Amongst UNION households? Walker only trails 47% to 50%.

This is the eighth straight poll showing Walker with a lead, and now a massive one.

Poll was taken May 23rd amongst 1409 Likely Voters.

Wisconsin Leftists, I ask of you again,

The Ace of Spades HQ Decision Desk Projection will be up in a bit.

Absentee ballot news: over 90,000 ballots have already been issued for the recall, up from the 68,000 total for the primary. In the 2010 gubernatorial race, 230,000 absentee ballots were issued. Turnout is going to be very, very high so you have no excuse to skip this out without risking the danger of being beaten with a fire ant-covered cactus.

UPDATE: Larry Sabato of the Crystal Ball becomes first election prognosticator to change their status of the Wisconsin recall race, from lean to likely R. I am assuming a lot more will be following soon.

I think he's a very pragmatic, mathematical guy, and he now has two examples-- Walker and Christie -- that if he goes hard on controlling spending, he'll take *some* damage in popularity for a while, but after two years his numbers will be stuck at over 54%. I do. You dangerously underestimate the number of people in Wisconsin who might have voted against Walker in 2010 and would again in 2014, but are seriously disgusted with the neverending recall circus, as well as the dominance of the clownish liberals in Madison. WI has a Madison/outstate dynamic that is similar to places like NY and MA, where the Democrats in the rural areas are still Democrats who lean left, but can't fucking stand the hyper-liberal activist assholes in Madison. There is significant recall fatigue in the state, and it is not only depressing Dem turnout, it is swinging some Dem voters to Walker on a "stop the insanity" message.

That won't necessarily carry over to Romney in November.

I don't think WI is out of reach for Romney at all in November, but no way will it be an easy lift.

It is June 5th.

Oh don't get me wrong -- Walker will not only win on June 5th, he'll CRUSH. I think it quite possible that, with massive GOP enthusiasm and depressed Dem turnout everywhere but Madison, Walker will break 55% and possibly approach 60%.

But I don't think that will necessarily translate easily to a Romney in in November. WI is a major swing state, no doubt about it, but it's not like it's suddenly going to be in the bag now.

Cooper's is a little small and always crowded, but yeah it's pretty good. The guy who started it used to run the Brocach.
