Lulz: Patterico Reveals Neal Rauhauser's Sockpupet & Conspiracy To Harass and Defame
— Ace

You don't come after Patterico with sockpuppets.

If he'd've asked Gleen Grenwald, he'd know that.

By the way, did you know that Instapundit had now joined the massive conspiracy to threaten Brett Kimberlin? According to Exhibit E in Brett Kimberlin's bazillionth court filing, it's true.

It's so threatening.

Of course, it never occured to me that a picture of that horrible barbarian Dr. Reynolds would end up as an exhibit in a court filing so that took care of that.

Well that's the thing - guys who profess to be l33t hax0r types usually aren't nearly as elite as they think they are. Plus if you're hax0ring day in day out, you're bound to eventually screw up and/or give yourself away by the constant consistency in your behavior.

Posted by: Mætenloch at June 27, 2012 11:09 AM (pAlYe)

64 One reason narcissists devolve into paranoids and psychopaths is that they can't believe that they've failed because they've made mistakes.

Their failure(s) must be the result of outside interference and because they are so super smart and clever. It must be a vast conspiracy that manages to thwart their every move. (vast conspiracy. sound familiar?)

When this happens often enough, the defective individual becomes immersed in paranoid delusions and formulates multiple plans to counteract those who he believes are responsible for their failures. They create a fantasy world in their mind where they are the great and powerful crusader against an uncaring or hostile world. The list of  his enemies grows and grows as his circle of associates (never friends) grows smaller.

Eventually they are left with only themselves in a dark mental hole of their own making where they ponder; "how could this happen to ME?" All the while trying to present to the world a face of invincibility and overwhelming intelligence. (They are legends in their own minds.)

At this point they are at their most physically dangerous and must be handled very carefully with institutional confinement and medication.

80 Patterico said he did not forewarn the local police even though he thought of it because he did not want to seem to be a crackpot.  Given the nature of his job I can understand that.  Also I do not believe there had been as many swattings at that point.

This is another reason we should legalize drugs.  There is an opportunity cost when all of your resources are dedicated to running down the very last joint.  People who create this kind of trouble feed off the law enforcement system being too overwhelmed to pay them much mind.  Usually this only changes when someone is finally hurt or when their number comes up on the roulette wheel.

Like everyone else says... these sorts never know when to quit.  If they knew that they would never start in the first place.  They aren't smart enough to understand that they are going to spend a good part of the rest of their lives in jail before all is said and done.

113 But, if those people are going after conservatives, posting all sorts of info about them, then why not fight fire with fire?

Because:
a) there's a good case that it's illegal
b) they're using people who do that as "evidence" to get bloggers thrown in jail.
c) escalating the situation, if you're not intending on actual violence, is never a good idea
d) the targeted bloggers have asked you (politely and repeatedly) not to.

And that's just off the top of my head.

Also, even though I watched both Adam-12 and Emergency as a wee one, it wasn't until I watched the pilot episode as an adult that I discovered it was a spin off of Adam-12.

I'm sure that if you'd like to, and risk the SWATing, suing, badgering, etc. on your own time, TYA.  You're just doing it on your own accord without any link, backing or direction from the persons already involved.

Conservatives as a whole usually try the legal route to accomplish things.  These jackasses are taking it to a whole new level by abusing the system and getting away with it.

It's only now that our side is pushing back by pulling the rug back and shining some light for others to see the rot.

128 HH. They are so far being effectively dealt with in the proper manner, through the proper channels that will most likely put a permanent end to their misuse and may even result in long deserved incarceration.

Now that the spotlight has been brought to bear upon them, let's let the wheels of justice do it's thing.

The wheels of justice turn slowly but grind very finely.

Those who are violating the law, abusing the system and who have serious mental and emotional problems will get their just rewards and supervision.

I doubt he's using his DA information on any of this.  The IP info is pretty easily acquired if you are the one running a site.  And the reason he's doing this and spending his personal time on this "Personal shit" is because the life you want him to get is being threatened by these assholes.

139 Don't think that the crap will end. There's always something else.

It's in the genes or something. There's always someone who thinks they're better, smarter, handsomer, prettier than everyone else and shouldn't have to follow the rules or thinks they have better rules to follow.

According to the bible, with only 4 people in the world, we had envy, jealousy and murder within less than one generation.

Why would anyone think it'll ever get better.

Try  to make your own little corner of the world "better" that would be a big help.
