— Ace Ding.
Video at the Blaze, with some kind of "Magic Mike" parody of Obama (Note: I have no idea what the hell this is). Then some gags:
Well the record-breaking heat that has been affecting the rest of the country now is starting to hit Los Angeles,” Leno began, “I was sweating like President Obama trying to spin the latest unemployment numbers!”“It was so hot, Eric Holder was smuggling water pistols,” he continued. “That’s how hot it was!”
I'm always curious about what the actual American public knows, obviously. We don't count. We're mutants. We know a lot. We follow this every day (well, not weekends for me, and not before the crack of two!).
But what do non-mutants know?
Based on this they seem to know about Fast and Furious, seem to understand there's something wrong there, and seem to know that the story about unemployment is not the media's preferred "We're still adding jobs, how great is that?!"
So that's something.
Speaking of funny: Mary Katharine Ham's introduction at Hot Air is pretty funny.
Finally: Blogger works for site everyone always thought she worked for anyway...
As for what I’ll be able to accomplish here, I think we can safely say that we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the time – when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals.
I just ask that you never hold me accountable for any of that. Cool? Cool.

Anyone else ever notice how Conan O'Brien never never never ever goofs on Obama or any democrat? He only goofs on Republicans. At least Letterman, once in a blue moon, goofs on the dems. It's super rare, but it's not never.

Ace, I'd have to say that even though he's taken a few potshots at Obama before, the quality of these is rather stunning in comparison. Normally the jokes are of a more complimentary type, not sharp jabs at his problems and weaknesses like this.
It used to be, be fore Leno, that if a politician got mocked like that on the Tonight Show, he might as well resign as there was no outlasting that. It's not the same now, of course, but it is a sign that this stuff is leaking out to the low-information populace enough to joke about it, and not in a way that flatters the President.

Kimmel's and Letterman's writers are all stuck in the same mud, unwilling and apparently unable to see any comedy in anything ANY Democrat does or says. Totally In The Tank. No imagination whatsoever.
Letterman is dead to me. I used to be a big fan back in the days of his NBC show- stupid pet tricks, Larry 'Bud' Melman, Dropping Stuff... but then came 9/11 and George Bush and Iraq, and Letterman went Total Moonbat on me... what a dick. And he cheats on his wife. And he's a dick.

North Korean state-run television on Monday showed footage of costumed versions of Tigger, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters prancing in front of the leader Kim Jong-un, and an entourage of clapping generals.
The footage also showed Mr. Kim in a black Mao suit watching as Mickey Mouse conducted a group of young women playing violins in skimpy black dresses. At times, scenes from the animated Disney movies “Dumbo” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” were projected on a multipanel screen behind the entertainers; an article in the state-run press said unnamed foreign songs were on the bill.
The appearance of the characters from the United States, North Korea’s mortal enemy, was remarkable fare on tightly controlled North Korean television, which usually shows more somber and overtly political programs. A Disney spokeswoman, Zenia Mucha, had no comment Monday beyond a statement: “This was not licensed or authorized by the Walt Disney Company.”....
The performance was not the first time the Kim dynastyÂ’s fate had been entwined with Disney. In 2001, the current leaderÂ’s older brother, Kim Jong-nam, was apparently banished from the line of succession after being detained by the Japanese authorities while trying to enter Japan on a Dominican Republic passport to visit Tokyo Disneyland.

If you make a joke about airline food to people who have never flown, you won't get much of a laugh. Dennis Miller has a limited audience because a number of the references are too literary or obscure. He sprinkles in broader jokes, but if you are going to make a joke about the rhythm structure of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poetry, you aren't going to get much of a laugh.
Although Leno's jokes are manufactured and aren't exactly focus-group tested, clearly somebody in the writers' room thought that a reference to Fast and Furious would be understandable to enough of the audience that it was worth leaving in.
If you'd never heard of Fast and Furious, that would go right over your head. It'd be meaningless. Hell, for that matter, you have to know who Eric Holder is.

IT'S SO HOT in Indiana.....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance
.....hot water comes from both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 90 F and you feel a little chilly.
.....you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car.
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 A.M.
.....your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.
.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
IT'S SO DRY IN Indiana that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water!

Look, these people pick up and move every day, back with their parents, back to their country. Some of them move to Florida and prey on the elderly (should be encouraged.) These are disposable people--nobody will miss them. So consider beating the tar out of them with lawn tools, like a rake or shovel. Sure beats listening to their half-baked opinions and worse, feelings.

Here is a link (writingshares.com - the site seems OK and the F&F/Holder/Obama quips are all in the Part 1 video. The last joke at the end (the poll stating that Obama would be better than Romney against space aliens is worth the price of admission.)) LINK : http://preview.tinyurl.com/7mgl6eb

When I hear bad things about the economy and unemployment, I sometimes wonder what the average non-aware person thinks about it. You know what I've learned to go by? COMMERCIALS!
The people making commercials (real ones, not ads for Foods Stamps, or whatever) are just focused on making sales, and so they bend over backwards to be in tune with the public - spending a lot of money to do so. Basically, this amount to "studies" - only the kind that demand REAL answers, vs. the kind of "studies" acadamia is famous for.
What I notice in these commercials is there are is no shortage of references to "especially in THIS economy". So, yeah, they GET IT.
On the flip side, the general public still likes to feel good about themselves by "going green". Even there, however, this is usually in a "as long as it doesn't really cost me anything" sense. Nobody's trying to pitch that you should sacrifice (pay more) for the "green" - people expect it as an "extra" that comes along at the usual price.

I want Mary Katherine Ham to bear my children.
Except for the facts that I'm twice her age, I have two seventeen year olds, and both my wife and her husband would kill me, it's a realistic fantasy.

158: Her Hot Air byline says "Ham." So does Wikipedia, FWIW.
We share the same birthday, 24 years apart.
