— Ace Eh.
If you're subscribing to Hustler's porn operation-- and for God's sakes, even among my debased readership, I can't imagine you are; it was always awful -- I would suggest it's time to stop.
If you want alternatives, I can suggest some. And by some I mean "fifty."
Allah wonders if it's possible that this crosses the defamation line, since the Supreme Court decision which found that Hustler did not defame Jerry Falwell relied upon the notion that no one could mistake it for real.
Could people mistake this for real? I think some could.
What he doesn't wonder about is whether or not the mainstream media will advocate on behalf of S.E. Cupp's dignity, as they were so eager to do with Sandra Fluke.
No one wonders that.
They won't.
Period.
Let me give my own personal vow to SE Cupp: I'll never look at this hoax photoshop. So no, personally, I will never have this image in my head.
I hope/trust that almost everyone will also take this vow (unless they have to look at it, for example, if they're a lawyer suing Flynt).
So at least we can reassure S.E. Cupp that very few people she's ever likely to meet, or read her, or follow her column will know of it.
Absurd thuggery.
The left needs to understand something. This isn't a threat. This is common sense.
Success breeds imitation.
Some on the left may be rather pleased about this, or about Brett Kimberlin's serial harassment of critics exercising their free speech rights.
They might be pleased... for now.
But if the right is as thuggish and crazy and evil as the left suggests -- do they really think that this sort of behavior, if permitted to prosper, will not be imitated and deployed against the left?
Of course it will be. Success breeds imitators.
Now, I think this crap is disgusting, no matter who it's directed against.
But I gotta tell you -- if the left is just going to snigger and giggle at this ruthless behavior, I'm going to be inclined to do the exact same thing when some deranged thug on the right begins to take things personal against the left.
On the other hand, if the left stands for basic decency and humanity, I personally would go just as hard against a right-wing monster as against a left-wing one.
You know, there are not just two parties, liberal and conservative. There are at least two more parties that intersect with those-- the party of the decent, and the party of the indecent.
The party of the honorable, and the party of the repulsive.
I claim allegiance to the party of the decent and honorable over any and all other allegiances.
It would be nice to have reassurance that there are still those on the left who do likewise.

Tell me, who lost their job or suffered any consequences for making fun of Trig Palin?
Not one damned person on the left stood up, as I recall, and denounced that.
No, see you're giving them one more chance after they've had hundreds of chances to do the right thing.
Yes, yes I know you personally know some lefties who are good people. But, quit projecting your personal acquaintances upon the general of the left. Even lefties I know who are rather pleasant and nice in person, I've caught subtly encouraging or engaging in the same vile shit the worst of them brag about. Bottom line--THEY ALL DO IT!!! My favorite memory of Hustler was during the Billy Jeff administration. After Billy was caught lying about Lewinski, Hustler offer a large amount of money ($1,000,000?) to anyone who could prove a sexual relationship with a Republican member of the House. When questioned about thje propriety of this, the White House responded that they didn't tell news magazines what to do.
But then offering Casey Anthony big bucks to flash her money maker was a class act, too.

It would have been better if people had shunned Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love and all the depraved scumbags who decided that making a movie with the piece of shit as protagonist and sympathetic figure was a civilized thing to do. But, promoting depravity is what the left is all about and defending depravity is the main concern of our courts - well, that and treating non-citizens infinitely better than citizens. But that is just the strained extension of the accused having more rights in our courts than a material witness ...

I'm believing this is less and less true. They continue doing it because we do just laugh it off.
At the very least, to continue the analogy- yes, bombers take flak (well, they did when AA fire was at all affective) while over a target, but they also had a variety of defensive measures, including fighter planes to help a) take some of that fire and b) protect the bombers from other planes.
SE Cupp needs to do something about this, and we need to help her. The people at Hustler should be pilloried and (if possible) sued.

Without seeing it, that's a hard call to make, but I suspect it does--not to mention, does SE Cupp qualify as a sufficiently public figure? That is, part of the "believable" caveat would rely on being an extremely well known figure, it seems to me. If Michelle Obama, for example, is parodied doing something pornographic, the likelihood of skepticism by the viewer increases because we assume if it were true it would also be well known. If you show the average person a picture of SE Cupp doing something pornographic, however, there is no similar level of "prove it." The response of most is, why would anyone fake a picture of a relative unknown?
As far as whether this is actionable, I remember Penthouse being sued by an actual well known person for publishing alleged NSFW photos and incorrectly identifying them. I'm pretty sure this woman won, too. (Googled: It was Anna Kournikova, and Penthouse settled.)

