— andy It's been said that it takes 10,000 hours of experience to master any skill. Which means these guys are all now master debaters, right? I mean, holy schnikes, how many of these things does it take?
Apparently at least two more. The first one is tonight at 9pm Eastern on ABC. Livestream here.
Also, you can follow on Twitter at hashtag #NHDebate, and campaign reps for every candidate will be applying lipstick to their pigs in the Twitter #spinroom.
Then, for Saints and Lions fans I guess, there's another debate tomorrow morning at 9am Eastern on NBC. I doubt anybody here will be sobered up enough for that one after tonight's drunkblog liveblog, but TiVo.
Also, for additional entertainment value ABC stuck Diane Sawyer in one of the moderators' chairs again tonight. I'll take the over on whether she "visited a pharmacy" earlier in the day.
Now let's do this thing!
Standard reminder: Your comments do not automatically display. So don't ask "Why aren't my comments displaying?" They don't display.
They're not posted comments a la chat room. Instead they go to queue, which the producers (cobloggers) read, and we post them, by hand, if we think they make a good point.
Liveblog thingy below the fold.

How is it, that 40% of the damn country declares themselves conservative yet we have less than a 10% makeup in our federal government? Maybe we can get more to vote next time or something!?
The Republican party should be sunk and we should start over with a new party, they have manipulated the system to keep out anyone that actually wants to stop the expansion of the government.
Oh well, I will be watching the playoffs not the All Barack Channel debate.

Holy crap. I just spent the entire day in my underwear playing video games.
I've been here since about 3:30, which is a new indoor record for me.
For the record, I've loved every minute of it.
I'll just lurk from now on, watching the Saints/Lions game and reading y'all's take on the proceedings.
Have fun and try not to trash the place, 'k?

I'm like watching this debate you know, and like it's so cool because like you know I'm going to be punditting about it later on TV.
Does punditting have like one T or two, cause it just like looks wrong. Oh well nobody can see it on TV like you know where I am.

I wish someone would ask Romney what would happen to bond rates and inflation...
I mean maybe he has the answer-but no one follows up with that.
A substantive question from this panel? Shirley, you jest. They are there to divide...

Hehehehehehehe, poooorrr widdle bawawky obamey. He is such a woooser. Cannot say that!
Here is the problem with everyone of them on the stage, I saw a vid of Ryan Air addressing the EU in Brussells, that guy tore them up. He stated right to their faces that it is not Europe that is the problem, it is the frelling bureaucracy that is the problem. Just as it is in the US.
Not one of these idiots even addresses the substitive problem, the bureaucracies. Hell, Romney states he know the problems, but never states what they are. I built all kinds of sites, commercial, residential, industrial, it always comes down to government interference. They can talk all they want about increasing manufacturing and industrialization, problem is, they will NEVER be able to stop the problem unless they destroy the very bureaucracies that are the center of the problem. They will then have to address the courts that the environmento freaks use to hold up business and expansion. Hell, I had one freak hold up a project for a year for ONE, ONE redtail hawk nest. Redtail hawks are not an endangered species, they are prevalent throughout the entire country. But hey, we cannot harm one redtail hawk nest, even if it is to provide 96 homes for humans!
I have dealt with city, county, state inspectors, they are NOT the problems, the problems are the freaks in government that create these laws that require anything and everything to be studied, cataloged, choreographed, etc, etc, etc before anything that can be done.
Obama, spoke about how in the past we created huge improvements like the Hoover Dam, in today's world, it would take 10 years to get the original approvement. Each and every adjustment would take another 10 years to be approved. This is why the US is becoming a 3rd world country, not because of non initiative, but because of the inability to actually do ANYTHING!
We have become the USSA!

Sawyer does look like she took a few vicodins to prep herself for the debate.
Why did the debate end at 10:40 instead of 11:00? Did they intentionally time it so MFM assholes had 20 minutes to follow up with "analysis"?

All Barack Channel running the debate.
I swear, the Republican party is allowing the debates to be run by the Democrat run media on purpose. There is NO OTHER EXPLANATION.
Yeah, I am not a normally conspiracy minded individual, so you give me the explanation that makes sense besides this one. The Republicans are being destroyed by the very media that denigrates conservatism every single day. Yeah, that would be my choice for outlets!

