We need Republican Voter Guides here in Florida. I can't get to the poll without a Democrat calling me out basically for not taking his stupid how-to (not, in my case) vote guide. I guess I should take it to make sure I do everything they don't like.
I hate how they lurk just outside the no soliciting zone where you have to walk past. Certainly violating the spirit of the law.

Oregon is vote by mail. My wife and I never mail our ballots
in lest they get “lost” I just dropped off 9 ballots for myself and
family. All of them for the good guys.
I donÂ’t know if this is good or bad, but last night and this morning there were unusually long lines at the ballot drop off.
IÂ’m going to go make GOTV calls for a few hours to help make sure we get as many RÂ’s as possible counted.

There were 120 people in line in front of me outside the polling location. No idea how many inside. It took 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. Once there, I counted 100 people behind me still in line. When I finished voting, there were still 100 people outside in line.
Wife got to the polls at 10:30, mid morning. Still 100 people in line, and she waited 30 minutes to get inside.
The election judge inside had this wide eyed look of amazement and said he has never in all his years seen this many people show up to vote.
In 2004 there were 20 people in line when I got there at the same time, and this county turned out Bush's largest margin in Florida in the election.
This is a very red county.

There was a long line of new registrations at my polling place. Usually at 10am I walk right in to vote and there are no lines at all. We have two ballot questions that I believe are bringing them out - 1) voter ID, 2) marriage protection amendment.
The libtards have been non-stop TV advertising lying about the affects of both. They're even saying it'll cost us millions and have to completely redo our voting system to use ID. I think most of these new voters are airheads that believed it. The rest are young idiots who think two lesbians meet the universal criteria for "marriage". I had hoped Minnesota would narrowly opt for R&R, but this does not look good.
Sorry guys, I guess you all out there will have to carry our freight again.

Just returned from voting in San Diego county. Almost cried at the polls, seeing parents with children, obviously explaining the process to them and the kids paying attention.
On to the supermarket, where people were buying large quantities of liquor. One man started a conversation behind me, telling someone else that it was for watching election returns and that he planned to celebrate. The other guy said in a low voice, "Romney?" and got the affirmative, so I chimed in, pointing to my "I Voted" sticker and just said "Romney".Someone else spoke up and mentioned that I should buy champagne. I looked to see if anyone was buying pudding but no one was....just alcohol.
Now to read more about what the hell is going on in Philadelphia.

Waited over two and a half hours to vote at our local town hall in PA. The election staff were horribly inefficient and incompetent.
My sister lives in PA. Every time I chat with her on the phone -- and I'm not exaggerating; it's literally every time -- she has a new story of Pennsylvanian incompetence to share with me. She's convinced PA has to be home to some of the most across-the-board incompetent people in the country. It drives her nuts, and my B-I-L even nuttier. Their first week there a few years ago he nearly ended up punching a desk clerk at AAA.
When she sees a story on the news about someone somewhere doing something incredibly stupid, the reaction these days is usually, "Must be from PA."
So to all PA based Morons and Moronettes: you have my sympathies.

He's done really good work educating his citizens about the teachers unions and municipal unions' parasitic hold on the state. But he had a couple widely publicized missteps, such as when he AND the Lt. Gov. went on vacation the same week that Snowmageddon came up the coast. And he defended his decision, because of course it was all about him.
Then there was the time he took a state chopper to his kid's softball game. Then of course that weird speech at the GOP convention. It's a good thing he was outed before PE Romney starts considering his appointments.

Was in and out of my polling place in 20 mins. The election worker was very calm and professional when a woman started making noises about her vote not counting when her daughter was asked to sign an affirmation because she had just moved into the ward and was not on the rolls.
I've been voting in PA since 1990 and I never had a problem.

I voted this morning in Montgomery County PA. Busy, lots of people, most with the green GOP sample ballot. Satisfying to see.
At the moment we vote, we complete a social circuit. At that moment, every citizen is connected together as one nation.
To vote is to be connected to the nation: alone with your conscience in the voting booth, connected with your fellow citizens when you vote.
That moment makes all the worry and effort worthwhile. We do what many others around the world can't. That fact alone makes it special.

