Hey, How About Another Poll Analysis Post?
— Ace

Bit of an update to the earlier post -- Obama might be cutting losses in Colorado and Virginia as well.

One thing I wanted to note was Romney's strengthening position in Ohio. I didn't want to get my hopes up when I read this, from Mark Halperin, via Hot Air:

HereÂ’s why some Democrats are worried tonight. If Romney wins the three Southern battlegrounds (FL, NC, and VA) and OH, he is at 266 electoral votes. Leaving the other five battlegrounds unallocated, that means Obama would be at 237 and Romney would only need to win one of the remaining five states to get to 270+Â…

One senior Democratic official expressed real concern tonight unlike I have heard before about Ohio potentially slipping away from Obama (the state has been trending Republican in statewide races, Rob Portman has become a force, religious and gun groups are flooding the state with voter contacts, two of RomneyÂ’s top strategists have recently won a statewide race there, etc).

Okay. That's just one report, so I didn't want to go kookoobananas on it. Ohio worries me.

But now Peter Hamby reports (first link, above):

The buzz from Columbus: Ohio race was reset by Romney's first debate (and he may have even been up heading into debate #2)

Buzz? It does seem likely that Democrats are providing this buzz; and it's possible we still only have the one source, the one senior Democrat, leaking to both men. And this may be based on a single Obama internal poll.

Still.

So: I'm still worried about Ohio, and I have long thought it simply is a Democratic state now, and still want Romney to make a strong play for Wisconsin and Michigan -- I don't want so many eggs in this Ohio basket -- but it does seem like maybe Ohio is trending in our favor.

23 Ohio is more Republican than Wisconsin and a lot more than Michigan.

Remember, 2010 turnout was R+1.  2004 turnout was R+5.  Obama didn't win it by much in 2008 and only got it by running up the absentee vote totals.

Polls don't take GOTV into account.  I think we will win OH and WI though.

34 A video just appeared further substantiating my recent report, “Sharia-Medicine: Egyptian Clinic Treats People with Camel Urine,” which documents how several Islamic authorities praise the practice of drinking camel urine for good health—based on the advice of Muslim prophet Muhammad—and how in Egypt there is now even a clinic that treats people by giving them camel urine to drink. The video appeared on Dream TV, with talk show host Wael Ibrashi narrating. It shows men collecting camel urine in buckets and giving it to people who are, in Ibrashi’s words, “looking to be healed from influenza, diabetes, infectious diseases, infertility,” etc. Several women are shown drinking camel urine—and doing all they can to keep it down and not vomit. From weasel zippers. Hey this works for me, let all the muslims drink it.

Posted by: Joey Biden at October 17, 2012 01:58 PM (RIg+t)

44 You have to remember Romney's strategy in Ohio didn't start two months ago, it started two years ago. Take a look at the primary. Romney focused on places like Cuyahoga and other Dem strongholds to build his vote total. Santorum wiped him out in the rural areas and took the majority of the counties but Romney won the state based on bigger vote totals in the counties he got. He did this for a reason. He's never stopped building on that total because he knows if he is going to take Ohio from Obama he has to narrow the vote margin in those Dem strongholds like Cuyahoga and he's doing it. The early vote totals I have seen back this up. The rural votes were always going to the Republican candidate and Romney supercharged them with the first debate win. I feel pretty good about Ohio but it ain't over yet.

It had 55 in 2008....but tons of people have left CA since then.

54 I'd put Wisconsin in there too eventually. I am counting on our chance, besides Ohio, to be the states that rely less on urban machines for dem support, and more on the old school working class union type. The urban machine is strong as ever. The union machine? That one is sputtering. That's what we need to take advantage of. You hear Obama leave himself wide open on this every time he starts that riff of his where he sneers at certain jobs as beneath America and says we want more high skill high paying jobs. How does a President with his employment record have the stones to say stuff like that? It's about time for somebody to call him out on this. Bring out Mike Rowe, or whatever it takes. Hammer him on that mentality and you win these states Obama is trying to firewall, and you win the election.

I'm thinking the deadbeat types, those liking gubmint handouts may be staying home because, well, they have an unfortunate tendency to be lazy, and the 2008 excitement isn't there. The union types may get out and vote because there are a couple of pro union proposals. They're not particularly thrilled with TFG, but they might come out for union solidarity. Which means f**k everyone but us. There is also an environmental windfarm, solar power proposal, but really, not even most liberals give a rat's butt about that.

