Good afternoon Morons and Moronettes! SilverGTP here; its been a busy week and we have a load of content, so put on your reading hat and enjoy.

This week's topics include an E3 announce rumor, Minecraft-themed wedding, bad news hits Diablo 3, Doom 3 BFG edition details, games that benefit from adding a Portal gun, and EVE Online.

Starting this week I will be writing about my experience as an EVE noob in nullsec space. Zakn and his corp buddies have been training me so I've enjoyed a huge advantage. It's almost like having cheat codes. First up, here's a photo essay of a Minecraft-themed wedding. I think it's rather festive and tastefully done.

Diablo 3 players got a bit of bad news last week. The real-money auction house has been delayed again. The new launch date is June 12.

Bethesda announced the September 30 release of Doom 3 BFG edition. This is the first Doom game to appear on the PS3 and it includes Doom 1 and 2. The announcement trailer looks pretty good:

A big E3 rumor was announced yesterday concerning a new Microsoft product. According to this unconfirmed rumor, MS is set to reveal an Xbox Smart Glass Tablet. Time will tell if it's true, but it does fit with previous intel about future Xbox integration with portable devices. Windows Phone 7 is still slated to get Xbox integration sometime this year, possibly within the fall update.

Yesterday rdbrewer posted a thread entitled, "Removal of Costa Concordia to Begin". Trolling the comments like I do, I find this gem:

I've been playing EVE Online for less than a month but I'm already in nullsec. I joined Zakn's corp and he's been training me, so it's been pretty easy so far. Everyone talks about how difficult EVE is but it isn't difficult, if you have lots of help. I have a fitted Rifter and Firetail and I'm eagerly awaiting my first fleet battle. If you want to get the most out of EVE, play with friends!

I have been working a ton, so for the last two weeks we haven't done any Gaming with Morons stuff. Apologies for that, we'll try and work something out for when I work. We are getting numbers that would jive well for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, so If someone is experianced in doing multi-player on that hit me up, and i'll give you posting powers to the Community.

If you want to feel old, here's your fun fact of the day: Wolfenstein 3D is 20 years old. Also Dune 2. I remember downloading the Wolfenstein 3D demo over a 2400 baud modem. It took most of an hour. It was around 750kb. After that. Doom 2 is 20 years old September 2014. Fun note, it was re-released for XBLA in 2010. If you have a GiantBomb premium account, they were/are going to do a series where Brad is doing Doom 2 on Ultraviolence level. It's quite insane since the drops and the ammo do not scale to the amount of mobs that spawn, so it forces you to be strategic.

I know I know, Lawn get off it blah blah blah

It's E3 week, so there isn't much this week that isn't firewalled/embargo'd etx. Apparently the SpyHunter franchise is going to be relaunched for 3DS and Vita.

The Humble Indie Bundle Pack V!

People had been talking about this on the Twitters, but I really didn't look into it much. Until I finished this weeks Bombcast and they were talking about a game called Amnesia. It's a Survival Horror Game that looks really good. So I went to their site and watched the Quick look

(I would embed, but their code is a bit onerous, and I'm not in the mood to break the blog) Then I went and watched a vid about the Humble Indie Bundle V

Definitely gonna pick it up. If you want to check the demo of Amnesia out you can do that here. Don't buy it on Steam though, Buy it through the Humble Indie Bundle dudes.

Max Payne 3 is now out for PC. I have not purchased it yet due to Monies and generally playing a shitload of Diablo 3 and Eve.

Eve Stuff. Not a whole lot is going on up in my neck of the woods, but I can't not link this fight. This fight was between Test/PL and Nulli Secunda. This fight spurned 3 days of bad posting fury on Kugu. You can watch the whole thing and listen to a chill Shadoo FC'ing, or skip to the 12 minute mark where Mister Vee does his patented bomber-fu do devastating effect. 1080 fullscreen it, all that shiz.

Silver and Myself are going to be at Eve Vegas this year. Unfortunately the cheap tickets have been bought out, but if you play Eve and don't feel like flying to Iceland, this looks like a good option to hang out with some Eve Nerds and meet some Devs. Eve Vegas Site

I promised I would bring up the DFW Eve Meetup which is Friday.

Lastly a little bit on Kerbal Space Program. I kicked them some cash, so I have the new version. Definitely going to have to play some more. I'm not going to comment on all the changes they made, as I haven't played enough but they added a new orbital body and a ton of modules. Going to play some more of it. I totally recommend a download and a test run. I showed it to a friend of mine at work, and now him and his son are playing it a bunch. It's definitely not the easiest game, but I will tell you the first time I made it to the Mun, I was a smug mofo.

