In related news, water is wet
— andy Pat yourselves on the backs, morons. Yesterday's exercise of packing the reviews of his book hit pay dirt.
As some of you are probably aware, I tweeted something rather rude upon learning the news of Andrew Breitbart's death. Consequently, many of his many fans are unhappy with me. Fair enough. In consequence of that, many of them have decided to spam the Amazon page for The Rent Is Too Damn High with highly negative reviews that typically reveal that the reviewer has not even made a passing acquaintance with my views.
Boo-effing-hoo.
Y'know, Matt, unlike lefties who can't accept a sincere apology, this wouldn't have happened if you had apologized for that tweet. But no apology's forthcoming, is it? That's only expected of conservatives.
As LauraW. said in an email this morning: "We think they're wrong. They think we're evil. We're playing to not lose, occasionally playing to win, by the rules. They're playing to destroy us, utterly, however they can."
Precisely.
So for starters in fighting back against this, there are three people who need to be mercilessly hounded at every available opportunity for their reactions to Breitbart's death and for just being asshats in general. First and foremost is David Frum, followed by Matt Taibbi and Yglesias.
None of these punks should expect anything other than an attack lurking around every corner. So if you haven't had a chance yet, go and give Matt's book an appropriate review.
Also, congratulations to Ben, whose review got picked up at Instapundit.
I wasnÂ’t expecting 20 pages filled with naked pictures of the author in various poses. I found the photos that included animals to be in extremely poor taste.

Don't forget to mark the lefty fan-boy reviews as "not helpful" and anything that mentions "Breitbart's trolls" as "inappropriate."

Flight 93 figured that out the morning of Sept. 11th. Breitbart figured that out some time ago; too bad it took his passing for the rest of us to figure it out and do something about it.

Yeah, tell you what, I'm of the you first theory on civility and decorum. Go ahead, leftys, you stop denying my very fucking existence and then, then I will possibly maybe someday consider treating you with an excess of decorum. Until that point? Throat, meet boot, boot, meet throat.

With respect to Laura W, who I think made an excellent statement, I believe we're all finally waking up to the fact that they think we're evil, and we KNOW they're evil. Only evil people have to lie to support their beliefs. Only evil people seek to undermine and destroy the greatest culture that has ever been. Only evil people think it's OK to murder infants because they lack personhood.
These people are, more and more, revealing themselves to be Stalin lovers, and Mao wannabes. They're scum.

Weiner's privacy without criticizing Sen. Vitter.

Reading this has given me a new appreciation for the merits of Vogon poetry. Rumors that the manuscript was written on a typewriter that uses crayons cannot be dismissed out of hand. I gave it one star but should mention that that one star is in fact a black hole from which neither light nor interesting prose can escape.
on the plus side, the spelling errors were not egregious and the words did tend to make more sense when read from left to right. Think i'll ship my copy to Gitmo on the off-chance that a terrorist will write secret notes in it so that the Marines can burn it.

"Anyone got any suggestions on new definitions for Yglesias?"
Yglesias (noun): An eye condition caused by frequent contact with the intermixed semen of at least four men. This condition is often exascerbated when the recipient falls unconscious through the overdose of rave drugs, leaving the semen to dry overnight. Yglesias is treatable with high-end antibiotics and a pressure washer.

As the sidebar said last night, make it look "real" and/or keep it funny. Criticism/ridicule done with humor can be devastating (the Sasquatch one cracked me up). Build subtle memes (like someone above mentioned re: the nude photos), add some 2 star reviews.
Tonight I'm going to create a shell account and see what I can come up with. Time to get dirty.

When the Fluck bitch erupted I put on a news site the lefties were holding court on:
"Old and Busted: Keep Your Hands Off My Body!
New and Hottness: Keep Your Hands Off My Body (except when I want the government to tell others to pay for what I do with my body)!"
Then, some mangina was bragging about how he called Rush's sponsors and was "going to kick that pill popping hate monger off the air." To which I responded: "An apology is insufficient, the people want--nay, demand--a confession." I was going to put Proles or Proletariat but thought it'd be too up front. Either way, no further responses.
The reality is, they think they are winning and in control because everybody lets them. When someone pushes back it scares them and the get vicious. Because they know how weak they are and must have total control. It's like the StuckonStupid deal. He's playing very high stakes in that if the beat him, they will own the workplace.
Also, how's Carbonite's stock today?

"Anyone got any suggestions on new definitions for Yglesias?"
------------------
Yglesias: (adj.) 1) Doomed to fail (e.g., "My neighbor's attempt to boost gas mileage by drafting behind tractor trailers was an Yglesias idea."); 2) perceived by some to be of meaning or consequence, but is in fact entirely meaningless and inconsequential; overrated (e.g., "At the close of the previous millenium, many people were worried that 'Y2K' would cause widespread failures in computer systems throughout the world and could lead to an electronic apocalypse. These fears proved to be Yglesias.")

As a researcher of "Bigfoots" (Sasquatchs in scientific terms), I must point out that Squatchs do NOT travel in herds, they are solitary beings that do not travel in groups, but when a family of Squatchs is on the move, it is a "pack".