What I'm saying is that it appears Crowley coordinated with the Obama people on the Benghazi question before the debate and they alerted her to their intent to use the 9/12 Rose Garden statement.  If they didn't give it to her, why would she happen to have it?   Obama seems to know she has an actual copy of the statement on her.

That would be a  deeply  unethical and extreme violation of the debate rules.

Then what???? That could finally turn the tide, move the needle back to blue. Imagine if we finally have an economy based on teaching teachers to teach future teachers thereby to teaching teachers to teach? I know this isn't the right thread, but during the debate last night Romney said "government doesn't create jobs".  Then, when asked about difficulties for women in the marketplace, he mentioned how he hired a bunch of women while he was governor.  That's like affirmative action and nanny state in one statement, as far as I'm concerned.

Frankly, I was hoping for Santorum, even though I knew his chances were slim.  But this is why I couldn't go for Romney then, and I am stuck voting for him now, despite this pretty glaring contradiction.  I'm surprised the MSM isn't all over this one.  Or maybe it is, and I just haven't seen it yet.

It's not Romney, but Obama that MUST win Ohio to have a chance.  Romney can get to a win in the above scenario without Ohio (248 electoral votes), plus Colorado (9), Iowa (6), Nevada (6) = 269 (269 means President Romney, where tie is broken by House).  At this point I think Colorado and New Hampshire (4) are likely Romney.  Wisconsin (10) is also clearly up for grabs.  The fact is there is no plausible path to victory for Obama that does not include Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

ACE,

Ohio has voted predominantly Republican for the last couple decades, except for a scandal-ridden period (sitting governor convicted of ethics charges) from 2006/2008, which is when Sherrod Brown sneaked in.

In the most recent statewide elections in 2010, Ohio elected Kasich as governor; Portman overwhelmingly as Senator; and the entire slate of statewide candidates (replacing all the dems who took office in '06). Ohio leans right.

An additional nugget to chew on. Kasich came real close to winning in several metropolitan counties that are traditionally considered democrat strongholds, due mostly to pitifully poor democrat turnout in those areas. And Obama was here more than a dozen times trying to drag former Gov. Strickland across the line for reelection. I don't see any more excitement here on the democratic side than in 2010. And the reported numbers on democrat registration back that up.

I think Romney will win comfortably (by 4-6 points) in Ohio.

192 #55  Of all the things he said last night,  that one really hit me.  What about all of those skilled carpenters,  plumbers,  and electricians?  What about coal miners aand oil rig roughnecks?  These people are valuable workers,  and in my opinion contribute more to our nation than those crappy hipsters who work in some techno job and spend all of their cash at Starbucks.

I dislike the snobbery of the "intellectual elite" who think they are the only people who know anything.

My father never got but one semester of college because of the Depression,  and in order to help his family,  he enlisted in the Army in 1937 (stockade Ft. Snelling with horses and pay in silver dollars) and ended up staying in until after WWII.  He came home and did furnace repair and sheet metal work.  My mother,  who was a teacher,  stayed home with all 5 of us until I was in 5th grade,  and dad got a job as head of maintenance in the local school system.

Every time I hear that sneer of Obama's,  I think of some of the younger teachers who treated by dad shabbily because he was the maintenance guy.
Two Bronze Stars from Italian theater (one because he learned Italian and organized the street people of Naples to repair equipment) a man who could write humorous sonnets and figure algebra in his head,  to them was anobody because he wore coveralls.

And that is what I hear from Obama, who I hope ends up eating from a trash can.

"Glaring contradiction"? The government doesn't directly create jobs but it indirectly does by establishing an economic environment that is conducive for companies to hire people. The government also has to hire people to run the government. I certainly hope that this isn't news to you. I don't know how you expected Romney to answer that type of question, especially if you didn't want him to ostracize a large part of the electorate. Just saw this clip on one of the Boston stations, where the fuckwit "political expert" was ranting about last night being a Big Win for Choom Boy.

I mean, I know this state is one of the most retarded liberal strongholds in the nation, and that the networks are at the head of the line shilling for Osama Obama, but even a brain-dead Masshole has to see the truth once in a while. Well, maybe that's just me having more faith in the 1% of the 47% as humans than I should.

