— Ace "No problem."
Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter says the campaign has "no problem" with Vice President Joe Biden's comments to about putting people back in chains."I think he probably agrees with Joe Biden's sentiments," Cutter said on behalf of President Obama.
The Romney camp says this is a "new low."
“After weeks of slanderous and baseless accusations leveled against Governor Romney, the Obama campaign has reached a new low,” said Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul in a statement. “The comments made by the vice president of the United States are not acceptable in our political discourse and demonstrate yet again that the Obama campaign will say and do anything to win this election. President Obama should tell the American people whether he agrees with Joe Biden’s comments.”Former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer tweeted: “The press pounded [Sarah] Palin when she talked about ‘blood libel’ … what will they do about Biden’s ‘chains’ remark.”

My assumption is that they're exploiting a meme that's current for the audience but underground for everybody else. It might be that blacks are hearing from their opinion leaders that this is a Big Deal Election as far as their current way of life goes. If so, the slavery metaphor is the easiest one to use.

Here's the problem: We're at a tipping point right now. There are nearly as many people living off our tax dollars as there are of us.
Once there are more of them than there are of us, they won't even need to bother with trying to convince their voters, or even lying to them.
Because it really WILL be us trying to "take away" from them - taking away the dollars that are confiscated from US and given to THEM.
Once we get to that point, how long do you think this Republic will last?
You will all die cold and alone in the darkness.
That's why this election is so important.

I don't know if there's a race element to this.
It seems they know Republicans can easily make the point that socialist policies enslave a society. So they get out in front of it with their counter-argument that Republicans want society enslaved to reality, or "wall street" or whateverthefuck.
Projection for them is not a psychological tick, its a strategy.

The left plays by a different set of rules. We can either ignore it, comment on it, comment on it and make a point, or stoop to their level. Many on our side say we need to fight fire with fire. I have no interest in waging a battle on the same immoral terms as the left. Its not right, not moral, and plainly un-American. Nor should we ignore it. And commenting on it isn't enough.
But comment on it we must. Mitt's response should be in two parts: (1) Obama's campaign is in the gutter, and (2) we will unleash the chains of 20% african-american unemployment.
In addition, you need more than words. Words are hollow if you follow them up with "Obama's a good man" or appear at a joint session with him. If someone defamed me in such a way, I would show some rightous indegnation. But I would not stoop to the same level.
Now would be a good time for Mitt to give a real post-racial speech.

I am enraged at the whites who would try to use racial hate to hurt innocent political opponents.
If this is *acceptable* we need to know and understand the implications.

It is human nature to grasp at the explanation that absolves you of responsibility for your envy of other's success or dissatisfaction with your station.
And the most flattering explanation is, "It's not your fault." That rich man must be smart, huh?
"Lots of people are smart." People like you.
Rich people work hard?
"Lots of people work hard." People like you.
And since you are just as smart, and work just as hard, why then the only reason that you're not just as successful is that someone is purposely preventing you from reaching your goals. Never mind that you don't really *have* any goals you can put a finger on, that's just The Man fuckin' with your head.
"Hey, that's fucked up!"
I feel you, dawg. I feel you. Look, just vote for me and I will handle this shit, okay?

Ghey marriage? Not big in Black churches.
Just saying epic stay at home is going to kill Obama. All the early bought votes will not be enough.
That and the fact that Romney chained them in their rooms.

I understand the premise, I am saying in a sarcastic way( sorry) that the blacks can vote with the same turn out as 2008 and it will not matter. There is only one state where they might make a difference and that is Missouri.

It's time they let loose some dirty, mean shit of their own (which they can distance themselves from so as not to have to disavow).
Romney keeps walking out to the center-ring to tap gloves and their guy has paid the ref to knee him in the balls.
Don't fucking whine about "not acceptable in our political discourse" and start saying, "I wouldn't expect anything less from a trapped rat--vicious, mean and dishonest. The kind of thing you'd expect from someone trying to hide the fact they stole billions from Medicare."