I just voted in Houston. Took me about 15 minutes from the time I left my car until I was back in it. Two people in front of me when I arrived and half the machines were unused. Mine is primarily a minority district.

Just met with my boss, he voted this AM in a Republican precinct in Bucks County PA and said line was super long at 7 a.m. He voted for Obama in 2008, voted Romney. Has 5 siblings, all did the same. Three of them in Florida. We're in a largish bank and praying for a Romney win.
Hearing of some shaningans in Philly but nothing more than usual. Not super heavy turnout there though.

In Manchester, CT at 6:30 at the high school it was out the door. Busier than I remember from the last presidential election. Hopeful though, I was in front of a union machinist and his wife and kid, they voted straight ticket Republican (we were talking about finding a job for my kid) anyway I saw his ticket when he was putting it in the optical scanner.
Also there was a very young black chick dressed in a huge Romney/Ryan banner. They let her wear it in the polling station, I was surprised, but she seemed proud as punch, but she did move awfully fast on her way out, probably to keep from getting the crap beat out of her by all the minorities waiting in line.

I saw one blue shirt and two blue denim jackets (which, of course, may have been just jackets) and stood in line behind three people wearing red or burgundy shirts. Everybody seemed happy and excited.
There was a car in the parking lot with a "Marines" bumper sticker next to an "Obama '12" sticker. Go figure.
I peeked at the voter roll as the poll workers were finding my name. It was a little discouraging at first -- "DEM DEM DEM DEM DEM DEM NPP DEM DEM DEM A/I DEM DEM NPP DEM DEM DEM DEM REP GRN DEM DEM DEM", etc. (but hey, that's my neighborhood for ya) -- but I think there's no way all those DEMs were going to vote for the 0. They didn't seem angry enough. :-)
One gentleman was wearing a "Korean War Vet" ball cap. I thanked him for his service. No one seemed displeased by that.
When we left, the line to vote was twice as long, and parents were starting to arrive with babies and children in tow.
I don't think Romney will carry my precinct, let alone CA as a whole, but it will be too close for Obagman's comfort.

For 196 - I'd suggest the Dalwhinnie 15 if you like Mac 12, and Isle of Jura is quite nice, too. If you can find Auchentoshen near you, the 18 and the Three Wood are both smooth and peppery. Since we elected a black Republican in the first district I don't understand why the Republicans didn't redistrict him out of that minority majority district that was created just to elect a black.
But the sackless Party here bent over an allowed the courts to do the redistricting and Holder still put a hold on it. And also the ID requirement which will not go into effect until after this election.

I related this story this morning.....Here we just use a black marker to fill in the circle. While I was waiting for my husband to finish voting, I watched a few people put their completed ballots into the machine....the ones I could see had the top line filled in, which were all the Republican candidates.

There is a lot of misinformation of what mormons are like out there.
My best friend in highschool was mormon. His parents and his sibling all 18 of them were the nicest kindest most genrous considerate people i have ever met in my life.
I even went to their church for a while the entire community seemed incredibly kind and caring. ITs a different america than what you get used to on TV.

Two things to consider: There are a lot of evangelicals who are being skimmed from the likely voter roles in polls but who will show up to vote. There are a lot of democrats in the early voting who are voting Romney. Its looking good if the fraud can be kept to historical levels, and there are a lot of volunteers out watching like never before and a lot of scrubbing to registered voters lists.

I voted this morning, in the suburbs just north of Dallas, TX. Lines out the front door of city hall but moving fast. In and out in 30 minutes or so, and the line out the door was the same length when I left, around 80 people.
No signs our campaigns anywhere to be seen around city hall. A welcome sight compared to the gauntlet we had to go through at the last local election earlier this year.
I also noted that most of the local offices and judges were unopposed Republican with a few Libertarian candidates but very few Democrat candidates on the ballot. Our county leans right, but I thought we had more Dems on the ballot last time.

