— DrewM Introduction (from his website):
While growing up, Rodney worked in his parentsÂ’ restaurant, so heÂ’s seen first-hand the daily challenges faced by small business owners. In his role as Projects Director for Congressman John Shimkus, Rodney became intimately familiar with the role that the federal government plays in our communities, where it can help, and where it can hurt. He was instrumental in helping Illinois citizens and communities cut through government red tape and works daily to provide support and relief to a wide array of important local projects.
Despite his busy schedule, Rodney has always put family first. In 1995, he married Shannon, his high school sweetheart. At age 26, soon after the birth of their daughter, Toryn, Shannon was diagnosed with cancer. Drawing on their faith and family for support, Rodney and Shannon faced the devastating diagnosis head-on and prevailed. Throughout her treatment, Rodney never missed one of ShannonÂ’s sessions. Almost two years after ShannonÂ’s initial diagnosis, they celebrated the birth of their twin sons Griffin and Clark. Today, Shannon is a 13-year survivor. She is a registered nurse and an instructor at St. JohnÂ’s College of Nursing in Springfield, where she helps educate IllinoisÂ’ next generation of caregivers.
The District:
The new IL-13 is mostly made up of the previous IL-15. Right now itÂ’s a Republican held seat but the incumbent is retiring. It leans GOP but went for home state Barack Obama in 2008.
Opponent:
David Gill is a physician running for office for the first time.
It doesnÂ’t seem as if heÂ’s any more or less objectionable than your average Democrat but any new vote for Pelosi or Obama is bad enough.
The Race:
As with most House races thereÂ’s not a lot of polling. We Ask America had Davis up 2 points about a week ago and thatÂ’s essentially a dead heat.
Real Clear Politics has the race as a toss up.
The best news seems to be the pull out of ad money by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The GOP is still spending on the race.
If youÂ’re in the area and can volunteer or want to donate, visit the campaignÂ’s website.

I apologize because I know this is frowned upon here, but...my mom's birthday is the second week of November. She has told me that for her birthday she wants Obama out of office. Will y'all please make my mom's birthday wish come true? I will now leave you to your regularly scheduled on topic stuff. And hope all the morons and 'ettes here have a lovely day.

Glad to hear that DCCC is stopped spending on ads in this race. Gill has been able to hide behind DCCC as theyÂ’ve run scurrilous ads against Davis.
David Gill loves him some ObamaCare. Rodney Davis has vowed to support its repeal.

Please...just drop the whole issue of Jewish voting.
It makes me sick to my stomach whenever I think about all of my seemingly intelligent relatives and Jewish friends who, inexplicably, will vote for Obama -- the man who would happily fire up the crematoria if he could.
As I have suggested in the past, there is some genetic flaw in Ashkenazi Jews....apparently the parts of the brain that are responsible for our successes in medicine and science and business have overwhelmed the portion that controls political thought.

He knows that it will guarantee a rejection by the house, so he gets some transitory political gain among the already committed.
And because his goal is not to guide the country onto a path to solvency, but to create permanent schisms in the structure of our cultural life, it makes perfect sense.
Class warfare! It's what's for dinner at the White House.

Unfortunately it is worse for the Jews. Many of us are actively promoting a political agenda that, taken to its logical conclusion, will culminate in the destruction of the state of Israel and the marginalization and state-sponsored persecution of the Jewish people throughout the world.

They've obviously already been pouring over Romney's tax returns, willow.
There must be something in them that they are wanting to spin into a negative.
But Hairy Reed and the other highups will make sure they've got enough layers of lackeys between them and whoever 'leaks' them.
So, I doubt that they could get prosecuted...if the tax returns get out.
Even though we know they were behind it.

O/T, but I just saw this: Obama is threatening to veto any legislation which avoids the "Fiscal Cliff" that does not include tax hikes on "the rich."
Response from Congressional Republicans to Congressional Democrats should be, "You guys have two options. We can work something out now that is veto-proof or we can wait until January when we own the House, Senate, and White House. You choose."

Not a thing. His wife died a few years ago and he has an ad in which he complains about the cost of the med helo that transported his wife and the bill he received in quick order that supposedly the insurance company didn't pay. I guess the med-evac should be free. I doubt there would even be a med-evac chopper available if healthcare were "free".

If there were anything to this October Surprise stuff they wouldn't be pumping it up for release on the internet. It would've been held back and leaked to the news media in the seven days prior to the election. And I don't think Mittens' tax returns are much of an issue; if they were, the Democrats would never have dropped them. Mittens is rich, everyone knows it.