Last night was an obvious set-up from start to finish. That's why the fight has to intensify, not be relaxed for premature celebration. I am so sick of the Traitor-in-Chief that I want to see a 47-state blowout for Romney at a minimum. I want him destroyed, politically, along with his co-conspirators (like Lieawatha Warren) and all who support the America-hating shitstains currently in power.

Turnout in the metropolitan areas in Ohio was pitifully low in 2010, and that was despite Obama coming here a dozen times trying to help Gov. Strickland get re-elected (he lost).

Also, population is way down in the metro areas, just since 2008, especially in Cuyahoga County. I read that registrations there are down by 180,000 since 2008.

The bad guys don't have numbers to work with.

246 Crowley's bigger mistake on the "act of terror" transcript was when she went into that INCORRECT statement that it "took two weeks for the idea that it was a protest to come out" [paraphrased] - which is EXACTLY OPPOSITE of what happened. It took two weeks for the scumbag, America-hating LIE of it being a protest to STOP, not to "come out". That second part was even worse than the first. Crowley is a useless, lying, scumbag piece of pig shit.

That question and many of the others last night are more of an indictment against these idiotic town hall debates than they are an indictment against Romney.

Because of how we voted on his union reform bill and how much the state currently hates him.

---------------------------------------------------------------

At the same time that union bill went down, the state voted overwhelmingly (60-40ish) for a symbolic initiative rebuking Obamacare.

In 2010, it wasn't just Kasich, but Portman, every statewide candidate, the state house, and the state senate that all went Republican.

258 I think throwing everything at Ohio is poor tactics as well. Fight the campaign on as many fronts as you can, force the other side to stretch their resources to the maximum, and then press wherever you find movement.

There was no good response to that question for Romney, and I say that as someone who has never been a big fan of Romney either (my first choices in 2008 was Fred Thompson and 2012 was Rick Perry). Romney is a marginal conservative but he has a record of success in the private and public sectors that dwarf those of the current Oval Office occupant.

I'll be honest with you. What point does it make for you to be attacking Romney with comments that were better uttered during the GOP primaries? I don't understand what you hope to gain three weeks before the election. Help get Romney elected then hold his feet to the fire. This approach can work on at least some of the important issues, as it did with George W. Bush (e.g., Harriet Miers SCOTUS nomination that ended up being a much better Samuel Alito instead).

From firsthand observation, a goodly percentage of the franklin county early voting women were Somali and in full burqa. Oh, and ohio early voting started Oct 2. 303 Actually, what Romney did about the jobs for women in his administration was this:

1.  All he was getting was resumes and recommendations for guys.
2. He asked the questions (I am paraphrasing), "Do you mean to tell me that there are no women equally as well qualified for these jobs?  If there are some, get me their resumes so I can consider them as well."
3. Then he split the hiring after being certain that he had all the good candidates, not just the ones without ladyparts.

The women in his administration put together a video about it.   There is nothing unConservative about refusing to be steered to hire only guys.

I know the rest of you morons know, but where the f$ is leesburgh?"   Meathammer, you know that eastern-projecting skinny arm of West VA that projects between MD and VA?  Loudoun County (Leesburg) is the piece of VA it buts up against.  We are part of the DC Metro area, and elected a 9-0 Republican Board of Supervisors a year ago next month, along with a slew of R state delegates.   The supes have a bus ready to take them to the rally after the public hearing tonight (paid out of their own money, and not county).

If -- IF -- you're not a troll but are just "concerned," A solid minute's thought about Choom Boy and what that America-hating shitweasel has done and wants to keep doing to the country ought to make you into a rabid cheerleader for Romney.

Never mind the other shit.

Can we have a dedicated Concern Thread so we can beat the daylights out of the concerned?

Nah, that's not fair.  Being overly concerned is just fear of failure, an unfortunate but common presonality trait. Almost all  of  us exhibit some level of concern over important events. So, maybe a "Give The Concerned A Binky" thread would be a nice way to work on the problem.

--- - -   - - -  - - -  --  -   -  - - -  -  - -  -  - - -  - -   -  - -  - -  -  - -    - -  - - - -  -   - - -  -   - - -  -  -  - - -  -  - - -  - - -  - - - -  -  - - - -  - - - - - - -  - - - -  - - - - - -

Of course we have to seperate the Romney supporting concerned peeps from the Obama supporting fake concern  trolls  first. Then the beatings and binky  distributions can begin.