3 I've been doing KSP since the fuel tanks had a waist on them. Because the flight modeling is utterly broken, I recommend just familiarizing yourself with the various parts for later. The aerospike engine, though not allowing a lower decoupler, is particularly good for first stages. Higher thrust and also fuel efficiency. Also appears to be crush resistant - which also helps in big first stages. The fuel lines currently are a bit buggy - trying to dump 2 or more lines into one target tank gets buggy when that target tank drains into another. Try to keep it 1 to 1 until the center/last engine. Also take a look at the hardpoints and pylon decouplers - they're excellent as spacers in some more complex booster arrangements. And turbojets are horribly unbalanced in that they give way too much thrust for fuel. They're also very twitchy since they are gimballed to fuck and back. I can provide a craft file for my more complex boosters if anyone wants - 100% stock (for full version).

4 Addendum - my mention of the "flight" modeling is the aerodynamic modelling - the plane parts aren't working quite right and that whole addon of the spaceplane stuff isn't really worth it right now. The booster stuff is, though.

Bought Diablo 3, but my stupid stupid laptop doesn't have enough video card to run it. And it's not an old laptop.

7 I made my first landing on the new, smaller moon Minmus in Kerbal Space program. The folks in the forums aren't kidding when they say it's easier than landing in the Mun. The only real trick is in the plane change maneuver; Minmus is not on the ecliptic. But I've been practicing plane changes in my futile attempts at orbital rendezvous (which still eludes me), so it wasn't hard. The new patched conics display in the map mode is nice, too; you can tell whether the Mun is going to catch you in this orbit and take steps to adjust it instead of just waiting to see.

Haven't done much WoW or Diablo lately. Seems like whenever I fire up Kerbal Space Program, a couple of hours fly by without me noticing. Had that game been available when I was in high school, I never would have become a productive member of society.

9 Wild Tangents Blackhawk Striker 2 is awesome. I finally defeated the enemy bogie in mission four this morning. I got bumped to The Final Mission level. It has taken three years !!! Old game but lots of fun besides I am a master now!!!!! whoop whoop whoopie!

My two oldest played Minecraft for the first time this week. They were at a friends house and tried to download it (with my permission but not my input) when they got home. After a hour of running SpyBot SaD and backing out all the extras that came with the download, they've decided that maybe they should just buy a copy.

I think I asked last week and you said you weren't part of the official AoSHQ guild on WoW, is that correct? Since I've had no luck finding Army of Morons guildees on at the same time I am, I'm considering starting a new guild. Does that cost in terms of real money or anything? Also, I'd be willing to take AoSHQ themed name suggestions.

19 Doom3 for PS3? I'm all over that. I never could get reasonable frame-rates from the PC release of Doom3. This console version in HD and 5.1 sounds perfect. The sound system in my living room is way better than at the computer anyway.

20 I preordered and have been beta testing The Secret World, it seems pretty solid and unique so far. I watched the trailer for Hitman: Absolution and I think more games now need gun-toting latex clad dominatrix nuns... I think the Moronverse would approve.

26 I caught mention of the Humble Bundle yesterday on teh Twitters and downloaded it. I started with LIMBO, a black and white 2D game and it blew a hole in my Saturday. For a game with basically 5 controls it is incredibly addictive. Your character, a kid, wakes up in the woods. You make your way through a gritty world filled with giant spiders, bear traps, bugs that tunnel into your brain and alter your controls & shadowy Lord of the Flies-type trying to kill you. This game is worth the cost of the bundle alone, though it is pretty short. I just started Amnesia but that grass isn't gonna cut itself.

28 Amnesia: The Dark Descent and its prequels and sequels are great if you like survival horror. On Youtube MangaMinx has some great LetsPlay walkthroughs, including her marvelous freakouts. Includes the birthplace of "Mr. Face." GoldGloveLetsPlays has a triple play of Amnesia. He and two of his friends each play the game in parallel. Amazingly good. Those will give you a great idea how to play the game, i.e. pants-wetting terrified.

I am not, no. I have Alliance toons on Staghelm and Horde toons on Icecrown. IIRC, the AoSHQ guild is on a PvP server. I suck at PvP; barely competent at PvE, and that only because I'm a loner who just likes to while away a lazy evening killing skinnables.

