— LauraW David Axelrod has been dispatched to Boston to deliver a press conference at the State House. This is not just an ordinary campaign launch; it is calculated as a symbolic blow against Romney right in his former stomping grounds.
Naturally, the lefty base in a blue city in a blue state have assembled in droves to welcome Mr. Axelrod.
Not so much.
Romney supporters have swarmed the State House, to the chagrin of the Obama staffers and the detriment of any photo-op Axelrod may have wanted to create.
For pic after pic of Romney supporters ruining the day for Obama's campaign staff, see Ryan Williams' twitter feed this morning.
Ryan Williams @RyanGOP.@DavidAxelrod forced to walk through the crowd of Obama Isn't Working protesters to get to the podium.

Crushed. This moment, it is lost to them.
Tipped from Slublog, who remarks that this "...makes me feel a bit...optimistic about the Romney campaign's organizational skills..."

Obama really doesn't play well here. Remember his inability to drag Marcia Marsha Martha Coakley over the goal line against Scott Brown and the popularity of the "Miss Me Yet?" GWB shirts on Martha's Vineyard every summer.

Although Kudos to Team Mitt for the ground game on this one.

Somewhat related note - I'm hoping Walker sends a big statement, because I know this campaign has the good sense to use it well. First, to use it to strengthen their case to any persuadable midwest working class voters. Second, and the part I'll enjoy most, to deflate the non persuadable hardcore union types with a steady stream of not-so-subtle reminders that Obama didn't lift a finger to help Barrett.

They assume they won in 2008 because of their strategy and now plan to apply that exact same strategy in 2012.
When formulating their 2012 plan, they ignored external factors that lead to the victory in 2008. The economic collapse, a massive financial advantage, outside help via the media and celebrities, no record to defend, etc etc.
Romney on the otherhand learned from his 2008 primary loss and learned from McCain's failed 2008 primary run.
He's been preparing for this for 5 years. I applaud his campaign thus far. It's been great.

I too, was definitely on the "not a huge fan of Mitt" wagon, but I have to say that he is proving to be an entertaining opponent for Obama, every single "weird" thing they try to trot out for Romney ends up spinning back against Obama because Obama has done worse stuff. It's like Romney's campaign folks read, dissected, underlined, and highlighted, Obama's stupid books and are ready for any attack.
Plus, the use of social media by conservatives this election cycle is a thing of beauty. It was supposedly the "cool, edgy, hip" thing for the Obama campaign in 2008, so they should be even better at it by now, but they flounder all the time. As Nelson says "Ha Ha"

I think McRINO had the MFM eating out of his nutsack up until he got the nomination because he's always been a fave of those lazy cocksuckers just because he gives them so many quotes, usually against conservatives for a double bonus, that they can sit on their dead asses and get hammered with free booze. Whether it was true or not, Willard got pegged as being a flip-flopper probably because he was so shocked at the dumbass positions that McAmnesty took for a Republican that it confused him. Willard of the Latter Days worried me early in the primaries by seeming like he could be knocked off his stride by planted jizzmops but whatever apprehensions I had have been more than compensated for by the dumbfucks in team JEF.

Mitt is used to being in charge. He is used to being #1. In the primaries he wasn't #1 and it took him off his game. Contrary to how Newt succeeds when behind and fails when ahead, Romney struggles when behind but is at his best with a lead.
More than anything, the Republican base wants to see Romney wipe that arrogant smirk off Obama's face. If we keep seeing stuff like this, the enthusiasm from the base will go off the charts.

With the correct approach? I think EVERY State is in play this year....
Even here in California, if the Repub party had a clue here, they could have a chance.
You run against the DEM Machine... not the individual... you show how Dem leadership has taken this State from an economic powerhouse, to a declining economy.... you talk Energy, and Taxes, and spending...
And then you have a commercial, of an idiot Father, worrying over the family bills, and son comes in whining and crying, so Dad buys him a Train which they can't afford... putting it on the already over limit Credit Card...
Posted by: Romeo13 at May 31, 2012 09:03 AM (lZBBB)
If it looks like a blowout either way then you could expect a more aggressive choice.
And right now momentum is moving in Romney's direction, he can afford to wait as long as possible before any kind of choice or announcement.

The event was supposed to have been a secret. The campaign did not announce Mr. AxelrodÂ’s appearance in Mr. RomneyÂ’s hometown until early Thursday morning, although word of it leaked out on Twitter late Wednesday.
That implies that this was set up and executed between the time it was leaked last night and Axelrod's speech this morning. Given the presence of pre-printed signs, it's unlikely that this was a purely spontaneous outcome.
Holy crap. Say what you will about Romney, but his campaign reacts faster than a cat sprayed with a garden hose.

Day nine of deliberations. I think the judge had to dish another lecture to the jurors yesterday. I saw an artist's rendering of the jurors (from behind) and the gal who had been flirting with the bastard was wearing an off-the-shoulder shirt to court.
Between the flirting juror and the alternates coordinating their outfits each day, the judge has allowed his courtroom to become a circus.

Axelrod tried mostly in vain on Thursday to level Mr. ObamaÂ’s latest broadside on Mr. RomneyÂ’s record as governor of the state.
Instead, he was booed, heckled and chanted down by supporters of Mr. Romney who refused to let up even for a moment as Mr. Axelrod and Democratic state lawmakers sought to make their case. With cameras rolling, the Republican hecklers yelled “We Want Mitt!” and “Broken Record!” and held signs that said “Go Back to Chicago!”
I am pleasantly surprised.

He probably wouldn't. When he goes to the UN for his "King of World" job, he'll be bad-mouthing America all the f*ckin' time about how we didn't appreciate everything he did for us and we're all racists-n-sh!t.
My point is that Americans don't serf. We have a long tradition of controlled mayhem directed towards officious assholes that forget that fact. I honestly don't think the Obama administration would go as far as declaring martial law and even if they did, millions of Americans would not comply.

BTW, Romney's campaign HQ is in Boston, so it is likely those were all paid staffers and regular volunteers, it isn't like the camapign was able to get 100 peopel to show up on a moment's notice for this counter protest. Still, it is good execution by the Romney campaign.
Twitter reporting that Romney is doing an event in front of Solyndra HQ later today. Now THAT is good campaign strategery!

The OODA loop reference is too cool. I caught hints of it at work with the Romney campaign's reactive-proactive patterns, myself. You know Romney and/or his people have studied it. Surprised in retrospect Senator McCain, a former fighter pilot, didn't apply it in 2008.

""he took office in the midst of a recession and presided over a reversal in the state's fortunes," says Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. "As governor he confronted an economy very similar to Obama's economy: high unemployment and no job creation. However, under his leadership and economic reforms, the Massachusetts unemployment rate went from 5.6 percent to 4.7 percent, and the state had a positive record of nearly 50,000 new jobs created." ... [He] faced such a hostile legislature that out of the over 800 line-item vetoes he made, the legislature overrode more than 700." http://tinyurl.com/72ex4ah
Now that's an interesting picture Andrea Saul painted, it makes you think of the president and, in similar circumstances.