Barky and the Dems keep tying the "Fiscal Cliff" to the "rich not paying their fair share".
Barky has run up $5 Trillion in new Debt.
And he keeps using the figure of..."$5 Trillion in tax cuts for the rich".
In other words....'It's the rich people's fault that we spent too much!'

Having worked in insurance, let me tell you what almost certainly happened.
Scenario 1 (inside the US):
The Air Ambulance company does not contract with their insurance (Medicare,or their Advantage plan- note: Ambulance companies, air or otherwise, virtually never contract with insurance companies- why should they?) and billed whatever they bill. The insurance company processed their "allowed amount," but, since the Ambulance company doesn't contract with the insurance company, they are allowed to "balance bill" over that allowed amount. For air ambulance, the difference is often in the thousands of dollars.
Scenario 2 (outside the US):
Outside the US claims are difficult to process. I've had to do a few, and they suck. Often, the foreign company bills the patient directly (no reason for them not to) but won't provide an itemized statement (needed for a claim) and won't provide the charge as assessed in USD- meaning that when the claim finally does process, it pays based on current exchange rates (which may, or may not, be good for the patient).
In either case, there is precisley nothing the insurance company can do, except just pay at 100%, which they'll never do (nor should they), but I'm sure is what the idiot thinks they should do (and probably thinks OCare will).

However they are taking an unweighted average of the seven polls. If you weight them by sample size (Gallup being the largest) Romney is up by 1.7 percent with a sample size over 19,000 (MOE =.7%)

Religion became the unifying characteristic of Jewish culture, culminating in the rise of Hasidism in Eastern Europe.
Assimilation occurred primarily in France and Germany. In the Ottoman empire Jews were considered part of the empire and not outsiders, in spite of their different religion.

I'm sure you remember that Newsweek had the story first but chose to bury it, allowing Drudge to scoop them and become the most influential news figure in the country.

So okay...the news this morning, is that Barky's unemployment numbers last week were bogus.
That thing he keeps saying about "Created 5 million new jobs" is also bogus.
Because so many of those jobs....died when the companies went bankrupt.
Romney/Ryan need to be asking:
"How many of those 'Jobs Created' are still there?"

I just did 2 extractions on a raving Obama/Liberal. She didn't think it was funny when I told her " under ObamaCare they wouldn't pay for any anesthetic". She presumed from that 1 joke that I was a raving Tea Party Conservative and wanted to continue lecturing me about 47% and Dogs on the Roof of a Car even as I proceeded to do dental extractions on her.
The thing is, even if I WAS an over the top Conservative....where's the logic in pissing in the cook's soup before dinner is served? How stewpid do you have to be to do that?

My sister Mary in Vermont says that all of her friends are voting for Obama, and my friends too! Just wait until he wins, and all of you can cry into your beers and maybe beet your wives and dogs.

In other House races, my commie pinko Dem Rep Lois Capps is getting savaged by DailyCaller and our local papers for not reporting over $500k in income from two CA state pensions (one from her former occupation as a teacher and another from UC for her late husband). This is the same Rep Capps who was nicked earlier this year for not reporting income from renting out a room in her house to one of her staff members. As a result, what should be a 80/20 blowout reelection here in Leningrad-with-palm-trees is looking like R+1 for Maldonado (R)
Best part is, the Santa Barbara Independent newspaper quoted in the DC story is a weekly free rag that considers the Khmer Rouge to be a bunch of rightwinger rednecks. *snerk*

Heh. Texas just noticed that their cost of medcaid dental tripled from $400M to $1.4B and most of the increase was due to fraud.
Big Dental rent seekers are sending out people to recruit kids at public schools to get braces on them even if not needed.
Socialist central planners never change. Bless thier black little hearts.

WGN showed a poll last week that, outside of Crook County, Romney is 46-41% over Barry. But Crook County is so overwhelming for Barry that Illinois goes for him. However about a month or so ago Mitt had a fundraiser at the Pump Room which had to send the lakefront liberals into complete hysterics.

She's been socked a lot, but she is real; she just does occasional hit and run comments with lots of spelling errors and capitalized words.
Last I checked she's still spewing Teh Krazy on Twitter. Her blog is whitenoiseinsanity. Emphasis on the insanity.

Illinois is run by democrats who have total contempt for ordinary citizens (you know, serfs).
Because of the huge population concentration in Chicago and its suburbs, Chicago basically runs the state. They did the redistricting in 2010 and drew every single congressional district to favor democrats, no matter how bizarre the districts look on paper. You wanna talk about gerrymandering!
It will be a miracle if any republicans survive, and certainly conservative republicans will be toast.
