MAP TIME- Romney's Paths to 269
— CAC

269, since the Republicans control the House enough to break the tie.

270, well, President time anyway.

Big Map, long overdue, and had to step on the furball below.

Enjoy.

Now you see why I want us to go after Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Oh, and Mitt Romney is starting ads up in Michigan, sending Ann there, and OfA is dragging workers out of it into Ohio to firewall the Buckeye state.
Drip drip drip, I say...

91 Ok, here is where I think things stand. Keep in mind, this assumes things stay about as they are now. If Obama catches a tailwind somehow, things could change.

FL, NC, and VA are now in Romney's column. He is ahead by enough that unlimited commercials can't swing them back to Obama.

IA is almost in Romney's column and NH and CO are tied. Obama is leading in NV, OR, WI, MI, and PA.

But it all comes down to OH. Romney is leading there by about 3, but it is a must win for Obama (it isn't for Romney). It is the hill that Obama will die on.

If Romney wins OH and IA, CO, or NH, he wins.

Obama will never admit to pulling out of FL, NC, or VA, and will keep doing events in VA. He can't afford to let people think he is giving up on any state.

Because Suffolk is not polling there anymore, Mclaughlin just found today that Romney is up 51-44 on Obama, and the other polls are finding the Prez tied or behind Romney with margins of Democrats like 2008. In 2009 it was R+4 for the governor's race with Obama campaigning HEAVILY for Deeds.

124 75 review your US western history

Of all SW States, NM is the closest thing identifying with how it was politically as it sought statehood, early 20th Century political alignment as Democratic. It isn't as if people from the Industrial States swarmed to mine silver in NM like they did when gold was discovered in CA. The native tribes and Mexicans were exploited in both states. California converted from Republican to Democrat subsequent to Gov. Reagan -- beginning with the courts and schools. Remember Angela Davis and the Black Panther Marin County court room shoot out. Ah, the inspiration for Obama and AG Holder, "social justice".

MN will stay Obama (sob).  We turned both the MN house and Senate Republican in 2010.  EVERY F'n statewide race went to the DFL (democrats).  We did pick up one house seat (Cravaack).

Klobuchar our Democrat senator will unfortunately be re-elected unless a miracle occurs.

136 In all seriousness, I think conservative bloggers should insist on showing Republicans as blue and Democrats as red. Traditionally, the parties did not have colors attached to them. It was begun by TV networks during election coverage, and there was no rule about which party got which color. The whole "red state/blue state" thing came from the MSM in the wake of the 2000 election, and the colors have been frozen since then. We all know that Democrats are thoroughly Red. Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, and Florida.

Good news is I think Romney's got a good lead in Florida.  Bad news is, it's not at all impossible imagining dickwad winning those others, in particular Wisconsin and Michigan.  247 dumb dumb, 235 Romney.  We basically have to win Ohio there.

But, I could also easily see Romney taking 2 out of the Iowa-Wisconsin-Nevada group.

168 "269, since the Republicans control the House enough to break the tie."

If the election is thrown into the House, and the GOP vote there to evict Obama, you can expect urban riots that will make the post-Rodney King riots in L.A. look like a garden party.

It would get a Romney presidency off to a really bad start.

Want to not have that happen? Want an unambiguous victory? Then volunteer, donate and GOTV, for goodness' sake!

And the big guns are coming to PA as well, Christie was here yesterday, Preibus was here and Scott Walker is coming today. Keep them coming I say- there are exactly ZERO Obama signs in my neck of the woods, as opposed to four years ago when I was choking on them.

There are however, many Romney signs- and one in particular (mine) with an empty chair next to it.

There are also about half a dozen bright orange signs that read "Defend Freedom Defeat Obama"...

I'm in Southeastern PA, Chester County. It swung uncharacteristically for Obama last time. I can almost guarantee it will not happen again.
