— Ace John Galliano, if you've forgotten, is that idiot French designer who said he dug Nazis.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16 (see trends). ThatÂ’s the presidentÂ’s lowest rating in over a month....
For the first time since late December 2011, Mitt Romney leads the president in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Romney earns 45% of the vote, while the president attracts support from 43%. Romney holds a nine-point advantage among unaffiliated voters.
For the first time ever, Texas Congressman Ron Paul also leads the president. In that matchup, 43% prefer Paul and 41% Obama. Ten percent (10%) would vote for some other option, a figure that includes 17% of Republicans.
If former Senator Rick Santorum is the Republican nominee, the president leads by two, 45% to 43%. With former House Speaker Newt Gingrich as his opponent, the president enjoys a 10-point lead, 49% to 39%.

As you may have noticed, weÂ’ve asked you for a donation a few times now.
But according to our records, you havenÂ’t yet made an online donation to this campaign at this email address. (If our records are wrong, I apologize and thank you!)
IÂ’m not writing to ask you for money again. IÂ’m actually writing to ask your opinion about why you havenÂ’t given, and what you think would inspire you or other Obama supporters like you to decide to take the leap and donate.
We have two quick questions for you. Can you take a minute to answer them?
ThereÂ’s a good reason weÂ’re asking for your feedback: The kind of organization we all decided to be a part of only works if people like you pitch in to build it.
It’s also the reason no other candidate has been able to match our level of grassroots support. This isn’t the easiest way to run a campaign — but we know it’s the right way.
ThatÂ’s why we want to know what youÂ’re thinking.
Thanks so much,
Rufus

Which says something, when the best he can do against Santorum is +2%...and I don't mean about Santorum...
Santorum has only recently (last two weeks) started to get much scrutiny, and most of that in a low-intensity kind of way. Given his penchant for alienating people I suspect he'll become less competitive in the polls as time goes on and the non-political junkie class starts taking a closer look.
That's not to say that Mitt doesn't have issues, but hardly a day goes by in which Santorum doesn't come up with new and inventive ways of making himself look unserious.

Not true. If his support is only weak, it indicates they're less like to vote, as well. More importantly, it's what some people call the "give a damn" index: only those in the "strongly" group of either side are the ones really agitating for movement in either direction.
So, while any given "somewhat" supporter's vote will count as much as a "strongly" supporter's vote, that "somewhat" supporter is much less likely to vote in the first place.
That's Rassmussen's theory, anyway.

As far as the Oscars go: I haven't watched them in years. They're boring and pompous. They have little to do with what was actually liked, and much more to do with patting Hollywood Liberals on the back for whatever pet cause is in ascendance at the moment.

1) "Self Identified" likely voters.
2) Likely voters just means "likely to vote in the election" not necessarily to vote for either of the two provided candidates, or in the Presidential race at all.
The point is that it's those who "somewhat support" the President who are more likely to be split off to vote for some other candidate: they're unreliable support. The "strongly support" group are pretty well welded to the President.

The only reason I could think is that he's being pushed by Democrats to force Republicans to spend money on that race. "Hi, I'm Bob Kerrey, and I got the hell out of Nebraska as fast as I could to get an overpaid job running some hippie commune called The New School and now I want to be Senator from Nebraska even though I swore I'd never set foot in that backwater with you rednecks ever again. At first, I didn't want to, but now I'm allowing you hicks the opportunity to vote for me. I know, after Ben Nelson's sterling performance, you're just itching for a liberal Democrat who's even more out-of-touch and beholden to rich Democrat donors."
I guarantee you that prick's whole campaign will be his military service. All of it.

Article by the far left "New Nebraska" Network on Attorney General Jon Bruning who will (my guess as I don't live there anymore) probably get the nomination. Of course, they will surely say the same about any Rethug:
It's pretty obvious that this run up in gasoline prices isn't related to any kind of supply and demand. The major causes of this rise in gas prices is due to market manipulation by Wall Street and the oil companies.
Unfortunately, this sudden rise in gas prices is endangering the
fragile and nascent economic recovery. Finally, for the first time in
around five years, we're getting some good economic news and all of this
may be placed in jeopardy due to the actions of the greedy few who are
abusing their wealth to the detriment of everybody else.
Just where do Jon Bruning and the Republican members of the
Nebraska Congressional delegation stand when it comes to the oil
companies and Wall Street? Most of our regular readers will not be
surprised to know that they stand firmly with the oil companies and Wall
Street. (Unfortunately, very few Nebraska voters probably understand
this.)
As a starting point, all of the Nebraska Congressional Republicans voted last year for the Ryan Medicare privatization plan. Moreover, Jon Bruning has come out in support of the Ryan plan. I've spent most of my time here discussing the negative impact the Ryan plan would have on senior citizens. However, it should also be noted that the Ryan plan reduces the top corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%. What this means is that Bruning and the Nebraska Congressional Republicans support a tax cut for the likes of Exxon-Mobil and Goldman Sachs. Why in the world do these people need another tax cut? That is just ridiculous since these are some of the most profitable corporations in the history of the world. The oil companies routinely report quarterly profit amounts in the billions - not millions. And as we've discussed here, these companies are currently manipulating the market to profit off of rising gas prices while subjecting most Americans to misery at the gas pump.

Kind of like they'd already given up there, but I suppose that Kerrey will give them new hope. Disagree. His schtick is that he creates funny, unafraid characters with funny, unafraid dialogue. He then tops it off with the occasional bit of asshattery just to go over the top. If you take out the Oscar urn-spilling, the gross-out scenes in Borat, the cruder bits of Ali G., etc., his act is clever and still funny. If you don't like those bits, he's just not your cuppa tea, but that doesn't mean he's not funny.
