Wisconsin Tied, Obama 49, Romney 48
— Ace

Triage.

And then, on the other hand: Expansion into newly-tossup states.

In late September, just before Romney's impressive performance in the first presidential debate, Obama held an 11-point lead, 53 percent to 42 percent.

Obama still edges Romney on favorability there, which, after long resisting the notion, I'm now comprehending does in fact represent one's likely Election Day vote share.

Romney's slightly underwater at 46/48, while Obama's ahead 52/45.

I think ads and appearances can change that. Here's hoping, anyway.

Oh: Thompson is 1 point ahead in the same poll. Which means Romney is underperforming, which is possibly simply because he hasn't genuinely contested this state. Yet.

Hopefully, those cheesehead voters will wake up and vote for Romney. And yes, Candy Ass Crowley's performance was akin to the replacement refs in the Seattle/Packers game. I would love to see an ad run in Wisconsin that puts her in a striped uniform, blowing her whistle at Romney and recapping all her bad calls and ref interference as she tried to drag Choombama over the goal line, time after time.

During this little lecture, Obama is locking eyes with Romney in a steely-eyed gaze.

Of   all  those, I see CO and NH flipping first.  How can  the  "live free or die" state  vote   to  ensure  Obamacare  (even with  all  the MA transplants).  And CO is a  western  state  that may have interest in oil & gas.

Iowa  just  sucks of the government teet.   Though Mitt certainly pandered to them last night.

Maybe a little of both.  I think that the MSM doesn't want to go into the election with wildly inaccurate poll results so they are are trending more toward reality but that very trending allows the type of cascade we've been hoping for by making it OK to like for Romney.

WOW..partisan splits good question...When you lose an 11 point lead down to 1 point that is awful.  The Marquette Poll is pretty good with Wis and the momentum is moving away from Obam...Mitt up 6 and Obama down 4....that is very bad....If this oversamples Dems I have feeling Mitt is up and with Ryan on the ticket I have to think Romney is really up 2-3 points.  But even this is not good for Obama....his leads are collapsing everywhere...last night did little to help him as the Economy numbers were overwhelmingly for Mitt.  Obama is burning through cash big time....he will have to defend in WIS more and I think even Michigan....PA is not looking great either.  In Florida, the Obama ads have decreased to a point...could be Super Pacs are less but Obama does not have the money to fight all these states. He is gone from NC basically....Florida and Virginia are slipping away..OH is moving more and more to Mitt, as is Nevada and Colorado....Iowa is tied and New Hampshire is tied but I think Mitt is up there as well.

When you see Obama campaigning in New Hampshire you know he is in trouble....he was originally up there double digits and that is gone!!

Dick Morris was right and so is Rush...people have seen Mitt on the National Stage and you know what....He is Likeable, Personal and Offers Solutions to Bring America Back!!  Obama looks old, nothing new and never has fulfilled any of his promises!  Well except to make coal miners lose their jobs and make energy so expensive! and the dreaded Obamacare which still over 54 percent want REPEALED!

Because most Americans do not want another Bush administration, whether Romney's or Jeb's.

It's relevant because so many of Romney's advisers are from George W's Bush administration, and none from the Republican tradition of Eisenhower, Goldwater or even the initial Reagan campaign.

It afforded Romney the opportunity to make his own "authentic" case, which he did well. No attention or money wasted on a campaign ad making the distinction. She did Mitt a favor, and Romney made some good lemonade from her lemon, evading similarities by omission.

It's one thing for him to not argue the premise on the 72% pay thing, or to mention obama's lawless administration, or even not passing a budget for 4 years while baselining porkulus spending, or to criticize obama for not passing immigration reform, but you take this together, what the hell? Am I just a dog demanding red meat be thrown at me, does Team Double R really think that none of these issues matter to the precious 3% of the population that's truly Independent? Come on, you saw Luntz's Dunces, they're pissed at Obama, go after him harder. It's not that Obama has pissed away 4 years and $5T, it's that he's done a lot worse. And sysly, no one wants more immigration. That's not a losing issue for GOP, espcially since most people can't conceive that we add 100K new peeps a month. a month. I dunno, I like that Romney does his homework, but his strategy is kinda weak.

And yes, I believe  that the statistical shenanigans that  all the polls have gone through this election is evidence that if these polling firms want to retain any credibility at all, they're going to have to simplify and/or streamline their polling process.  Especially if they want to keep their reputation as having mathematical  reproducability  (I say that because they like to claim they use statistical science to get their results).

Walker just proved that his budget fixes are working ($108 million into the rainy day fund) and State wide we're getting fired up to put the R's back in control of the Senate in time for the new year.

The GOTV is fine tuned and ready to go and the WIGOP leadership (walker, Ryan, Priebus, Thompson, Johnson) are going to cover this State over these last few weeks like their lives depended on it.

That WI poll is very interesting.  They undersampled whites (86% vs. 89% in   '0 .  They undersampled the age 30-44 demographic (17% vs. 29% in '0 .    They also grossly oversampled Independents (29% in '08 vs. 38% in this   survey).  Since this election is a base turnout contest the latter point might   be the most significant.  Had they correctly sampled the white demographic   the headline would have been Romney +1.  It also goes without saying that   Republicans are more enthusiastic than Democrats and that Romney will   obtain a higher percentage of Democrat crossover votes than vice-versa for   Obama.  All other things being equal or evened out it could be that a proper   weighting would have resulted in Romney + 3.  That aside, however, the key   point here, and it would be lost on liberals, is that in '08 Obama won WI by a   colossal margin.  That four years later it's a competitive swing state speaks   volumes.  But there's still plenty of work to do.  Obama won't go quietly into   the night.