Hustler's intentioned results of debasement are additionally verbalized in their screed in which they justify their actions by joining S.E. Cupp's political beliefs to the image.
We live in dark times as beyond the image being graphic is the ubiquitous liberal subtext that conservatives are not at liberty to have competing thoughts guided by an ethical belief system. The left simply wants to create a vacuum of thought through intimidation and control.
This is very dangerous for a society as the left is attempting to deny the right a seat at humanity's table; continuing on such a vector provides the left with absolute judgement and justification. When this happens, anything can happen for reason, decency and ethics become dissassociated with cognition.
We must never let ourselves mimic the left in such morally debase political desires.
We must stand up with conviction on a platform affixed to the bedrock of moral courage.

It is my firm belief that no woman in America should be unarmed. ( <.<
There are too many cheap, and effective, defensive options available in this country for a woman to go about defenseless. Kahr's CM40 is a good choice, plenty of power, easy to shoot, easier still to conceal.

I have this fantasy...something that keeps me warm and helps calm the helpless rage I feel every now and again when things like this happen...I know it will never be real, but just imagining it is somewhat therapeutic...
...it goes like this...
...first, I have buttloads of money. The kind of buttloads that automatically come with a certain amount of power.
My day job is powerful billionaire business man.
However, my hobby is hanging out with a group of guys with various talents. Some of them are ex-navy seals. Others are former covert ops types. We all share the same ideals. Every now and then, we pay a visit to certain people who have caught our attention. We visit them and we tell them who we are, and then we leave.
We leave, and they...well, they just kind of stop existing.
We call ourselves "The Meteorologists", and our first visit is to a certain ghost writer for a president's "autobiography".
The scenario is always the same. We recon them for weeks, make sure there is a place where we can confront them alone and not be seen or heard. Then we pick a night and move in, blocking all possible escapes. I always make sure my compatriots are masked, but I reserve the privilege of revealing my identity solely for myself.
The target, frightened out of his mind and knowing what is coming always asks, "Who are you?" followed by "Do you know who I am?"
I always answer with "We are the Meteorologists, and yes, we know exactly who you are. That's why we're here."
And then - depending on the severity of the target's 'crime' - there is either a small amount of suffering endured, or it's just a quick offing and we disappear.
Examples of other targets? Not the president if that's what you're wondering. Much as I loathe the man, he has done nothing to warrant that kind of attention or consequence.
On the other hand...there's the aforementioned ghost-writing 'biographer', who killed a police officer and intended to kill many more...and never paid for his crimes. There's the film director who thinks sodomizing a young girl is an offense worthy of a slap on the wrist. The douchebag who knocked up the daughter of a vice-presidential candidate and continues to antagonize her family publicly. And lately, the unrepentant 'Speedway Bomber' and a wheelchair-bound a-hole who thinks degrading a certain kind of female is humorous.
Me and my Meterologists have paid visits to these and other persons of interest...all in my mind. Sometimes it makes me smile...those moments of sheer terror played out across the faces of people who have spent a lifetime antagonizing or terrorizing others.
But it's all just a fantasy; a delicious, dark, probably-best-left-unsaid-but-I-said-it-anyway fantasy.

I really don't like anyone calling that Dog-Eating Retard a Tea Partier. Breitbart is wrong on this. Offensively wrong. If they want to talk about the garb and flag ... then fine, I guess, but the Dog-Eater has always been, and is, the antithesis of a Tea Partier and nothing but hateful of America.
Breitbart ate the pooch on this one. Too cute by half and not well thought out.

"It would be nice to have reassurance that there are still those on the left who do likewise."
After eight years of the absolute shit the left threw at Bush, Ace, I have no illusions. They are animals. They are not to be negotiated with, they are not to be spoken to, they are not to be allowed in decent society. They are the enemy, and it's long past time we resigned ourselves to that fact and treated them like the enemy.
To paraphrase my old granddaddy - wish for that "reassurance" in one hand and shit in the other. See which fills up first.

Could people mistake this for real? I think some could."
It's hard to mistake it for real when there's a disclaimer message right underneath the picture that says it's not real. No doubt some people might mistake it for real regardless. Those people probably can't read very well and shouldn't be taken that seriously.

