Cornyn threw everything at him; essentially every complaint that we've covered here.  Stedman sat there looking bored with his non-existent chin in his hand.  When Cornyn was done Leahy made as asshole out of himself by badmouthing Gonzalez.  Then Stedman got the pained look on his face and whiny tone to his voice and blamed everything on politics and that Repubs were willfully ignoring all his awesome wonderfulness.

Holder doesn't say whether he'd be surprised, just that he has every confidence that the guy will act impartially.

Big Pat Leahy, the liar, doesn't seem to give a shit about a guy who died, all the way somewhere over there, but the fight to keep guns off the streets is more important, of course.

Holder was recently hanging out with Al Sharpoon, buttering up Al's big fat butt cheeks in preparation for Rat-Face Holder diving down on them like a 4th of July corn-on-the-cob and no one gives a crap.

Maybe that shit was taken out of context, of course.

I'm re-posting this info about the POS Holder from an earlier thread:

Holder shut down the FBI investigation into Russell A. Bufalino, the man who ordered the Jimmy Hoffa hit:

‘RABFAM’ and new charges

Federal agents believed Mr. Bufalino continued to oversee the operations of his crime family through his lieutenants while incarcerated in Danbury, Conn. In 1979, they went on the attack with an investigation designed to “decimate the Bufalino Family,” according to the FBI file.

It was called RABFAM, for Russell A. Bufalino Family, and it entailed numerous wiretaps, informants, undercover agents and surveillance based out of a new FBI office in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

RABFAM grew from a 1978 FBI investigation in Baltimore into the fencing of stolen goods. Through that investigation, undercover agents developed information on various organized crime figures.

“The evolution of the operation has been changed from a purely stolen goods posture to prosecution of members of Organized Crime Families, either through the purchase of stolen property or other suitable violations of Federal laws,” according to a 1980 FBI report in the Bufalino file.

RABFAM, overseen by the FBI’s Philadelphia office, involved a squad “engaged full-time in surveillance of members of the Russell A. Bufalino Family,” according to the file, which alleged Mr. Bufalino continued to direct family business from jail through two lieutenants. One handled “general criminal matters,” while the other took care of “white collar crime matters concentrating in labor racketeering, political corruption and infiltration of legitimate businesses.”
...

In September 1981, Eric H. Holder Jr., then a federal prosecutor and now U.S. Attorney General, wrote to the Justice Department arguing that RABFAM “has yet to develop a viable, indictable case” and should be shut down.

Mr. Holder wanted to terminate RABFAM because he needed the testimony of a RABFAM informant to pursue a jury-tampering case involving Bufalino lieutenant James David Osticco that had been developed independently of RABFAM.

In response to Mr. Holder’s memo, FBI headquarters wrote that going ahead with the Osticco case and unmasking the informant “would entirely void the continuing RABFAM investigation.”

In the end, Mr. Holder won.
RABFAM informant Frank Parlopiano testified against Mr. Osticco at his trial in 1983. Mr. Osticco was convicted of bribing a juror in a 1977 fraud case involving three Lackawanna County officials and Mr. DeNaples, a Dunmore businessman. The juror was the lone holdout for acquittal in a case that involved overbilling the federal government for flood recovery work following Tropical Storm Agnes in 1972.

After the hung jury, Mr. DeNaples and the other three defendants pleaded no contest in the case. He received a $10,000 fine and three years probation.

RABFAM was shut down for good in 1984.

His reference is to GunWalker, a program where the ATF placed tracking devices in guns and allowed them to 'walk' to Mexico. Unfortunately, the smugglers figured out they were bugged and defeated the bugs. About 300 guns were involved.

F and F involved no tracking devices at all; in fact, there was no way to tell where they were going....plus, there were over 2,000 guns involved before it was shut down.

@62, willow

He's lying about that willow. ....Out and out lying. ...Some might call it 'parsing'.

But I call it lying.

Because you're right....the Bush admin stopped their program, because they deemed it to be a failure.

Why?

Because even with the help of Mexican officials, waiting at the border, to help track and apprehend the gun-runners.....some were able to slip through.

So they abandoned the program.

Holder is lying.

He resurrected a failed program...and even left out the previous parts of involving the Mexican govt + trying to track the guns....and he put that failed policy back in action under a new name.

I think it was because it was a two-fer.

One....they could get more guns into the hands of Mexicans, to support the inflated numbers that Hillary and Barky had already made claims about.

Two....they could blame it on Bush.

77 I thought the Bush admin op was called Wide Receiver?

That about 200 guns were allowed to walk across the border with full Mexican co-operation and awareness.  That roughly half of the guns still vanished.  And the program was quickly shut down.

So again Holder is trying to deflect blame by claiming Bush did it to and we stopped them.  Which begs the question, if that was a flawed operation then why re-instate it?  Makes Holder sound like an idiot doesn't it?

Which is better than being exposed as a lying tool who allowed over 2000 guns to walk across the border without any control.  Said weapons then proceeded to murder innocent Mexican civilians - meanwhile US Army solders are being tried for murder of Afghan civilians during fire fights - and Holder expects nothing to be done.

Holder and entire cabal need to go into prison.  Preferably a Mexican prison - for accessory to 300+ counts of murder.

82 The left seem to have a goddamn big problem with the truth. Her's a primer on what "deliberate" means. If you fail to set your parking brake fully, and your car rolls out of your driveway and you can't stop it in time before someone driving down the street hits it and cracks their head and dies, that's a tragedy, an accident, and maybe negligence. That's Wide Receiver. If you get high on crack, take off in your 77 Chevy van, and drive through a crowd of schoolchildren at lunch, and then flee the scene and pretend it wasn't you, that's mass murder. That's Fast & Furious. The difference isn't just scale, it's intent and awareness of consequences, and follow-up action. And that's why the mofos need to be FULLY investigated, to be FORCED to cooperate with the investigation even if it means search warrants and interrogations, and those responsible PROSECUTED. This kind of thing makes me really doubt the decency of ANY leftists. How do you defend this? And yes, I would say the same thing "If Bush Did It," which he, by the way, didn't.