My Horde toons are on Icecrown because that's where Mrs. Chronda plays and she insisted. I created the Alliance toons on Staghelm when I got tired of her stealing all my gold.

Add up all of the benefits of having an XBL Gold account and it becomes very worthwhile. Especially if you keep an eye out for the discounts. My current 12-month subscription works out to about $2.40 a month. The weekly sales requiring a Gold account make it worth the cost by themselves.

This is coming from someone who has zero interest in online multi-player. Back when that was the main thing you got from an XBL Gold account I didn't bother. But the benefits have increased and the cost is pretty minor. Note that several of the streaming services other than Netflix and Hulu are free if you have a Gold account.

35 The Smart Glass app is something I predicted when Nintendo first announced the Wii U a year ago. All any existing tablet would need to do the same stuff Nintendo was demoing was a single applet to let them talk with the console or PC. Plus, Nintendo's tablet controller has very little local processing power to keep the cost down. This is why Nintendo is reluctant to have more than one in use at a time on the same console. All of the heavy lifting is in the console and it could get very slow driving both the tablet and HDTV displays if they're both doing anything intensive.

The typical Windows, iPad, or Android tablet is going to have a lot more local processing capability, so having multiple players each with their own tablet won't be a problem.

The real question is how this makes for a good game. The concepts for applying this have been very limited to date. Nintendo already tried a wired version of this with the GameCube and GameBoy Advance. There were a whopping two games, a Pac-man multi-player variant and a multi-player subset of a Zelda game. Nobody could come up with anything more that justified gathering together all of the needed hardware.

Oh man, I remember DOOM well. Brand new laptop with 4MB of RAM. Had to have a friend "fiddle" with MSDOS to get it able to run DOOM. It was a very addicting game.

Lol, John used to use his incredible money-making skills to outfit me on DDO as well as IRL. He left about a half-million in platinum when He died, after playing for only about a year, a life-insurance policy of sorts for the virtual realm as well.

I have one toon of each race on Hellscream and DrawAndStrike has a human paladin as well, not that I've met up with him. What do you think of starting a new guild?

I have no problem with that. Deckodense, my only toon on Hellscream, is level 1. Just logged in and had a mailbox full of pets that I had to run out to Dolanaar to retrieve (yes, a night elf; I'm so so boooooring).

Also, I'm not on much lately because I keep killing intrepid Kerbonauts in Kerbal Space Program.

That explains why one of my Horde characters was being harrassed to join a guild. I think they thought I was messing with them when I said I was waiting for an invite to a guild where people like pudding for external application and ewoks with garbage fetishes.

Do you think I can use my alt toons as signatures or do they go by IP address or something.

Ah. Well, you have to have an account for which you're paying the monthly fee. You also won't be able to start a guild or level past (IIRC) 20. I don't know how much communication you'll be able to do.

Problem they're trying to address is the gold farmers using disposable free accounts to sell gold and spam folks with adverts.

No Talk about Dawngaurd? Skyrim's expansion pack was announced, and its a sign of what DLC should look like. 2 massive quest lines, several new abilities, new mounts, more crafting. This isn't new multiplayer maps and one new weapon selling for 15 bucks.

Considering Skyrim had upwards of 200 hours of content, I'm guessing that if it is like Shivering Isles for Oblivion, we are looking at another 20-30 hours of content. Mass Effect 3 on the other hand had about 20 hours of content, and cost (at least) 60 bucks. :p

Polliwog,

Vampires does seem to be a central aspect of it. Mainly, a fight that involves a powerful group of vampires and a powerful group of vampire hunters, and an Elder Scroll. How that plays within the overall picture of Skyrim, dunno.

1.6 is fixing quite a few bugs, including the nirnroot lighting bug. (Why that took to 1.6 I don't know.) I think the worst of bugs are gone, but they really need to go cleaning up quests. 69 Well, since I have been summoned, how about my at-the-time mini-review of Doom 3: 1) You are in a maze of tiny little passages, all alike. 2) I know it's supposed to be dark, but I think I'm getting Seasonal Affective Disorder. 3) It's like an extremely well-made, giant haunted house on halloween, except that exactly the same trap is in every room. A door opens and someone yells BOO! In every room. Over. And Over. It's not scary anymore, it's annoying, try something else. The 37th time an imp jumps out of an invisible broom closet behind you it's not creepy. 4) Actually needs more atmosphere. Some of those whispering voices, the mirror trick, these things were actually creepy. If the designers had thought more about "hell encroaching on reality" and done more things like ghosts, especially the ancients, especially interactive things, stuff that moves by itself, shadows and whispers - it could have been really creepy. As I said they had a few, but it trailed off as the game went on. The part where the whispering voice said "they took my baby" freaked me out, but after that it was just screaming and gore. There are some good things about the game. I really do hope the aftermarket community takes off. I'll probably wait for HL2 to check out the lipsynch software and physics engine. I'm not so much into the gore, but even Deus Ex 2 had more interesting "falling bodies."