>>>>> No comment here; it's been a while since I've looked at a Hustler, and I'm not qualified to critique the quality of its contents.
If you want alternatives, I can suggest some. And by some I mean "fifty."
>>>>> Thanks, but no thanks.
Allah wonders if it's possible that this crosses the defamation line, since the Supreme Court decision which found that Hustler did not defame Jerry Falwell relied upon the notion that no one could mistake it for real.
>>>>> Yes, I saw The People vs. Larry Flynt too. Hats off to Woody and Ed (those left-wing bastards) for their excellent performances.
Could people mistake this for real? I think some could.
>>>>> If taken out of context (context being the large, yellow disclaimer), I suppose people could mistake this for real. People mistook a radio broadcast of the War of the Worlds for an alien invasion, and some of them killed themselves... and the world kept right on turning. Mountains out of mole-hills, dearest Allah.
What he doesn't wonder about is whether or not the mainstream media will advocate on behalf of S.E. Cupp's dignity, as they were so eager to do with Sandra Fluke.
>>>>> Maybe Allah should get out more. How about the ladies of the View? Mainstream enough for you?
No one wonders that.
>>>>> Nope, nobody wonders that. You know why?
They won't.
>>>>> They did. See video at the following address: http://tinyurl.com/Suck-it-Ace
Period.
>>>>> Ellipsis...
Let me give my own personal vow to SE Cupp: I'll never look at this hoax photoshop. So no, personally, I will never have this image in my head.
>>>>> How noble of you, but I bet that last part is untrue.
I hope/trust that almost everyone will also take this vow (unless they have to look at it, for example, if they're a lawyer suing Flynt).
>>>>> Almost everyone. That's a fairly large amount of hope/trust.
So at least we can reassure S.E. Cupp that very few people she's ever likely to meet, or read her, or follow her column will know of it.
>>>>> What a gentleman! I bet she'll be so grateful for your reassurance that she'll suck your cock. Whooops.
Absurd thuggery.
>>>>> Prudish buffoonery.
The left needs to understand something. This isn't a threat. This is common sense.
>>>>> You need to understand something. This isn't an abomination. This is satire. A couple months ago, it was Bill Maher with a dick in his mouth. Where was your outrage then?
Success breeds imitation.
>>>>> That's the combination of American(tm) free speech and the free market at work, sir. If only you lived in North Korea.
Some on the left may be rather pleased about this, or about Brett Kimberlin's serial harassment of critics exercising their free speech rights.
>>>>> Nice speculation. I can do that too. Some in Canada may be rather pleased that their neighbors to the south make them look skinny and smart by comparison. Please, continue.
They might be pleased... for now.
>>>>> Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnn!
But if the right is as thuggish and crazy and evil as the left suggests -- do they really think that this sort of behavior, if permitted to prosper, will not be imitated and deployed against the left?
>>>>> I'm fairly sure I've never heard anyone claim immunity from satire.
Of course it will be. Success breeds imitators.
>>>>> There's that pesky free market thing again.
Now, I think this crap is disgusting, no matter who it's directed against.
>>>>> Now, that is a thoroughly principled and morally defensible statement. I'm sure that the next word won't be "but".
But I gotta tell you -- if the left is just going to snigger and giggle at this ruthless behavior, I'm going to be inclined to do the exact same thing when some deranged thug on the right begins to take things personal against the left.
>>>>> So you denounce this type of parody, unless the target is someone with whom you disagree. At that point, it becomes snigger/giggle-worthy. That is some damned ethical behavior.
On the other hand, if the left stands for basic decency and humanity, I personally would go just as hard against a right-wing monster as against a left-wing one.
>>>>> You're now twice admitting that your even-handedness depends on the even-handedness of others. Sounds principled to me!
You know, there are not just two parties, liberal and conservative. There are at least two more parties that intersect with those-- the party of the decent, and the party of the indecent.
>>>>> Okay, I see where you're going...
The party of the honorable, and the party of the repulsive.
>>>>> I bet I know which party you're going to claim allegiance to!
I claim allegiance to the party of the decent and honorable over any and all other allegiances.
>>>>> Aww, shit. I guessed wrong. In that case, um... sorry to burst your bubble, but it's neither decent nor honorable to snigger and giggle at ruthless behavior just because the other guys snigger and giggle at it. They take your "Decent & Honorable" card away for stuff like that.
It would be nice to have reassurance that there are still those on the left who do likewise.
>>>>> I'm sure it would be nice to have reassurance that there are those on the left who are ethical chameleons, as you are, and while I haven't met any, the good news for you is: there is hypocrisy nearly everywhere. I do enjoy your particular brand, though. It has a certain... something. I want to say 'righteous indignation,' but it might be 'compelling consternation.'