300 neighboring countries civilians and a couple of ours dead.

no big deal,.

holder not fired by Obama, not in jail, just a good ole boy. what is this 2 +years later?

Holder doesn't even seem concerned or anxious,  He thinks he will get away with it.

will he?

90 It's too bad the poll posts always end up sitting on top. Hate polls. Like CAC, hate polls.

91 Holder has an irritating habit of not answering the question. He anticipates where the questioning is leading and addresses the thrust instead of just answering the damn question and then explaining. This is absolutely certain to piss off the questioner. I find it hard to believe that he does not know this, and thus he relishes pissing off Congress. This is not the attitude of a public servant; Holder is a prick.

92 will he? Posted by: willow at June 12, 2012 06:51 PM (TomZ9) Will he avoid prosecution? Probably, because they're all a bunch of vile criminals. Will he avoid scrutiny and reproach? Not if wee keep telling everyone in maddening detail until their ears bleed.

93 So where are the grenades that were sold, under this Administration?

And why hasn't a single Cartel member, or Felon 'gun buyer' been caught?

94 Look at that fucking shitweasel moan that he's been questioned about this so many  times before. I wish one of the Senators had said, "I'm sorry. Is this annoying to you? Maybe you should tell that to Brian Terry's family you sorry-assed little fuckstain."

I'm not sure who I loathe more.

Obama is a golf playing libtard.

Holder is the one telling him it's okay.

96 Texan here weighing in...

Yes this was sweet. Yes somebody needed to tell Holder to stick it up his ass. But, this right here is all we Texans have gotten from Cronyn this term (besides rushing SOPA through committee I mean /eyeroll).

One fiery moment in front of a camera every 6 years or so ain't enough. Cronyn's gonna have to find more balls than this is he wants to hold off us Texas Tea Party hobbits in two years.

97 That ass kissing jerk off Durbin really gets me pissed off, and then Holder sits there blinking his eyes so much I thought he was going to fly around the room.

98 Another poll thread. Which, you know, is great for people who like polls. I just think that "finger in the wind" politics is a little destructive. It encourages people to promise (and sometimes even engage in) what amounts to rent-seeking - this group wants goodies, that group wants goodies. Which is kind of why we are SO BONED now.

99 It almost seems like Holder (and others in the Obama gang) know that they are going to never be accountable or be prosecuted. It is like they think that before the election, and before the American people know what the hell happened, they will have absolute total control of not only the normal government crap but will have absolute control of everything. I'm not one of those conspiracy people but something is wrong here, something is not right.

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed - where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

100 You want answers? Subpoena that woman sitting behind him on the left. He turned to her one time to verify an answer before proceeding and spent a lot of time rolling her eyes and smirking. When Holder launched into his laundry list of what he had provided she tuned it out presumably since she already knew what was on the paper he was reading off of.

Can't get Holder? Start putting pressure on those around him.

104 Leaky Leahy says he has a right to respond to these serious charges. Leahy can be his defense counsel while the Senate is trying his impeachment. And disqualification from holding a position of trust under the United States.

105 Was in the car and heard huckabee's show again.  He had on chuck grassley.  Chuck said they have been given 7 thousand documents out of a possible 140 thousand.  He was pretty angry.  He said even when they get leaked documents and ask for them from the attorney general's office they don't want to give them.  And he's upset cause they are saying "we know they exist" so just give it to us.  Was a good interview until huckabee asked if "withholder" (that's what grassley was calling him) should be fired or asked to quit.  Chuck said that if you asked him earlier in the day he's have said yes but that "withholder" had asked to negotiate to avoid a constitutional crisis.  Chuck was pretty pissed about this since "withholder" is the one creating the crisis and now is trying to look like the guy who wants to compromise.  It was disappointing to hear chuck say that he wanted to consider this "compromise to avoid a constitutional crisis".   But he did say "maybe if you ask me next week I might be thinking differently".....what the audience heard was "we republicans are total wussies so we will probably compromise".  Another huckabee interview worth listening to.

106 drip, drip, drip.

The wheels of justice go 'round and 'round and 'round. Holder will continue to stonewall and Republicans will continue grandstanding.

If Republicans think the Holder puppet show will translate to votes come November, they are sadly mistaken.

There is no happy ending.

They play us for chumps because we /are/ chumps. Carrot on a stick and we keep lunging for it.

Issa won't be getting my vote unless he moves to aggressively pursue formal contempt charges - or - adjourns the F&F hearings and allows Holder to walk.

I'm done playing their cynical, rigged games.

I was struck by Holder's arrogance. He must have a level of narcissism in the same category as Obama.

As I understand it, if they find Holder in contempt, their sargeant-at-arms will arrest Holder, and put him in the slammer for a year, plus fine him $100,000.  It's arrogant to talk that way to Congress, anyway, but considering that they could be tossing him in the slammer, it is especially so.

Instead, he's sitting there with his "you can't touch me because I'm the first black Attorney General" attitude. He - like Obama - seems to be a True Beleiver type who would be happy to "martyr" himself for the "cause" (whatever the hell that whacked-out cause might be). If any Attorney General is EVER going to be found in contempt, it's going to be THIS guy.

Besides, he CAN'T budge. If he did, he might expose both him AND the President. Really - who the hell else in the Justice Dept would come up with such a scheme as "Fast and Furious"? It's classic Cloward-Piven!