70 And, for the humor, my mini-review of the hero of Doom 3 - the Space Marine! Is our friendly neighborhood Space Marine a Special Olympian? Hear me out here (I'll do my best to avoid spoilers): Many have posted concerning some apparent discrepancies in the game that are difficult to explain. The Marine's behavior seems to be contradictory, even foolish at times. I believe I have explained these issues. Our Marine is a bit of a Forrest Gump. Rides the small bus, if you know what I mean. Shocked? I think I can prove it: 1. He never speaks. If he did, it would be obvious immediately that he suffers from a congenital developmental disorder. 2. The flashlight. Anyone with an IQ > room temperature would not, while crawling about in dark spaces, hit things with their one and only flashlight. 3. The flashlight again. Normal people would either use a Harries carry or duct-tape the flashlight to their helmet, shoulder pad, belt, John Thomas, or whatever. Our marine has not figured this out. 4. In cutscenes, or hero frequently either stands dumbfounded as a monster eats someone in front of him, or, hearing horrible noises, walks calmly into the open and looks around, oblivious to danger. 5. Short-sleeved armor on an alien planet. Special Marine Corps. 6. Oxygen. Many theories have been put forward regarding our hero's 40-second trips into the Martian wilderness. Seeing as he doesn't actually have an environment suit, the only possible explanation would seem to be that he is holding his breath. But he is clearly breathing. So what is the explanation? Our hero is too dumb to tell when he should and shouldn't breathe, and he is trying to breathe the martian atmosphere. He probably can't swim either. 7. Mars has 40% of Earth's gravity. Our hero has just come from Earth to Mars. And yet he can only jump two feet into the air, can't climb objects, and can't jump forward more than 5 to 6 feet. Why do you think they have a seperate Olympics? 8. Running. Our hero can't run very fast or even very far without becoming too tired to go on. A Marine? A Special Marine, meeting the Special requirements of the Special Marine Corps. 9. Why is our hero the only one who is never possessed by demons? When they attempt to strike a bargain for his soul, he doesn't understand. Notice how everyone else who isn't posessed only use short sentences and keep repeating themselves. The conversation in the instant of possession goes something like this: Demon: I have power to offer you your heart's desire, anything you wish. Marine: I already had my chicken pot-pie today. No thank you. Demon: I'm offering you immortality, power over entire worlds, satisfied greed, slaked lust... Marine: Wopner is on at 5. I can't miss Wopner. Demon: Oh, I give up. 10. Clomps his feet, even when walking slowly. I think that speaks volumes, don't you? This theory would also explain why there are no secondary fire modes. There are, but he can't figure them out. 74 And now, having taken over the thread entirely with massive word walls: I know it seems I rag on games a lot. I can be pretty critical. Some all-time favorite games: Deus Ex Invisible War and Thief 3: Deadly Shadows Purists often prefer earlier games and complain of missing features or lack of difficulty. I play a game primarily for the story and to see what happens, and for the sense of mood created in the game. The ideas and background in these games makes them a "happy place" for me. I tend to play both in a "stealthy" way, not optional in T