My late Dad was a welder out of Local 597 in Chicago.  He was the best of the best as far as welders went.  At his funeral, more than one man stood up and told a story about my Dad's skills.  BTW, he had an automatic deferment in WWII.  He kept going down to enlist and they kept refusing him. He finally told them, "I will not take a welding job while my brother is fighting this war."  The Marines let him enlist--then they trained him to weld the rubberized tanks on aircraft.  He always laughed about that.

347 @346 well, i understand the religious position on gay marriage. i don't agree with it, but i can see a bit of reasonability in decrying the public cultural embrace of gay lifestyles...many of which really are pretty much based around nothing more than partying and sex with strangers. that santorum actually made the distinction against abortion is baffling. there's no logical basis whatsoever to suggest that the adoption of gay marriage in a culture that already largely accepts gay relationships is somehow more detrimental to society than the culture of death and the externalisation of problems that surrounds the abortion issue. not only is responsibility out the window, but the idea is put forth that it's ok to kill a child for being inconvenient to you...even if your own behaviour caused that child to be conceived. it's ridiculous to suggest that gay marriage is somehow culturally more dangerous than abortion, and one has to wonder if some sort of deep-set hatred isn't partly responsible for that baffling conclusion.

Posted by: backhoe at October 17, 2012 03:13 PM (ULH4o)

349 @348 again, the point wasn't that the left doesn't try to undermine traditional family values -- that much is clear. it's just idiotic to suggest that preventing government recognisance of gay marriage, which would *hardly* change the already-prevalent cultural acceptance of gay relationships, is somehow a more important battle than fighting against abortion.

Bad signs.   liberal female FB 'friends' still 'liking' Barry campaign stuff.  The liberal that  has p/t feed lease on my PasoFino and comes out to ride told me in 2011 when it was "generic republican TBD" that no way would she vote for Barry again and most of her friends had also stated such, but now she is waffling.  "I cant vote for Romney, silver spoon ....."  at best I may convince her to vote for Gary Johnson or Green party, maybe Barr/Sheehan,  she was a Hillary supporter but I don't think ever a PUMA who said she'd vote for McCain.

The fact they have found NOTHING in his past is really remarkable (the Globe has been digging for years, trust me), considering the thousand of people who have worked for, with and against him over the past 30 years. 374 Mitt was my third choice for President, but after all he's done, Goldilocks, I now will enthusiastically vote for him. I didn't have a sense during the primaries of how very, very smart he is and his love for America also comes through in what he says.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 17, 2012 03:42 PM (ZifVj)

375 @371 - some people are just driven.

We will, of course, never really know just what he thinks of the press riot over his father's 'brainwashed' remark.  Absolutely true (history's shown that MACV was not exactly trustworthy) but the public wasn't yet ready to buy it, so it flushed George right out of the race.

378 I'm not delusional. I'm guessing I'll be sick of Romney 6 years into his presidency(if that), but thanking my lucky stars he isn't the SCOAMF.

379 Me too, Filly. I have always liked him in a Dudley Do Right/Boyscout way, but the Paul Ryan pick was the first thing to really get me excited, the more aggressive responses to "You didn't build that!" were also really encouraging, but that debate performance, and last night's too, was pure awesome-he totally sold me. I can't imagine performing under that kind of pressure, with the POTUS all up in your grill and a hostile 'mediator', in front of millions. What stones. He's the only politician I can think of where the more you learn about him, the more you really like him. The other Repub candidates would have gotten creamed.

How do you know when the left is in full crisis mode? Trolls abound at every conservative website.  Libs log off mamma's computer and foam at the mouth to take on Conservative talkshows like the Wilkow Majority on Sirius/XM.  Liberals get crazier when they are about to lose.  I'm getting more optimistic day-by-day.

382 im only cautiously optimistic...were talking about the rabid left here... were talking about stone cold morons whenit comes to politics... were talking about that dumb ass kid down the road whos gonna stand in line with his obama love streaming thru his glazed over eyes... were talkin about black people who could care less about the issues but more about their skin color... and those silly 'anarchists' in the animal costumes...they wear fucking bunny-suits people... dont underestimate it. they really are 'legion' we have to be legion...er...or sumthin.

