How the Media Made Obama's Ineptitude a Story About Romney's "Gaffe"

Yesterday, we learned that there were no Marines protecting our Ambassador to Libya despite State Department warnings about violence and kidnappings in the Benghazi. We already knew Al Qaeda was coming on strong there. But we relied on locals for support and now we know the locals betrayed us as they have in the past in Afghanistan and Iraq too.
But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.
Night before last, the President condemned Mitt Romney in harsher tones than he condemned the rioters. It took him until sun up yesterday to condemn them.
But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.
Yesterday, the media spent much time condemning the Coptic Christians for their movie, but we now know the movie had been out for months and we also know the riots were orchestrated in advance. We also know the attack on the American consulate in Libya used the riots as cover for the attack.
But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.
Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a man who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, called an American civilian to ask him to stop exercising his first amendment rights.
But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.
We also now know that the President, close to 60% of the time, has opted for printed intelligence briefings, which this White House thinks are as useful as an intelligence officer in the room who the President can probe, prod, challenge, and question.
But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

You would scarcely know a man called Barack Obama was actually in charge of his embassy's security.

When Romney gave a press conference Wednesday, the questions focused on whether it was appropriate for him to criticize Obama at the time he did. Romney's responses didn't really matter, because reporters had already decided their narrative. Obama did not take any questions in his own press conference moments later.
In 2004, John Kerry routinely attacked President Bush's handling of Iraq when things weren't going well in the country. And the media dutifully reported on Bush's foreign policy blunders in Iraq. But now, instead of scrutinizing Obama's handling of a foreign policy crisis, the media has decided that the real story in Egypt and Libya is a Mitt Romney gaffe.

Below, Kirsten Powers slams Obama and his Media Palace Guard. And I mean slams.

Jesus Christ, it's dog bites man stuff at this point, but I really, really detest our media for their unrepentant, hypocritical, and unceasing bias. All profanity and most of the anger were deleted from the previous sentence.

The alleged film is not, in and of itself, any sort of crime, but quite the opposite. I kinda sense from Twitter and the liberal blogs this afternoon that they are getting nervous. Thinking maybe they realize the media jumped the shark on this and now there will be a backlash against Obama and for Romney. The polls that came out today show a disappeared bounce and Romney still strong with independents. Independent voters have a strong sense of fairness and I think they are revolted by the media piling on Romney and not holding Obama accountable for this disaster.

The libs thought this episode would finish Romney, but it hasn't happened.

187 I know they're trying really, really hard to spin this away from Obama but its doing incredible damage to him. And its obliterated the "foreign policy president" and "Democrats are the foreign policy party now" lies they were pushing. They're doing their damnest to direct attention elsewhere but everybody knows three facts:
Obama is president and in charge
Embassies are in flames and an ambassador is dead
Obama is out campaigning and not even talking to the press about this.
I'd be surprised if even Gallup didn't have him down by 2 points next week. This undid everything he might have actually gained from the DNC and did more damage.
Between this and the teacher's union strike... the man just lost every hope of winning.

Anyway, I thank Ace for his flaming skulls today and other information I passed on and created chaos. It is Operation Blitzkrieg. I am operating under Commander Brietbart and Ace. There is a dog whistle involved.

Oh I spend most Saturday mornings trolling the comnments at the WaPo. There are some seriously delusional lefties there. It's also always good to read what their groupthink is saying.

My favorite thing is to reply to every comment that mentions Mitt Romney's wealth or Ann's horse with a statement that the Obama are millionaires yet neither of them ever created or ran a business or created a job, and Michelle wears far more expensive clothes than Ann. Usually that's a thread killer.