S. The movement can be clumsy at times, so scenes involving rapidity can be annoying. Bioshock - well-balanced gameplay for a shooter, unique environment, story-driven. A little bit of "sledgehammer writing" especially at the end of 2, which is more than a little annoying, but engrossing environment and varied but simple gameplay. Mass Effect 1 and 2: Just great fun, though the impatient will have a hard time with #1 (and replay value is not as great), I loved the darned thing (except waiting in elevators). Hugely story-driven, wasted a ton of time reading the in-game encyclopedia (codex) and thinking about all those worlds and mysterious history. Too bad about the massive middle finger in #3, but there you go. Driving games: I don't have a game wheel anymore, so these are a pain now until I get another one. I was playing Fuel, Grid, and NFS: Undercover. Fuel has the biggest gameworld I've ever seen, it can be awesome to just drive around the world and see things. Many varied races, the vehicles are mostly "fantasy" and not real-world except the bikes and some quads. There's no real difficulty setting that does much, but the unofficial patch helps with vehicle control (which is kind of "French" in the stock game). The gameworld is BEAUTIFUL. Not kidding. Grid - I've been playing with the settings files on this game, which have a gigantic number of almost entirely obscure options with useless names. You can make NPC drivers complete idiots or insanely fast but I haven't been able to make small adjustments. The company, sadly, actively discourages modding, otherwise this would be AWESOME instead of just fun. NFS:U - The cars, Oh God the cars. I could play this just for customizing vehicles, forget the driving. The "modified stock" customizing that lets you alter the geometry of the stock body is insanely fun, wild paint options, very good rendering. Gameplay is a little frantic, with the typical "cops always chasing you" thing (yes, there's a mod for that). The big problem with PC driving games is controls. Designers should let you steer with the mouse, they almost never do, you use the arrow keys. There's a reason you don't steer your car with buttons. For strategy games, a less-well-known game I enjoyed is Sol Survivor. Vaguely starcraft-like, graphics not as polished (as SC2) but high resolution is a bonus, it's a tower-defense game where you protect populations from invaders that follow specific paths. One of the differences in this game is having "characters" that have specific sets of towers with different capabilities, and the ability to call in airstrikes, orbital lasers, etc. Never got the hang of higher difficulties, resources seem too rare, but at lower diffs it's fine. As with anything, if you hear of a game that sounds interesting, a good thing to do is what gameplay videos on YouTube. They won't tell you everything, but you can get a feel for it. I still have no interest in Diablo 3 becase: a) always online, b) checkpoint saves, c) reports do not sound good. Max Payne 3 had a preview out in a magazine last year and it looked AWFUL, it's hard to tell from the trailers. Will wait for more gameplay footage, it seems very much a "console game."

75 Went back to the beginning with pc Mass Effect 1 and 2 (have not played 3 yet, deliberately) and was more careful (as a paragon). A more meticulous play (surprise!) resulted in a more satisfying play. 2 was so much more efficient from a keyboard and story pov, but that was just a bonus, not a criticism of 1. The romantic tantalizers were interesting, even for an old guy. The progression of each game was smooth and interesting. I love using the sniper rifle to kill long distance. Very nice. It was fun learning how to position my team-mates. There were no stupid things which frustrate players, such as artificially spending an hour looking for something. The Leftist influence on the story was minimal but present, but not obnoxious. Par for the course. It has been really fun and compelling. Re-playing 1 and 2 has made a lot of sense, and is more fun because of the experience ... I play at veteran level, and the challenge is perfect, the right amount of excitement. When I finish 2 I look forward to 3.

78 Console vs. PC It's not about the hardware, mostly, though controls are. It's about gameplay. Console games tend to be short in duration, relatively linear (that "on rails" plot), and the camera tends to be controlled separately from the character movement. Also for some reason 3rd-person shooters are more popular than 1st person, which I find immensely annoying. 20-30% of your screen is taken up by the backside of your character. I guess I get that for some games but I don't need to watch Max Payne's ass all day, I just don't. Controls tend to be limited and contextual - because there aren't that many buttons. An example of the limits is the "Everything Button" in Mass Effect 3 - it stood in for run, slide, duck, jump, hurdle, open, talk, and activate. It loved to do one when you meant to do another, like when you try to run down a hall and it flattens you against a wall (open to be shot), or when you try to push a button and it ducks behind an obstacle. The contextual part almost bothers me more, I found Assasin's Creed almost unplayable on PC (partly because of the insanely drawn-out menus/cutscenes), when it came time to move and fight the game would arbitrarily change what a button does in the middle of an action. They tried to be clever and IMHO failed. I don't like part of the "challenge" of a game being the controls malfunctioning, I don't have time for that. The camera issue creates what I call "camera lossage," where the camera focuses somewhere other than what you want automatically. Sometimes you can "fix" this with a camera control, but it's an interruption. Sometimes it's too late. Also, console games are designed to be played with no control capable of pointing. Pointing is a basic human behavior and I find it hard to accomplish things without it. Console controllers don't have a pointing device - you can move a joystick to move a cursor, but you can't instinctively just put the cursor on something. That's one of the reasons adventure games are dying, no particular way to do them on a console. That's what happened to the Bethesda interface between Morrowind and Skyrim. Morrowind had a great PC interface (maybe not as artsy as it could be), but it was a huge pain on consoles. Oblivion tried to halfway it, and got complaints from both sides. The skyrim interface was made for consoles and it was a huge pain in the ass on a PC (unless you used a console controller). The mods for the interface on Skyrim have unfortunately only fixed half the problem, because Bethesda used very expensive proprietary software to make the menus and did a bit of a hack job on the coding (which the devs admitted on the forums), so reverse-engineering them has been a challenge. I'm not saying "doing it right" is easy for the developers, just saying that doing it wrong pisses me right the **** off. I've already sworn off *ever* pre-ordering a game or buying it before seeing gameplay and menus again.

