— Ace "No jobs created," the Washington Times reports. The contract noted that -- zero jobs created.
So what were stimulus funds doing plumping Maddow's and Olbermann's show's ad buys?
The ads touted the "Green Jobs" that aren't available.
The firm ultimately negotiated ad buys for “two approved spots” airing 14 times per week for two months on “Countdown With Keith Olbermann” and “The Rachel Maddow Show,” according to a project report, which listed the number zero under a section of the report asking how many jobs had been created through the stimulus contract.David Williams, president of the nonprofit watchdog Taxpayers Protection Alliance, called the contract “questionable” because it created no jobs and because of the placement of the ads on shows viewed as friendly to the administration’s policies.
“Hiring a PR firm does not create jobs, and this was obviously meant for selling a particular political agenda,” Mr. Williams said. “The placement really reeks of a political ad rather than a job ad, and taxpayers see through this.

Any one of us could design a multi-billion dollar 'stimuless' program if we were forced that would actually produce some jobs some growth.
Had he only picked up FDR's playbook and went with the CCC and WPA, he'd be coasting to a win now.
The stimulus and every other rule, reg, and law he has put into place comes with a tanker full of graft attached.

Posted by: The Mega Independent at August 22, 2012 10:29 AM (buaco)
OT, but I just want to get this out into cyberspace, just because.
I returned yesterday to PA from North Carolina where we buried my father-in-law. He was born dirt poor in the NC mountains, moderate education, served in Vietnam, came home and learned a trade.
His heating/AC business eventually employed and supported the families 100+ men like him, humble beginnings that led to better lives through hard work and my father-in-law's risk-taking and faith in the land of opportunity.
That's a corny notion that would cause serious eye-rolling among liberals. More than 200 turned out in tiny Harrisburg, NC for his funeral. Many of them were competitors or suppliers who spoke of my father-in-law's honesty. As a city boy myself, I hadn't seen such values up close, and never saw them celebrated out in the open. I fear I cried more than I will at my own dad's funeral.
My father-in-law is the kind of American who doesn't exist according to the Left. They consider his story - about as American a story as you can find - to be right-wing fiction. And right now there is a boy growing up poor in the mountains of North Carolina, being told by his president that he can't make it on his own, so the odds are less likely that the boy will. Tragic. Just had to get that out there.

• What ties are there, if any, between McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC and the Obama Administration?
• Were the costs for the spots consistent with other commercials for those particular hosts?
• What bills were passing through Congress at that time?
• What pushback (organized or otherwise) to the stimulus program was going on at that time?
Then again, maybe the job that the Administration was trying to create or save was Keith Olbermann's.

What the commies and socialists conveniently forget is that greed is a common human frailty that extends to all human constructs. The salient point is that capitalism depends on voluntary transactions between humans, while political systems rely on coerced transactions between the same flawed humans.

Good soundbites are out there for the RNC to make this into a commercial.
I recall Joe and Barky both touting Biden as 'Sheriff Stimulus".
Lots of clips of that out there...along with lots of Stimulus failure stories.

ADSCAM. Sort of. It broke at election time and The Majority Gov't Liberals became Minority Governing Liberals, then Official Opposition against Minority Gov't Conservatives, Two elections later we have Majority Conservatives with NDP Official Opposition and Liberals currently sucking hind teat. How the mighty have fallen. Jail time for some as well I think.
Good times. Good times.

In a truly honest political world -- okay, morons, stop laffing! -- there would already be a United States v. Bark Obama and Does 1-227 indictment handed down.
Because of the aforementioned Eunuch Brigade, the Choomer-in-Chief has been able to pull illegal shit more blatantly.
As for Reid's power in the Senate: an in-depth investigation into some of that animated cadaver's doings would almost certainly get him named in several indictments of his own. That might slow the fucker down a bit.

Hopefully, there will be enough room in your biz for all of you. At the funeral, one of his suppliers told me that Tom had fallen way behind in a payment when his business wasn't going well. The supplier said "you can pay us later," and he did. He told me "Nine out of ten folks never pay me when then say that, but he did."
These kinds of stories play out every day across America. As one poster said, this is what the election is about: People like Tom vs. People Tom's taxes support.

Right: engineers whose mistakes cause product recalls, re-designs, deaths, property destruction, who because of their profession usually become obsessive about detail to the irritation of everyone around them, they simply can't understand how something small could be so hugely important.
I have never in my life heard something so wrongheaded about the field of engineering.

Sorry, but that doesn't work. When such a total mockery is made of the Rule of Law either you go against the offenders (especially when it has been this serious, blatant, outrageous and constant) and hold them accountable or you accept the fact that there is not, nor will be, any Rule of Law left. You can't just put it out of your mind and pretend it never happened.
Unless these criminals and traitors are jailed America will have no chance of being restored. No chance, at all. We might get a temporary reprieve, but one economic shock and it's right back to the insanity and even worse than now, because there is precedent and precedent that was allowed without a peep or any attempt to hold people accountable.
There is still a lot of very hard work to be done but if it's not done then nothing will be fixed - nothing will be changed in any way.
And Benedickhead Roberts certainly needs to be impeached, removed and put on the only bench he is fit to serve on, a park bench.

I think you misheard what the caller was trying to say. The caller was saying that since Akin had an engineering background, he couldn't understand the "emotional" side of the issue that resulted from his statement. This was based on the caller's own experience with engineers and the fact that they (engineers) do not deal in emotion, but instead they deal in logic and facts.
Being an engineer myself, this is a fairly accurate portrayal of how engineers function.

I feel exactly as you. Although, like I said, the reality of American politics will most likely preclude any trial, except, perhaps for Holder.
I'm also thinking of the precedent it would set. Remember how the libtards wanted to put Bush on trial? Just think of the French-Revolution style trials that would ensue when, eventually, the dems regain power (and they will at some point in time).

I agree with that assessment. That is the most likely outcome, which is why I don't think this nation has much of a future, no matter what the outcome of this election. It's very sad and an infinite waste but, as you say, that's probably how it's going to be. The only part where I disagreed with you is that it just won't be enough to merely vote them out. That will solve nothing and the hard monetary and fiscal policy that has to be coming down the road (leading to some serious pain in order to get things working again in this nation) will be something that will just prompt another suicidal break in the following elections that will return us to this insane, lawless shithole - but in a much more permanent way as it will be building on all the incredible damage that was done and left or ignored.
This is why I think the Constitutional Union of American States is coming - one way or another. I just don't think this nation has the balls to do what is necessary to restore America and the Rule of Law.
I'm also thinking of the precedent it would set. Remember how the libtards wanted to put Bush on trial? Just think of the French-Revolution style trials that would ensue when, eventually, the dems regain power (and they will at some point in time).

I hear you, but it doesn't matter. The leftards push for that shit, anyway. The fact is that Barky MUST be tried for his serious crimes, which attacked the very foundations of this nation. If he can't be held accountable for any of them then it's pretty much all over.
As I said, I agree with you that this likely won't happen but where we part is that I think the consequences of Barky never being held to account are irreparable and, in the end, fatal.

What the commies and socialists conveniently forget is that greed is a common human frailty that extends to all human constructs.
The commies and socialists argue that greed is not intrinsic to human nature, but arises from living in a capitalist society. In a non-capitalist society, they maintain, everyone would be altruistic and sharing.
OK, stop laughing. It's not polite.