Posted by: tasker at January 07, 2012 10:38 PM (r2PLg)
It was maybe a bit wide, but I like wide ties versus skinny ones. The skinny ones that Newt and Santorum wore don't do it for me. I also liked the pattern, big diagonal stripes. He used a winsdor knot (a plus) but it was very sloppily tied. He probably tied it himself and didn't notice how bad of a job he did. He had a chance for the best tie of the debate and totally blew it.Posted by: Ed Anger - Certified Kos Kid at January 07, 2012 06:59 PM (7+pP9)

Hmmm. So many divisive questions, so little in the way of clear answers. I'll admit this is the first debate I've watched since the second one, and I just flipped over at halftime, so I missed the first part of it.
I'm still disappointed that Newt was the only one who really took it to the SCOAMF. I'd really have liked to heard a kindler, gentler tone amongst the candidates and a hell of a lot more criticism of this current communist regime.
Oh, and D. Kramer, you ain't seen nothing like I've seen in manufacturing over the years. We are truly killing ourselves with overregulation: it gets lip service, even from the SCOAMF, but nobody, and I mean nobody, ever does anything to actually stop it. It seems like whomever we vote for, the onslaught of regulations continue unabated.
How will it ever stop? Why is our own government intent upon defying us?
More importantly, how did we lose control of our own damned government and how do we get that control back?

I thought Diane Sawyer looked kind of hot. She's in my top 3 for the 65-75 age group with Raquel Welch being number 1.
Sawyer did seem drunk though...easy score.
Romney won the debate but I have to admit, Gingrich describing all of the effects of gay marriage re: the Catholic Church was the best part of the debate.

Hehehehehehehehe
My last project was a Jimmy John's in New Mexico. Electrical design was all frelled up, got it done after numerous redesigns and firing the first electrical contractor, my General paid the initial idiot almost the entire contract before he was done. JEEEEEZ!
Your silt fence statement reminds me of the 55 unit single level homes and duplexes I built for my second project in Fresno Ca. I came back from vacation and as I was approaching the site, from about a mile away, I started noticing silt in the drainage gutter along the roads. My site was a disaster, I told my project manager to keep a watch on the laborers, they were a collection of lay arses. I guess he left one day and instead of watering the site with the hoses and water truck to keep the dust down, they decided to get drunk and just flood the site with the hydrants!
Spent the next three weeks cleaning and training in new laborers. Oh well, it was all worth it, being that I was salaried, I got to work an extra 30 hours per week for three weeks to clean up the mess. For no extra pay!
Fresno is a basin of clay that is like concrete when dry, under that is hardpan that makes concrete look soft. But when you get a little rain or someone flooding the site, it turns into a sloppy mess. If you allow any traffic, the moisture travels down into the soil and destroys the compaction. Some of the worst soil conditions I have ever seen!
As for Galt, been that way since I left Fresno in 08, been doing minimal work for the last 3 years. Building websites for minimal money.

This is the most I watched any debate so far... who made the decision to marginalize Perry and Gingrich? Am I crazy? What I saw was Huntsman getting as much questions tossed at him as Mitt, with Paul and Santorum bickering with each other. It can't be based on anything other than ABC News deciding how to manage the clock, can it? One time I heard Perry actually have to CUT IN to get in a comment!

It's an important point and you nailed it squarely. The GOP is just going through the motions for 2012. If they were serious about winning they would've been working their asses off to reform the primary system beginning in 2009.
But the GOP doesn't really want to win. That's why they're perfectly content with liberals running their debates and the current flawed primary system.
The bastards are working as hard as the Democrats and MFM to demoralize the conservative base.

I think tonight sewed it up for him.
I have that same sinking feeling myself that Mittens will be the nominee. That won't stop me from pulling for Perry right up until the second he drops out, though.
In a perfect world where everything wasn't backwards, someone on his committee would monitor this site and take a few notes. He has a lot to learn. Since he's proven to move in the direction of the wind, he could sure do worse than listen to us.
Oh, BTW, did anybody catch the last question's answers about the "football championship game?"

I think there is a solution to this problem. A President can declare an emergency with the approval of the Congress, they then can bypass almost any and all regulations. I believe this is what it is going to take.
Think about that crap with the Canadian oil pipeline, they originally took 3 years to study the impact and Obama wanted to do another study!
All it takes is initiative and some balls, but of course, there are not many left in DC with balls, they all come with bribery skills though, and pink tootoos!

It is so strange how many of you just don't get it.
Romney is huge. He will be like Reagan in twenty years... everyone will want to say how they supported him.
And you all will either lie, or be embarrassed.
Who are you going to say you supported? Newt Gingrich? Really? Against Mitt Romney? You won't be proud of that in a couple of years.
