— Ace I don't really consider this a victory because in a perfect world Rush wouldn't have gotten fired for saying something someone else didn't like. And I don't think this idiot should be fired, just because he's stupid. That's certainly never been a bar for appearing on ESPN in the past.
However, because the liberal media and liberal establishment (as in academy) is determined to use ThoughtCrime tactics selectively, only against the right, we must compel them to live by their own rulebook -- otherwise they will gleefully just keep using these Orwellian tactics against us.
By the way, they'll let this guy back in a couple of months when no one's looking.

Do you think the Federal government is twice as good as it was in 2000?
Total government spending in the country (Federal, State & Local) has gone from $3.2 trillion in 2000 to $6.3 trillion today. Government spending was 32% of GDP in 2000. Today it is 40% of GDP.
Has this been beneficial to the country or your life?

I hope this isn't how other black people feel about themselves.
It's a form of psychotic racism to me. They seem particularly proud to reject a society that could give them a fruitful and productive life and prefer instead to denigrate it and those who recognize its value.
I waded into the comments over at Twitchy this morning to counter one commenter who called it something totally unwarranted (at the vile post that contained some idiot rappers violent tweets to MM). I asked him why we didn't have the same right to defend our culture as those who criticize it. Naturally, he dismissed my questions as a rant.
Typical.

78 Free speech just means the government can't get you. Your boss can do whatever he wants.
He wasn't doing his job.
Even worse, he was using his position to forward his own agenda.
If you're hired to sell a product, for example...and you use that position to try to sell another product, using the employer-provided forum and employer-generated audience...then you are guilty of using your job for your own personal purposes.

I've never heard it used exactly like he used it, but to a black guy who's trying to sound rough, "cornball" means, roughly, "beta." It also means "white." Which also means "beta."
I'm not literally on The Street much these days, but I know the current term there for a socially submissive dude is "piss boy." It means you serve, and the tone is equivalent to the Bostonian "faggot."
So Parker's not up on the lingo. But that's what he meant.
Marrying (marrying, note) a white woman, not caring if you're right with the Blackness Police, not being a Democrat--that's all serving. Strange idea. But nearly universal. So it's ironic, too.

He has a white wife. He talks without any obvious ethnic accent.
His mannerisms are uniformly polite. He doesn't talk smack. He makes no attempts to intimidate people. Very few signs of chest-thumping bravado.
Sadly, to a many if not most blacks in America, those things make him not "authentically" black.
Those attributes make him seem "corny". Like a white guy.
If that's true, if that's what some black people really believe, I'm not sure that any racial healing or racial bridging is ever going to work with them.

I don't really consider this a victory because in a perfect world Rush wouldn't have gotten fired for saying something someone else didn't like.
I disagree, ace. Rush shouldn't have gotten fired for his remarks, but what Parker said IS fireable, IMO. Rush said nothing about Donovan McNabb's race outside of saying that it was the only reason anyone called McNabb a great quarterback. He was calling out the media for ITS racism, because the media allowed its NAACP-approved sunglasses to obscure their perception of a guy who was at best a GOOD quarterback, but not one of the all-time greats. They were so desperate to have a quality black quarterback again that the sports media latched onto McNabb and didn't let go until Vick came along. And that worked otu SO well for them.
But what Parker said was pure, uncensored racism. He questioned RGIII's racial bona fides just like a KKK member in the 1950s might have questioned the family tree of someone who didn't look white enough, or the Nazis might question the Aryan blood of someone with a "Jewish nose." It was an individual, personal attack on a man who'd never done Parker any wrong, made for the simple fact that RGIII is marrying a white woman and "may" have voted Republican.
And worse for ESPN, it was a direct attack on one of the hottest figures in the most popular sport in the country. The last thing they'd want is RGIII responding to an interview request with, "Is that Rob Parker still working for you? Yeah? Sorry, I've got an appointment with Fox Sports to schedule instead."

He's an asshole who thinks he's smart, mostly by being a contrarian for no good reason and claiming lots and lots of connections in the sports world. When he was a regular columnist for either the the Freep or the News he routinely wrote the worst columns in the city.
He had a radio talker that got cancelled, and he had a regular spot on the tv that got cancelled. Now he shows up occasionally on the NBC affiliate on the late Sunday sports edition. Evidently when they can't get anyone else to prop up the "sports chick" and her blather. He's still and idiot.
