47 oh, a goody thing, from Yahoo news:

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin released a statement on her Facebook page accusing President Obama of engaging in "shuck and jive shtick" regarding last month's attack in Benghazi, Libya.

"Why the lies? Why the cover up? Why the dissembling about the cause of the murder of our ambassador on the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks on American soil? We deserve answers to this. President Obama's shuck and jive shtick with these Benghazi lies must end," Palin wrote.

For those who aren't familiar with the phrase, "shuck and jive" is a racially-tinged expression. According to the user-submitted Urban Dictionary, the term "originally referred to the intentionally misleading words and actions that African-Americans would employ in order to deceive racist Euro-Americans in power, both during the period of slavery and afterwards."

As Politico points out, this isn't the first time the phrase has come up and inspired controversy. Several years ago, Andrew Cuomo, then New York's Attorney General, used the expression while campaigning for Hillary Rodham Clinton. "You can't shuck and jive at a press conference. All those moves you can make with the press don't work when you're in someone's living room."

as defined by urban dictionary: http://tinyurl.com/3aarrr

I'm surprised she wasn't accused of being antisemitic for saying "shtick".

50 MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, which was started to show Orioles and Nats games when the latter moved from Montreal) is showing game 4 of the 1997 AL Division Series.  Early in the game they showed Al Gore in the stands with his son.  Holy moly, did he look (a) younger; and (b) slimmer.

Speaking of Al Gore being slimmer, the Senate's vice presidential bust collection is still without Gore and Dick Cheney.  A sculptor has been hired to do both busts.  However, the goal of the collection is to VPs as they looked when VP.  While the sculptor has the advantage of having both of them still around, he faces the challenge of putting weight on Cheney and taking weight off Gore.

Kim Chol, the vice-minister of the army, was taken into custody earlier this year on the orders of Kim Jong-un, who assumed the leadership after his father died in December. On the orders of Mr Kim to leave "no trace of him behind, down to his hair", Kim Chol was forced to stand on a spot that had been zeroed in for a mortar round and was "obliterated", South Korean media reported.

With the aid of deep data and a great fully-integrated data and communication software suite, we will be counting individual votes in critical counties in swing states and directing the GOTV effort to make sure we win them. It's almost exactly what we would do for GOTV in a local or regional election, except with much better technology and on the biggest scale imaginable. 104 Almost and maybe even better than KFC coleslaw:

16oz bag of coleslaw cabbage (I like the tri-color)
2 Tbsp Tarragon Vinegar (Heinz makes it)
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup mayonaise
1 tsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp sugar

The tarragon vinegar is key.  mix the sauce together first and then pour over the slaw.  Refrigerate at least 4 hours to make it cool.

It's slightly less-sweet than KFC, but it's close and very good.

202 logprof, when TSN is showing Slapshot do they show the nudity?

(When I was in university there was an annual trip to Calgary to watch the Oilers and Flames and it was miracle we brought everyone back each time since the bus trip, 3 hours each way, was BYOB but no glass.  On the way to Cowtown they always showed Slapshot.  The bus was always majority guys.  Whenever the topless scene came on the whole bus would go silent and every male pair of eyes would be staring at a TV screen.)

203 It is kinda crazy that Toronto -- the biggest city in the most hockey-obsessed country on the planet -- only gets 1 team and NYC -- where the Rangers battle for 6th after Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, and Knicks -- has 3 teams. A good season and the Rangers can bump the Knicks for 5th.

Bart, I do use the enter key as well but everything always shows up together.  I have been posting on here for years now, and all these things used to work on their own, but haven't for awhile.

Apparently Excel and Word Perfect don't require me to use brackets for editing stuff, because that's what I work on all day.  Sorry for bothering you guys.  I won't let it happen again.

209 OK, I am a moron.  But I really enjoyed curling during the Winter Olympics.  It's like bowling, on ice.  I would love to try it.

But is curling anything like spooning?

One of the co-founders of RIM tried to bring a competitor to Hamilton (fairly close to Toronto, similar in distance as New Haven is to NYC) and was rebuffed. 235 Curling is fine. But it's only in the Olympics cause there are so few ice/snow sports. They kinda gotta reach. It's Bocce Ball on ice. It's like making darts, billiards, and croquet Olympic sports. And maybe they should. Though if darts became an Olympic sport within 4 years the Chinese would dominate instead the fat Brits. Fat drunken Brits are much more fun to watch though.

"Yea, you might want to call the San Francisco Zoo, because there's a Panda on the loose and it's out there killing Tigers!!"

Don't be hatin' Dave. Your Rangers may be the kings of choke in the big games but they are great in the regular season!!

Just like 2010 we Ginat's fans have to hear the adoring press tell how "great" the Rangers are or the Red's or (fill in the blank)!!

This time it's Verlander!! We kicked his ass in the All Star game and did it again last night!

Enough with the hatin' just give the Giant's credit for having a "team" mentality, cause spend all the money you want (hear that Dodger's and Yankee's) unless you play unselfish, team ball you are destined to keep losing to the guys that do!!

Go Giant's!!