81 Partly the reason for swearing off Bioware is the *company's* behavior WRT ME3, as much as the game itself. They have possibly the worst PR team (with a couple of exceptions) in the entire universe, all of the sudden. They managed to take a big crowd of pissed-off gamers and make them an even bigger crowd of even more pissed-off gamers, which is not really the right way to do PR.

94 I second the recommendation of Limbo. It's a side-scroller puzzle game with a wicked sense of humor. If you are looking for mech games (outside of the FASA license) Armored Core V just came out. I haven't played it yet, but it's getting good reviews. Dawnguard looks like it's going to somewhat emulate Shivering Isles. Molag Bal is the father of vampires and several of the screenshots look like they're from his realm of ColdHarbor. There are four corners to the house of troubles. We've already covered Mehrune Dagon in Oblivion and Sheogorath in Shivering Isles, only Molag Bal and Malacath are left. (This is just speculation, but I see a couple of spots where Malacath can easily tie into the Dawnguard faction. We *might* be looking at a two-fer.)

112 Mass Effect 3 was extremely good, right up until the last five minutes. Which isn't to say it was perfect. The dev team got hugely carried away with cut-scenes, for one. But there were some truly great moments that rank right up there with Virmire, taking the Mako into the conduit, playing Joker, discoving why the colonists had been kidnapped, etc. Play it. Have fun. The ending sucks beyond redemption, but there's a lot of win before you hit that point.

While there is a bit of control options on the console, the consoles currently have tech that is 2 generations behind what most people's custom built PC's are capable of, and at least a full generation behind what you are going to find at Best Buy. The next gens might get slightly caught up, but not really. They "might" take advantage of DX10. Now I have a DX10 card...... that is a generation old in the pc world. I don't feel the need to upgrade, because the law of diminishing returns really hits.

As far as the interface issues in Skyrim, yeah, that might have been the laziest port I've ever seen, though the new port of Dark Souls looks to be even lazier (if that were possible.) Now that the mods are out, for the most part, Skyrim is a game I love.

147 Limbo is truly great. I got the Xbox version on a disc along with Trials HD and Splosion Man. Two other great little arcade games. It can be found for as little as ten bucks in some places if they still have it.

Barring that, if your PC is up to snuff, that indie bundle is great value. Every one of those games is worth the price of the whole bundle.

And as far as ME3, again, without giving spoilers, they basically made the entire series irrelevant. When I finished both 1 and 2, I instantly felt the need to play it again with different variables. When I finished 3, I didn't want to. I played ME1 and 2 over 100 hours a peice. I don't even want to touch those anymore, so ruined is the series. If you played the game for the story, you really aren't going to like what they've done.

Also, the way they ruined Ash as a character is just outright criminal. She lost all depth, and gained boobs. There's a reason almost everyone "picked" her in ME1.

The simple sad fact is that the company that made the first mass effect no longer exists. Sure, they have the name Bioware. But they've laid 3 fat turds with DA2, ME3, and SW:TOR.

Now we turn to CD Projekt hoping they are the next truly great company.

They have this tiny ass animal reserve that only cost $3 for adults to get in and all the animals are in small enclosures so you can see them. They have 3 black bears and when we were there (the fence is 5 feet from the sidewalk) one bear was up against the fence looking at us and the second bear came charging down the hill and attacked it. We think he thought we were feeding him. Holy shit it was the coolest thing ever. They fought for 5 minutes and they were five feet from us.

Seriously, you are ever near there, it is worth it. So cool.

196 Ran my first RPG (real one, with pencils and paper and dice) with a remote player finally. It was interesting, we hooked up the camera to Skype and he was able to play while we did, him in Manchester England and use in Oregon. I've played online with Maptools before, using skype to talk, but this was a lot easier. It went pretty well, and I think this will work out.

198 The Secret World is in beta at Funcom and releases July Third unless you pre-order and then you can start playing in June 29th. I have been playing the beta and there has not been a game like this before. You have to have a browser search engine to find answers to puzzles. Lots of puzzles.