@154 My alltime favorite was Al Gore in 200 telling a black audience, "when they talk about hewing to the Constitution, I'm reminded of the days when black folks were considered three-fifths of a person." This was a week before Election Day. And let's not forget that lovely NAACP ad accusing George W. Bush of personally dragging James Byrd behind the truck.
No, we ain't seen nothin' yet.

Start quoting how much it would be over five years, ten years, fifteen years, etc.
Start talking about how it is billions.
Because, as the video in the previous thread showed, when Sununu kept changing the number, it forced that dumb scrunt to state the correct number with a "but, but."
What that does is make the low-info voters think, "maybe that stealing from Medicare is true, because even the Dems are admitting the number is correct."

@181 you might want to check out the latest Romney TV ad (doesn;t look like it's a web ad either." Goes right after Obama cutting $700 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare. Has old guy looking out while narrator says "YOU PAID for your Medicare benefits. Now Obama has taken them away. Then says Romney-Ryan plan keeps Medicare for YOU, and keeps Medicare around for your children.
It's reaaaaaaallly good. And guaranteed to have the Obama camp foaming at the mouth.
I have a feeling this has been up their sleeve for months, waiting for the Dems tio start the Mediscare campaign. Maybe they were even clever enough to pick Ryan as the rope-a-dope to get this going.

Remind me again, which party was it that promoted and defended slavery (to the death), segregation, and the KKK? Which party segregated the armed forces, and had KKK members in Congress?
And which party was it that was founded to end slavery, fought a war to do so, and later sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock to enforce an order to integrate schools?
And these assholes have the fucking nerve to say Republicans want to put them in chains? WTF? Democrats literally had blacks in chains, or dangling from the ends of ropes.

They are fucking liars and everyone knows it....
Barack Obama did something no other President has done in the way he did it.
Taking 716 Billion from funding for future liabilities in a program that is funded by involuntary withholding to fund a new program that further penalizes and coerces Americans into enriching private businesses in a mad dash effort to HIDE the true cost of Obamacare is theft plain and simple.
Ogabe has entwined the two programs to the point Medicare a program all have paid into their whole working lives is a defacto piggybank for GoofwadCare, you want to make the argument that magical “potential future savings” is worth putting the current and near future coverage of the people who were taxed at 25% of their wage is a good idea YOU TRY TO MAKE THAT SALE.
My Reply is why Obarka is terrified and it showsÂ…
in 1967 democrats said by 1990 Medicare would cost 9 billion, the cost was 63 billionÂ…..
what happened to “savings exerted by government control of Senior care”?
Yeah exactly….everyone knows politicians broke the two main programs but hey everyone trust him “I figured it out THIS TIME IT WILL WORK!”
Obama took a stupid move by politicians leaving IOU in Medicare and Social Security and made it a matter of course to shift funds from an already damaged piggybank.
My ground is solid sooner or later you democrats loseÂ…
you may eke this one out but people my age and lower ALREADY hate SS and medicareÂ….just wait until the tax penalties from Ocare hitÂ….
if you guys are having your marxist revolution and eke out a win you better get to work because the pushback to your idiocy will flatten your power for 12-20 years when EVERYONE is HURT BY YOUR FRAUD.

I'm afraid so. Obama's best move may be to go big on this -- at least then no one is talking about Paul Ryan or the economy then.
The Romney campaign's response probably should have been mockery of Joe Biden, along these lines: "Heh, heh. There's no telling what old Joe will say. I know that President Obama has to ride to his Vice President's rescue now, but you have to feel for Barack when old Joe is constantly making him defend outrageous statements like this. I wonder what Joe will say tomorrow?"

That's why Biden is out there saying this crap. They know they'll get 90+% of the black vote, but a lot are going to just stay home out of frustration with how crappy the president and the economy is going.
They have to get that turnout up, and I bet this helps. Expect more of it.
