Update: Newt Gingrich claims that "at least two networks" already have leaked emails from the National Security Adviser's office telling a counterterrorism group to stand down and take no action to save lives. Their rationale was apparently because this wasn't "terrorist action."

In my small town (600) trick or treating happens on the 30th. The tradition started over one hundred years ago due to too much adult gunplay on Halloween. Haven't learned yet why adults were out shooting on Halloween. Maybe they were hunting witches.

I have picked out a nice 60 foot cliff in the canyon just outside town. I have a chair with flag prepared, and plenty of hefty twine. Have figured out a way to access the cliff by way of a drainage and short hike. Will be hanging the chair today where it will hang above the highway as it winds through the canyon.

I had a friend who said he was for Obama (originally) because of the deficits, claiming that (because of Bill Clinton) Democrats were more fiscally responsible. Now that Obama has doubled the deficits, I'm sure he's still an Obama supporter. This is the kind of guy who listens to NPR, and thinks they have to be unbiased, because they're funded by the govt, and therefore that he's a moderate.

The way I look at it, the election is about the independents who went for Obama. For them, it's the election is a "Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me!" situation.

Me too. All I can come up with is Obama's narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), which I have found to be an adequate exlanation for most of his behavior. People with NPD are not only pathological liars, but they also lack empathy, and live in constant denial of reality.

So all I've got is that what was happening was in complete contradiction with what the President was telling himself about terrorism, and his refusal to handle the situation - or allow others to handle it - was part of his pathological rejection of that reality. It's a frightening conclusion, but I can't think of another.

Let's face it - the people who normally handle this stuff are good at what they do, and what they do is find out what's happening (which happened almost immediately) and respond. To NOT respond takes some anomalous behavior at a very high level.

I don't think so. He's reported on the Benghazi thing on his blog. If ABC chooses not to give it more airtime, that's on them- he's just a reporter.

Honestly, I think I see what's going on with the recent Tapper hate. He was among only a couple of WH reporters being remotely aggressive, and some conservatives somehow took that as a sign that he was secretly on "our side". When he disappointed by playing it straight, they felt betrayed.

It depends if it's sustained, continuous fire or bursts. A good operator is trained to fire in bursts. I know for a fact that the barrel on an M60 will start to glow red hot after several hundred rounds of continuous fire. I've seen it myself. It will get so hot, you can actually see the rounds travelling through the barrel.