383 So when will the bombings of Libya take place?

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 17, 2012 03:55 PM (ZifVj)

384 I'm starting to think Portman should have been on the ticket, a VP from a home state has got to be worth at least 1-2 points.

For the record, I think Romney will pull it out in Ohio, but I agree, why not make a real play for Michigan, it has both a Republican Governor, Legislature, and the Romney name does mean something there.  It's not the black hole some people think it is.

I have to think though, Romney's people have data we don't, and it's easy to be an armchair quarterback.

Ohio is a traditionally Republican state, as short as 2 years ago the GOP dominated every part of the ballot, so it's hardly some deep blue state now.

Elections almost always turn "national", I just don't see a realistic scenario where we win the popular vote but lose Ohio.

I don't know what the debate will do, but even the lopsided polls seem to make this election look like 1980.

385 369 ohio is like PA in a sense. pa is only blue in the proper city areas, the rest is usually RED. same as in cali. i dont think ive even MET anyone from california who likes democrats, in fact theyve always cut their eyes and snarled at the mention of the left. and thats not just me making shit up.

Posted by: laughing at neck braces

The difference is, the % of people in CA who live in the cities is greater than in PA.

386 I'm still worried about Ohio, and I have long thought it simply is a Democratic state

You're simply wrong; it's for the most part a very conservative state with a couple urban blue hells that sometime cause it to jump on a wave election.  The JEF has never been popular here; Stalin-Rodham trucked his pansy ass in the 2008 primary and in the general most of the counties went for Palin and that senile fuck she tried to drag across the finish line.  But the urban fucks had a huge turnout; plus Twitch Strickland had that whore Jennifer Brunner passing every horseshit ballot that ACORN sent her.  Guess what; Twitch is gone and Kasich will fight the bullshit.

Have you ever been in Ohio?

389 Imma have to go ahead and respectfully disagree with the notion that Ohio is simply a Democratic state. It's still the absolute definition of a swing state. This is the place that went twice for Reagan, for HW Bush, GW Bush twice, Clinton twice, and Obama. State senatorial and house elections have also varied. Perhaps the reason the major swing in polls has been not hit Ohio is due to the fact that we're doing better than most states with unemployment, etc, and it is a pretty heavy union state (in some areas) as well. This state simultaneously voted against Obamacare, and shot down SB5 to curb unions. I'll say this though: if that Gallup poll is accurate, and BO is down 6 points nationally.....I have a hell of a hard time believing Obama will win this state. We Ohioans haven't gone batshit crazy just in the last four years. (Not that we ignore WI or MI either though!)

Dave in FL has been analyzing the OH polls, and when you adjust for likely turnout, Romney has it by 4% or 5%.

That being said, CO + WI is one more EV than OH, and we've heard positive testimony from a WI moron or two.

To get the remaining 3 or 4 EV votes, there are a few states that are supposedly 50/50.  If that's true the odds are very high that he gets at least one.

But a lot can happen in a few weeks.  A guy with NPD has a 100% chance of trying to cheat, so watch for something even dirtier than the flat-out lies.

51-45.

at this point, forget ohio.  if this gallup number is true, ohio would be won by 6 pts, if the election were held today.

the msm is slow to accept it, but it is romeny's to lose.  the certainty that they held for obama's reelection, based on polling, is now the romney position.

kudos to gallup, for starting the bidding at obama's electoral support at 45%.  he's got a 42% in him.  given how well he has done with the economy he might even put up a 40%.

393 Just remember you heard it here first.  Since TFG is a pathological liar (literally, as a symptom of NPD), he will run again.  And lose again.  And again.  He'll have his little cult following, and be like Ron Paul, only socialist (and that part will slowly come out more and more).

397 Imagine if we finally have an economy based on teaching teachers to teach future teachers thereby to teaching teachers to teach? We wouldn't even need manufacturing or tech jobs, just a world in which each child is given his own teacher to in turn become a teacher. awesome ========== But to really getbthe economy going, you would still need to hire people to break windows.

400 I wanted to share anecdotal info from Colorado. We have been driving through Colorado for the last 3 days. Now, we avoided the Denver area, but in the 3 full days of driving, we have seen dozens upon dozens of big Romney signs, as well as privately purchased anti-Obama billboards and we built it signs. Obama signs? We have seen exactly one, that's right, 1 Obama bumper sticker on a hippies car in Leadville. I live in purple PA and thoroughly expected to see lots of Obama signs here in Colorado. This has made our trip all that much better.

