— Ace @diworsity on Twitter reminded me about why the left is pushing the Seamus on the Room (but Not on Saffron Rice) story: When Democrats push this story out to people in focus groups, they react hostilely to it, and Romney's favorables go down.
So this is not completely just Happy Fun Time.
So.... that's me justifying these real pictures and/or photoshops.

Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate:
I mean ... we're talking about the most primitive sorts of human notions, here. This stuff is barbaric, literally. And that was how Barky came through all of his formative years - not one or two, but FIVE!! Almost all of elementary school ... the time when his most basic world-views and personality were formed ... deformed.
The dog-eating is almost a step up from the "ancient [really, primitive, since there are other ancient notions that are not primitive] animist" faith and the idea that you take on the power of what you eat. WTFFFF?

What an old-fashioned American upbringing Barack Obama had. I can totally relate.
I have many fond memories of going out to the trash heaps of Indonesia with one of the natives Mom was fucking and bashing dogs to death with broken kitchen appliances for their meat.
For dessert, we would jam sticks into anthills until they were covered with crawling treats and lick them clean.
He used to tell me, "Baah-rahk, froutyurn n'chow bleesi *click* drestooni far borutu *click**click*"

Yeah.
Romney won't be hurt as much by mockery, and he could possibly benefit from it a bit, because it makes him seem a little less robotic.
But Obama's ego cannot handle it. "They treat me like a dog!", he'll whine.

...you can't change that. And that Obama ate a dog doesn't counter-balance. It's useful to throw those pushing the Romney hit off-stride, but at the end of the day it's not as damaging.
Personally, I think in context the Romney story is understandable--and I love my dog. But if you hear it and it convinces you Romney's a shit heel, then the Obama eating a dog won't swing you back.

I really think most people would think this is completely "meh," but the fact they've gotten defensive about it is actually what makes it effective. There's a natural inclination to believe "methinks they do protest too much," and that if there was no "there" there, the Obama Camp would have ignored it. Since they didn't ignore it, there must be something there, so this is something. (It makes sense if you turn off your brain and then read it real fast- or simulate a 'moderate')
So only by just allowing it to die down and go away will they prevent any further damage, but one mention of "Seamus the dog" will immediately bring it back.

The only possible answers are either to claim that an avg american 10yr kid doesnt know he shouldnt eat dog, which we know is BS. ORRRR the other answer, Obama wasnt your average AMERICAN kid (snicker, snicker)

The fact that they're on the defensive for once is truly amazing. If Romney can go all offense all the time, these fuckers won't know what to do. Even when these bastards have no material to go offensive with, they manufacture something.
They have no idea how to play defense and they have no record to defend, so watching them lose control of this narrative is truly a spectacle to behold.

I stopped to look around the blogs I frequent and I find that the universe is suddenly full of dog-as-food jokes (and I note that Instapundit has my Bo discoviering "It's a cookbook" in the top line right now).
If Obama had a record to run on instead of run from this would all be different. Instead of being able to point to some accomplishment of an enemy defeated, a great public work (space program or a pipeline bringing in cheap energy), or even a somewhat-growing economy, he has nothing. He is forced to buff up his Soviet-style "Hope" image, demonize Romney and throw up a smokescreen of distracting trivial issues. This dog thing breaks a leg off that stool quite completely.
I take back what I said about Romney winning by 10 point. It will be 15 and the demoralization of the Democrats spills downward to the point that the Republicans take the Senate as well.

Yep. I've long suspected this. Buy the books, put 'em in a warehouse while the book shoots up the best-seller lists and puts a lot of royalty cash in Barky's pocket, then sell 'em later.
A political boost, and probably made some money on the deal too. Remember that Barry bought his house with a subprime mortgage, which he paid off shortly afterwards when the royalty checks came in. Almost like he knew he'd be coming into some money (or is hopelessly imprudent financially).

This dog eating story isn't an attack on Jugears, it's a counterattack. They thought they could coyly put these photos out about how much he loves his dog and what a kind owner he is while contrasting that with the ogre Mitt Romney who has such little regard for his pet that he stuck him on the roof of this car. It's blown up in his face, just like his attempt to portray Ann Romney as out of touch.
Also keep in mind that Jugears has really only had one competitive election in his entire life and he got steamrolled in that one. Every other election he's been either unopposed, had his minions eliminate his opponent, or had extremely favorable circumstances combined with a hapless opponent.

On the Obama-Biden campaign website, Bo is featured because it is the
third anniversary of his adoption. “It’s a promise Barack made to his
daughters--that if he won the election in November 2008, he would buy
them their long-awaited puppy. On April 14, 2009, Barack followed
through on his promise to Malia and Sasha--the Obamas welcomed Bo into
their home,” says the campaign of the Portuguese water dog.

Yep. And this one was probably legal(ish), unlike Hillary's bullshit futures trade, which obviously resulted from someone buying both ends of the future, giving her the one in the money, and eating the other one.

* Obama sitting in Jeremiah Wright's church for 20+ years? Big yawn.
* Obama advocating for Derrick Bell and his lunatic critical race theory? Booooring!
* Obama offering our defense secrets to the Russians? Zzzzzzz....
* Obama ate dog as a kid? OMG OMGOMGOMGOIJE)J!@!!!
It's sad really. Hilarious, but sad.

That was a small hit on MTV back in the 80s due to a viewer vote on who would win a record contract. (When they actually played music videos.) Sadly, I can still remember the lyrics without even watching the video.

I'm amazed so many people had an issue at all with the Seamus story, to me it was no different than someone letting a dog hang their head out of a car window, but regardless, the Left really planned on making it a cornerstone of the Obama campaign.

Not a hunter, but I know hunters who revere their dogs. What they don't do is eat them. What they do do is put them in dog carriers attached to the outside of the vehicle. You might say its the norm.

Because Barky is always the central figure in everything, even something as seemingly unrelated as a father buying his children a puppy. It's not about the dog or the kids, don't you know, it's about the father's success. And all families name their puppy after the father's initials, right?
I would just love to read the psychological profiles on this guy. I'm sure governments the world over have assessed this jackhat, as well as some of our own agencies.

It's going to be funny when they write the history of this and opine that other than the whole SCOAMF thing, Obama lost because (1) he thought all Pubs would run pussy campaigns like McCain and (2) he didn't think our side was capable of communicating a robust sense of humor.