We had one up here as well! I was impressed.. Although I live in a fairly conservative county (Dupage), there have been some movement away from the GOP in recent elections. (lots of Hispanic and Asian voters moving in and growing their population)
I don't know if this was a Romney push, or the GOP or if it was coordinated.. but I was definitely impressed with thew GOTV effort this year.

Republicans totally kicked ass on the GOTV. We had visits several times to the door (which is funny because I was walking other precincts), several calls a day, and a couple of door hangings. No Dems ever stopped by. Telling? That is the inverse of 2008.
In my precinct in 2008, Obama won by 5.2%. However, in the 2009 election for Governor, the Republican McDonnell won by 5.5%. I don't think that there is a lot of turnover in these neighborhoods. I guess we'll find out late tonight.
One of the election workers said that there had only been a couple of Provisional Ballots cast. Which will help out with the count at the end of the day. Provisional balloting could cause some headaches in Virginia.

Obama's photo op was using a national crisis as a campaign event, and ultimately meant nothing to the recovery effort. Democrats politicize every little inch of human suffering they can get in the same frame as themselves, all while hypocritically accusing their opponents of the same. Christie was very unwise to do what he did indulging that campaign event in his storm stricken state.

Proper Russian vodka is potatoes, but that's actually rare now. The typical Russian brands are grains. Any grain can make vodka. Hell, they actually even use grapes.
Tito's is amazingly smooth and flavorful - and winning awards. Still a very decent price and way cheaper (and better) than Gray Goose, Ketel One, Belvedere etc.

I live in Denton County, Texas, an extremely Republican county. Dropped darling daughter off at school this a.m at 8 (polls open for an hour already) and there was a line around the school. And we have early voting - I voted last week! 2 coworkers arrived at the polls at 6:45 and stood in line to vote (both mormons, by the way). I am amazed at how many people went out to vote - maybe they're putting an exclamation point on Texas electoral college count?
The bad news: I did see 3 Obama yard signs this year. One is in the yard of a lesbian couple. I have no idea what the other 2 houses are thinking.

Where I think it will get interesting to do a post-mortem on his model if Romney wins (which I definitely hope happens), is to compare his odds to the odds that would have been generated by Congressional district level polls, rather than state polls. If those CD polls are right and the GOP holds Congress, I think Romney wins. That will undercut the methodological rationale for using state-level Presidential polls to model the Presidential outcome. Basically, you would introduce more data to the model and data that's harder to fudge by using Congressional district data. Sure, you can talk "quality" issues with CD level polling, but I don't see that as a deal-breaker per se. Nor would "ticket-splitting" between Congressional and Presidential votes be one, as far as I can see.
Anyway, rather than just call him a "hack", I figured I would throw out why, even if he isn't a hack per se, he could just be missing the forest for the trees.
BTW, I do a lot of trading and use odds all day, every day. Seeing how the Left uses Silver exposes them for the degenerate idiots they are (yeah, I know, what's new?). They treat odds as if they were all that matters for a single round game, which the Presidential election most clearly is. Any conjecture about a poll before it closes is electioneering. News will avoid calling any states or discussing specific results other than just bulk turnout prior to a states polls being officially closed. So that means 8PM eastern is when dog and pony show really starts.

As a libertarian, you should see putting the state in conflict with the feds, particularly on an issue where Dems agree with the state, as a very good thing. Issues like medical marijuana are where we're going to win Dems over to the idea of letting the states set their own laws. And it's going to take supporters in *both* parties to begin to roll back the centralization of federal authority in this country.
So, I voted *yes* on the medical marijuana initiative here in MA.