Therefore, a more realistic turnout model for this poll would have it tied or Romney up by a point or so in Ohio. Plus, there are obviously a lot of undecideds not yet committed to voting for either candidate. Barring any unforeseen events or information that badly damages Romney over the next three weeks, history shows that Romney will win at least 60% of the late undecideds. All of this taken together probably shows Romney currently up by 2-3% in Ohio, though that can definitely change in the next three weeks.

Posted by: Slappy at October 17, 2012 05:13 PM (LTbLf)

402 Ohio has had many great GOP politicians in recent years, and trended GOP statewide in 2010, so there's no way it shd be seen as a Dem stronghold. The rotten boroughs in Cleveland & other typical corrupt Dem cities are the only reasons it is competitive for the Dems.

404 408 If it's not a democrat state, how do you account for the fact that hard left/socialist Sherrod Brown is up rcp average over his very good opponent by 5 percent?  What about the overwhelming referendum passed in favor of public employee unions?  You might want to read Paul Rahe on Michigan.  I think the same thing is happening in Ohio.

Having worked both Bush campaigns (2000 & 2004), Ohio will again be determined in Hamilton County (SW OH). The Ohio GOTV is as motivated as I've ever seen. Three weeks ago, two young ladies came knocking on doors in my condo complex. This past weekend two young men came knocking, part of a group of 30 college kids from Indiana. Most of my progressive 250+ FB friends had been posting anti-Romney threads for months - ZERO since the first debate. Ohio knows the governor has changed the economy and turned a deficit into a surplus, not Obama. Portman, in my district, is also enormously popular in Ohio. Mandell has erased a 17 point deficit and Harry Reid is flooding the airwaves with lying BS trying to help the most socialist member of the Senate, Sherrod Brown. And SE Ohio is coal country. Early ballot requests favor Republicans, Cuyahoga county has lost 180,000 registered Democrats. And do not for one minute believe early voting has gone 3-to-1 for Obama.

406 Dave Edmunds was in the band Rockpile with Nick Lowe who wrote I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock N Roll. Also fits former 'rock star' Obama. Another Lowe song, Marie Provost, describes a former Hollywood starlet who's popularity crashes, then hangs herself, and is then eaten by her pets. Bo takes revenge for his ancestors eaten by Obama and returns the favor? Nick Lowe also wrote the goofy What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding, sort of a rockier Imagine so you get what you get.

The campaign against the public unions was a major clusterfuck by the Republican party with shithead Kevin DeWine torpedoing Kasich, for which the Tea Party kicked his ass out of the Repub steering committee when the state primary happened.  In that same vote Bammycare got rejected by a similar measure.  I'm not sure if Sherrod Brown will be kicked out because he is a tool of the unions but I'm still hoping Josh Mandel will prevail.  The Restraining Order is nervous because he's been carpet bombing the state with ads.  Brown won his Senate seat against Mike DeWine, who was ok but it was in 2006 when there was a wave election against the Repubs.

Posted by: Captain Hate (more dagny and less curious) at October 17, 2012 07:36 PM (y9B0M)

408 I feel like Romney has plans, and sticks to his plans very well, and is willing to wait for results to show, rather than freaking out. I think it bodes well for his presidency. I suspect we will have 2-3 tough years before his plans start to pay off big time. I'm hoping he hits the following: 1) Tax reform - big bang style 2) Obamacare defanged as much as possible 3) Dodd-Frank refanged to remove thousands of pages of BS and the crazy unaccountable consumer protection agency, but MOST importantly, break up the big banks and get rid of too big to fail. 4) School vouchers - cuz we need to adjust education big time and cannot wait for top down results. 5) Budget cuts Damn, that is a lot of stuff.

Posted by: Sexypig at October 17, 2012 07:45 PM (fbKRB)

409 412, Kasich failed to exclude police and firemen from SB5 - huge mistake. Also the govenor's ad campaign was outspent by a huge margin. You are correct about the carpet bombing, every conservative website I frequent is plastered with anti Mandel ads. However, like Obama, Sherrod Brown can't run away from his voting record. BTW, I have a very conservative friend who recently asked me how can people vote for someone (Mandel) who looks like he is 16 years old?
