Husband of Former Governor Endorses Gingrich
— Ace

The Todd Palin endorsement.

I don't know all of his reasons for backing Gingich, but the one he's offered so far is Palinocentric.

[H]e said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.

...

Todd Palin did point to last summer, when a large portion of GingrichÂ’s staff resigned and the candidate was left, largely by himself, to run the campaign.

Gingrich’s ability to overcome the obstacle and still move up in the polls showed his ability to campaign and survive, according to Todd Palin, who said Gingrich is not one of the typical “beltway types” and that his campaign has “burst out of the political arena and touched many Americans.”

25 Last I checked, Newt was not Mitt Romney, so I fund this endorsement acceptable.

If the actual leaders of the party, instead of their relatives, would like to unify the effing conservatives behind a single dad gum candidate, that would be nice.

If Newt, that's not my first choice, but I understand why folks would hesitate with my first choice who appears to be unelectable for reasons I do not really grasp.

Maybe Todd is smart enough not to reject someone over an isolated heresy (that indeed was stupid) because beggars can't be choosy in this primary.

Also, if they were really evaluating these guys for reform potential, Sarah would have endorsed Perry months ago.  But his running forced her not to run, so I guess that's no good.  It was partly her supposed irritation at Perry's corruption (never demonstrated) that took the wind right out of his sails.

But this election is the political equivalent of the Schrödinger's cat paradox for a bunch of these politicians, where the cat could be alive or dead, but not both states simultaneously. Only by opening the box and observing could you make the  determination.

138 Hmm. I thought it would be something more along the lines of "Yo, bitch, it's your duty to give booty to your man!" But, you know, maybe it's the translation.

In 1 Corinthians 7:2-5 Paul advises, "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency." Essentially this says that neither partner in a marriage has a right to deny sex with the other, except if they both make a mutual agreement to abstain for a specified period of time for prayer and fasting. This means a short time, because it is not likely one would or could reasonably continue a real fast for long periods. If he is eating meals then Paul says he should not deny you. One would be tempted to say "deny any reasonable request for sex," but Paul doesn't even put that limitation.

139 Here it is: 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. See honey? The Good Book COMMANDS THEE to unsnap that bra and get into the hucklebuck position. And in return, I make myself available to you whenever you want. Except during prayer. Or when "Castle" is on.

148 Todd Palin has the most desirable conservative woman in the United States for himself.  If Todd could get on the talk shows with his endorsement, I imagine Newt would get 80% of the male conservative vote with that endorsement.  The other 20% likely are metrosexual and have their own fantasies about Mitt.

158 Todd Palin did NOT say that Newt was "outside the beltway"; he said he wasn't a "typical beltway type".  There's a big difference.  John Boehner strikes me as a typical beltway type, and he was one of the people who were involved in the coup against Gingrich.  (So was Tom DeLay.)

Gingrich got real cuts in spending.  After he was gone, the guys who threw him out went on an eight-year shopping spree.  Who's more typical of the beltway--Newt, or the guys who got rid of him?