Our local conservative talk show host says that he wants Romney to win, but the math just doesn't add up.
Being no stranger to math, I'm here to tell you that applying math without first applying a heavy dose of logic will usually get you the wrong answer. If your model is flawed, and if your data is wrong, you can grind your numbers perfectly until the cows come home, and you still won't get it right.
The last CNN poll is the poster child. It says "it's close - so, so, VERY close!!" But when you look at the internals, what it says is complete madness! I cringe when I think about what kind of torture must have been applied to those poor defenseless numbers, in order to get them to say what they wanted them to say. I say, "Leave those poor lil numbers alone!"
Anyway, we must reject that which is logically inconsistant, and dead-reckon with logic (and yes, apply a little math).
My congressional race is (allegedly) 50/50; this is not a deep red area. I have seen exactly ONE Obama yard sign ever. I don't know what the hell that means, but something VERY unusual is going on that nobody is talking about.

The 'rents just called from Bucks County, PA. Mom drove dad to the polls, portable oxygen tank and all (he secured one for the purpose of long voting day lines). They say they knew half the people in line, all of whom vote Republican.
My friend in CO's husband is a recently naturalized American citizen. He just cast his first vote in the USA for Romney, in CO.

The father of the girl who was harrassed at school for wearing a Romney T shirt a few weeks ago called. He and his wife went to vote in Port Richmond, a semi-ghetto area of northeast Philly. He said when they walked in everything went quiet and nobody would look at them. When he finally got in front of someone to ask what to do (they recently moved to the neighborhood and were first time voters) a poll worker gruffly told them to sign in and show their IDs. (First time voters have always had to show ID in PA). They hassled his wife because her ID did not have her married last name on it. Then the other one spat out "well, I guess there are two votes for Romney." When they finished voting the poll workers refused to give them the "I Voted" stickers.

I voted in favor of Medical Marijuana (having had personal experience with chemo, and I got my weed "black market").
I'm not sure I'd do that again, because we seem to have more medical marijuana dispensaries than we have prescription drug stores.
Essentially, they advocate funding school systems with "drug money".
The only way that works is if sales increase to the point that being stoned is the norm.
They started out funding schools with tobacco tax, and as smoking has decreased, so have school revenues from the source.

His garbled response to the child-conceived-by-rape question pissed her off. I tend to think she's representative of many Republican women in Indiana, as well as moderates of either gender.
If Mourdock wins a Senate seat, it's because Romney has long coattails, not because he ran a decent campaign.

Here is how I understand it. Republicans have traditionally had little presence in this part of Philadelphia. So, they often haven't sent poll watchers in the past. The Democratic election head there then appoints one of his cronies to sit in the Republican's seat. And, this presumably allows for a lot of hanky panky, limited only by the number of registered voters in the precinct (which is where all those fake registrations that Dem organizations have supplied come in).
This year, a lot of Republicans apparently showed up to fill the Republican election watcher slot. This was not appreciated by the local Dem organization that is used to filling those slots, and so balked by ejecting the designated Republican poll watchers.
A couple things of note here. First, a lot of those on the left claim that the real issue is disenfranchisement (i.e. undervoting), and not voter fraud (i.e. overvoting). This is just more evidence that voter fraud is probably rampant and traditionally unpoliced in at least the heavily Dem areas of Philadelphia.
Secondly, on a good note, the fact that the Republicans are sending election judges and poll watchers to these precincts is likely indicia that they are much better organized this year, and the fact that they were able to get injunctions and the like evidence that they were prepared for this, with attorneys standing by ready to go into court. And, I think that means that there is likely going to be less fraudulent voting by the Dem machine in Philadelphia than usual.

I also agree with my girlfriend to an extent: Mourdock's answer was garbled, poorly worded and ill-prepared. He seems like a nice enough guy and a solid conservative, but has little or no political instincts.
Competence would be a nice trait in a US Senator. He doesn't seem to have it. We'll see.

There has been a steady gentrification of poor neighborhoods in the city, there are areas where pioneers are moving in and rehabbing that I would not venture into past 5 pm. This new breed is who the Philadelphia urban planners want as residents. Bottom line: in ten years the demographic make-up of the city will be much less amenable to donks and their ilk. Good on the Philly GOP for taking a stand and moving into the belly of the beast, for in time they will find a less hostile territory.

