— DrewM Yesterday Ace blogged about the upcoming anti-fracking movie Matt Damon is staring in and it's problems keep the good guys and bad guys straight.
Well, it turns out there are some interesting money folks behind the movie. Namely the people that run the United Arab Emirates.
Now I wonder, why in the world would some of the world's largest exporters of oil have an interest in demonizing domestic oil production in the US? Oh right, they want to shut down a major source of product not under their control thereby weakening their cartel's ability to control supply and pricing.
Huh.
Matt Damon: Useful idiot for the biggest of Big Oil.

I remember that was one of the first things we learnerd in International Oil and Gas law. The Big in Big Oil isn't big next to the nationally owned oil comapnies whether it be Pemex, Petrobras, CNOC, Aramco, Adnoc, Citgo, Royal Dutch Shell, etc.
The only way our companies can compete with these monopolies is by being "huge."

Well, it does cause pollution. It's not a perfect technique for extracting fossil fuels...it's just damned good.
I'm perfectly willing to accept the minor increase in pollution (which is mitigated almost immediately) for a cheap, easy and abundant fuel supply.
But I'm a running-dog lackey of the fascist oppressor, so my vote doesn't count.

It was 1988 but that's not the point. The story references him as a long time democrat activist and this was just a few years ago
The people story was from, what 2003, when Arnold was trying to unseat Davis for the governor. Lowe is a democrat activist, who just happened to be on Arnold's side.
Lowe might not be a flaming liberal; but at least browse his twitter feed. He's clearly pro-Obama. He's no conservative.

The fracking fluids get into the groundwater...of that there is no doubt. They are also about 99% water, so it's not that big a deal. They also use HCL in the fluids, which can do some damage.
But it's all manageable, although let's not pretend that it is perfect.

As he has gotten older and fatter, he no longer looks like a teenage boy, so Harry Reid is no longer interested in having buttsex with him on a regular basis.
But more importantly, as he has gotten older and fatter, he has also started losing his hair, and his face, especially with that slightly upturned puggish nose is looking more and more pig-like, resulting in his loss of appeal to the young girl movie going public.
Knowing this, Matt has begun to move heavily towards a social conscience environmental protection hate the rich white man approach in order to appeal to the older single female liberal demographic.
The reasoning is that these unmarried middle aged women who
have on average 5 cats...
and 40 pounds of extra belly and thigh fat...
3 vibrators...
read romance novels on their lunch breaks...
often work in education or at non-profit liberal coporations...
volunteer at acorn and planned parenthood...
canvas for Obama as a means to filling the Saturday I wish I had a man ache...
hate successful men and delude themselves with the belief that successful business men only value superficial stuff like pretty woman that look and smell nice and usually have all their teeth...which is why they can't see past their stringy once a week washed mousey hair, cottage cheese styled cellulite thighs, makeup free manfaces, and the stench of their obama volunteer sweat that they just mask with another layer of under arm deodorant in the mornings since official save the planet and conserve water bathing day is still three days away...
these women need a hollywood idol they can relate to...and Matt intends to plug that hole.
If that doesn't work, Matt intends to announce that he is a Gay Muslim.
