Convention Bounce? Reuters Finds 7-point Shift...
— CAC

in Romney's favor:
Obama 43%
Romney 43%

Down from a seven point lead for the President in the last poll.
Of note: this is a likely voter poll versus the registered voter sampling most firms had been using for much of the summer (Reuter's 49-42 Obama lead was amongst 1000 registered voters). I think we are seeing the switchover now from RV to LV which will cause a shift in any existing "leads" for the President. Don't be surprised if analysts attribute the "bounce" to this shift in sampling, but at least we are getting a clearer picture of the race from more and more companies now.

Let's see what else shakes out this week.

44 I do not trust any polls this cycle.  The "models" used are unbelievably complex and contrived.

The idiots over at Daily Kos had a PPP poll showing Obama up by 9 the other day.. but the internals were so fucked up they could not explain them when confronted with the discrepancy between the reported numbers and the raw numbers.  They were totally fucked and all they could say was "if you think we are lying, then there's nothing we can say".  They didn't even try to explain them.

This is Pravda, Communist Central Committee level propaganda for the Commie-In-Chief.  The news media, in toto, has jumped the fucking shark.  I feel like we are at war, in a very real sense, for our way of life.

Posted by: CAC ATTACK at August 29, 2012 03:01 PM (mxnUd)

50 Yeah Romney is sitting on a mountain of cash, to whatever extent spending wins you a campaign, he has a notable advantage.
I still say that the cultural mood and the trend of a society wins national elections though. The winner is almost preordained, the candidates just go through the motions. If you don't have a Howard Dean style scream or macaca moment in your campaign, you will make it if the culture is headed that way. All the rest is just theater.

The pollsters have to start using proper polling methods soon or they will look stupid in November. The pollsters with a shred of professional ethics that is.

I'm not that excited about a Romney convention bounce, such things usually fade quickly. I'm interested to see how the increased spending after the convention affects the race during Sept. If Romney moves out front, the desperation from the left will be fun to watch in October.

You know, thinking back on that mishugas, the fact that he was banging an intern didn't bother me as such.  After all, there's ample precedent.  That's between him and Hillary.  What bothers me is lying about it under oath.  Be a man and admit it without perjury.

But what REALLY bothers me was him having so little respect for the Office of the President that he would get knobbed IN AND OUTSIDE OF the Oval Office, even finishing once in the bathroom sink in the corridor that services the Oval Office.  I have to stop, or a CVA awaits