I almost voted Donnelly. Despite being blue, he seems like a decent family guy. I voted for Lugar in the primaries, because of this specific situation. I thought Lugar would beat Donnelly handily, and Mourdock was a wild card. Off-topic, Mourdock has always struck me as a little bit off, a little weird. I wasn't sure I could pull the lever for the weirdness. In the end, the pro-life in me just couldn't pull the trigger for Donnelly.

Similar feelings for similar reasons when I voted for Mourdock. A liberal friend of mine knows Donnelly personally, says he's likeable but moderate (not a compliment from a liberal), an old-time Blue Dog. Thing is, Blue Dogs always vote party line on major issues, even if it kills them. And that's another thing: the Democrats seem to be more loyal to their own party than Republican politicians and voters seem to be. The Dems seem more cohesive while we're stuck with the RINOs on one end and the Libertarians on the other, both ready to split the ticket or jump the aisle at the slightest provocation. The GOP is a big tent, sure, but if you come in the tent then stay in the tent and quit threatening to storm out every time you don't get your way.

When did anybody figure out that Obama was worse than imagined?
In 2007, before the internet was scrubbed, and I did the research. I knew all about his commie family, frank marshall davis, Stanley and wife Dunham, and the litte red church in WA, and the choom-boy going to Pakistan when Americans weren't allowed INTO Pok ee ston. I knew about his madrassas attendance, the divorce my abandoning mother Stanley from 2nd muslim husband, Lolo Soetoro because he went to work for an evil capitalist Union Oil Co. in Indonesia, and I knew how every election he won, he won by sleezy legal revelations days before the election, I knew about Tony Rezko, Valerie Jarret and Rev. Wright. I read Obama Sr.'s thesis stating that 100% tax on people in Kenya was feasible and worthy. I knew about Odingo, George Obsama, the brother who works in finance in China, ad nauseum. It was all there. Until it was scrubbed.
You had to want to know. Not to mention, his books, ghost-written by Billy Ayers, (whose home obsama launched his political career in) and the Weather Underground, Rhashid Khalidi, and the old dude who gave an interview saying BO gained entrance to Harvard by a letter from him, an islamist commie, and his connections to Bin Alwaleed.
Just regurgitating it makes me sick. Sicker than I have been since the Arab "Spring", and worst, Benghazi.
The next 70 days are going to be HORRIFIC, and everyone better be ready with screen shots and Congressional contact numbers. Along with the other fed alphabet units.
But, today, Is OUR day.

Every time there is a natural disaster there are people who pick through wreckage, gather what things are salvageable, thank the Lord that no one in their family was killed, and say they will rebuild,
Then there are the people you see staring off into space, in shock, maybe weeping, and if they can talk, they simply say, "I don't know what I am going to do."
No one knows how he/she will react until something like that happens. Christie, sadly, is of the latter type. I hold him no animus, but he killed his chances for national office. You cannot have a vice president or president who collapses when bad things happen. And I think he did.

I agree with the person who said C Christie was operating in some kind of state of shock. Probably still is. He's an asthmatic, has been hospitalized for it. Wouldn't surprise me to see him be admitted again. Needs to lose weight. Hired a personal trainer when he becmae the guv, for his kids' sake, but looks like he's a heavy as ever.

I was hoping Rove would be a guest on Hannity's radio show, but not today. Guess he's busy getting ready for the poll-closed shows.
Do you think Sean Hannity talks this much to his wife? My gawd, I've never known a man to repeat himself the way he does. He seems to be a very nice man, people say he's kind and generous and that does come through, but wow, can't he just take questions instead of blabbing?
Kasich is on now: just said he's "optimistic", still taking about the EV of Dems not meeting targets in OH, but of course, he said he has no way of knowing if they are voting today. Says he has heard the GOP turning out, but that he still maintains it'll be close. Duh.

Cunningham said he just talked to registrar of voters : Hamilton County: suburb of 550k voting in the meaty part of "doughnut" is great, way up from 2010 and he said Mitt will win HC and win Ohio.
Hope he's right, but Cunningham is always "up."
