Egyptian Terrrorist Granted US Visa To Visit White House
— Ace

He's a member of Egypt's parliament now.

Did he come to the US to swear he renounced terrorism?

Nope!

The group was banned under former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, and is now a recognized Islamist political party. Its spiritual leader, Omar Abdel Rahman—also known as the “blind sheik”—was convicted in 1995 of plotting attacks on New York City landmarks and transportation centers, and is serving a life sentence in a North Carolina federal prison....

In his meetings with senior Obama administration officials, Eldin says, he asked Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough about transferring Abdel-Rahman to an Egyptian prison. He said his request was declined.

I don't want to rag on the State Department or Obama too much, but what is the point of granting him a Visa? So he can come to the US and plead to let the guy who first tried to take down the Twin Towers escape to Egypt?

I understand "diplomacy." But what diplomacy is possible with this guy?

He's a terrorist, come to argue on behalf of another terrorist. Deny him entry. Let it be known we don't treat with terrorists.

1 They are still issuing visas to terrorists.  They are some really incompetent shits. If I was the President I would issue an executive order that no visas would be issued to any people from terrorist or terrorist sponsoring countries. That includes Saudi Arabia.

Hey, you know, Rashid Khalidi, Hani Nour Eldin, the blind sheik, what's the diff, right?

The most beautiful sound in the world is the call to prayer after all.

4 Silly Ace.  Didn't you get the WH memo?  There is no "war on terrorism" anymore.

I'm still scratching my head why our son is fighting the Tolleebon in A-Stan since Special Joe Biden said they're not our enemy "per se."

If he ever gets a chance to meet Commander Clusterfuck I'm sure Dear Leader will bow to him.

"Eldin says, he asked Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough about transferring Abdel-Rahman to an Egyptian prison."

Denis McDonough is the National Security Council's chief of staff and one of President Obama's closest advisers. Mr. McDonough is reportedly so close to the president that colleagues — even his superiors — often do not make a major move without first checking with him.

His work during the campaign sealed his role as Mr. Obama's most trusted foreign policy aide in the White House.

106 he asked Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough about transferring Abdel-Rahman to an Egyptian prison.

Oh, you wanted him alive and in one piece?  Well, next time be more specific.

108 "In his meetings with senior Obama administration officials, Eldin says, he asked Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough about transferring Abdel-Rahman to an Egyptian prison. He said his request was declined."

That's surprising.

With this cluster fuck of an administration, even doing the right thing seems to be open for discussion.

109 The body of Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi (the Lockerbie bomber, donchaknow) is barely cold, and the new Egyptian government sends one of the Blind Sheikh's minions over.  Whaddaya want to bet there's going to be a request based on humanitarian reasons to turn him over to Egypt?  The gambit's worked once, right?

111 Well the Obama administration sort of got backed into a corner, supporting the revolution like a glorious event of freedom and democracy. Now they can't refuse to recognize the Egyptian government so they have to let scum like this in. And honestly I doubt it bothers them that much.

112 Why was Palin stupid for saying he palled around with terrorists again?  I forget.  It's like they're not even trying to hide it anymore.

113 I love Sarah Palin ... For one simple reason ... She makes all the people I loathe foam at the mouth like rabid dogs.

114 He's a terrorist, come to argue on behalf of another terrorist. Deny him entry. Let it be known we don't treat with terrorists. ========== Really? We don't treat with terrorists? 53% of the electorate in 2008 voted for President a man whose political mentor was/is a domestic terrorist. "We don't treat with terrorists" went out the window in Nov 2008. At least 53% of the American electorate has no problem treating with terrorists and putting their friends in charge of the nation. And I think the latest polling shows Obama with 40%+ approval. So at least 40%+ of this nation seems quite alright with treating with terrorists in 2012.