She's about as Christian as Barry:
She has spoken publicly about her religious faith; she describes herself as a "non-judgmental, liberal Christian". According to The New York Times, when Chenoweth "assured her theater fans that she supports gay rights her Christian base was outraged; she was disinvited from performing at a Women of Faith conference in September 2005." To promote the album, she made an appearance on The 700 Club that upset some of her gay fans. She later said she thought that the "Pat Robertsons and Jerry Falwells of the world are scary" and that she regretted appearing on the show. She dated producer/writer Aaron Sorkin

Hmm... If Amazon IS deleting reviews, I'll just post mine here for posterity. That way it will always be out there in the ether, haunting Matt Yglesias like the memory of his credibility:
------
You will never read a more insightful and poignant memoir of acute mental illness (March 6, 2012)
Into a world where rent is too high; unemployment too pervasive; mortgages too underwater; "green" industries too laughable; the White House too corrupt; union goons too strung out on blow; and the stench of Occupy Wall Street and its satellite protests too overpowering; there emerges a man of such vision and conviction that he is happy to employ the catchphrase of a niche candidate from the New York gubernatorial election and make it his own. He strides purposefully through the smoking carcasses of countless strawmen, casting legitimacy to the wind and crying, "Fear not, good citizens! I bring you good tidings of great joy! For your government sugar daddy shall lay upon you heaps of wealth redistributed from millionaires who make more than $250,000 a year. Yea, there shall be a tofurkey in every stewpot, and arugula in every salad. You will not know the pain or the fear of self-determination, for the loving embrace of government cheese shall soak the will to live from your flabby, demanding bodies until you become little more than mindless drones. Yea, mindless drones who shall live happily in prescribed government housing, welcoming with dull-eyed celebration the annual increase in your chocolate ration! The rare holiday where you are permitted to use more than one square of toilet paper when you visit the john in the middle of the night, your path lit only by the flickering, unreliable CFL that dangles from your hall ceiling! YES, good people! See what this world has delivered to you and rejoice! I, MATT YGLESIAS, DECLARE IT, AND IT IS SO!"
It will break your heart as you read the insane screeds Yglesias scrawls across every page in red felt tip pen and blue crayon. "How oh how," you will wonder, "could such a delusional narcissist ever get published? Did the strait jacket not restrain him enough to keep his hands away from the keyboard? Where was the nursing staff to give him his medication or, failing that, a substantial dose of ketamine? This guy... Seriously, this guy is not healthy. Is this book even legal? Should I be reading this? Because I don't think I should be reading this. Isn't bestiality a crime in this country? Or is the criminality negated because the sheep was dead at the time?"
Your guess is as good as mine, friend. Your guess is as good as mine.
One star, because it's filled with unintelligible nonsense. And because the copy I bought off a homeless Gender Studies graduate on Broadway was smeared with feces. But mostly the unintelligible nonsense.

Don't have a 'Zon account, but I will gladly write reviews for those of you who do have one, but aren't feeling funny today (not that I'm necessarily funny...)
(5 Stars) This book was a jubilant romp from start-to-finish as Matt Yglesias invites us to explore an alternate universe eerily similar, yet still incredibly different from our own. One of the most compelling works of fiction I've read in quite some time.
And the included self-portraiture was resplendent. Those of you who complain about the photo-montage completely missed the purpose of this artful expression of the natural human form and the many ways with which passion can be expressed. Do you all shower in the dark, lest you scandalize yourselves with your own reflections in the mirror? Prudes, all of you."

I just went through all 285 reviews and rated a bunch of them. Anything that referenced bestiality, nude pictures, or was obviously written by a moron got a thumbs up. Anything review that gave it 4 or 5 star s(except the obviously satirical ones) got a thumbs down.
Like a dozen more 1 star reviews got added while I was reading them. Keep up the good work, fellow morons!

So, we're going to scream bloody murder whenever the left gets down in the mud and acts like immature thirteen year olds.
But when we do it, it's perfectly ok! In fact, it's GREAT when we do it!
Cluebat: If you raise the level of debate - and act like adults who had a clue - they won't be able to keep up.
In combat terms: If you're re-acting to the enemy, instead of acting on your own plans, you've already lost the initiative and you've lost the battle.

"Cluebat: If you raise the level of debate - and act like adults who had a clue -they won't be able to keep up. "
You're absolutely right. That's why Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are so ineffective at shaping any sort of narrative, no matter how hard they try. That's why Hermain Cain and Rick Perry are still in the race. That's why actual analysis of the candidates' merits trumped feelings of white guilt and reverse-raaaaacism in 2008.
That's why all of the best videos of Breitbart show him sitting patiently, hand raised, waiting for his turn to speak.
They are sniping at us from the bushes. And we are still standing in rank-and-file rows, waiting on them to fall in on their side of the field and start the battle. Shall we continue to wait, or shall we crack on and start shooting back on our own?

Absolutely wrong. The enemy has a vote. You have to react to him in order to win. You can't fight an insurgency like a conventional war. I know this from very personal experience. I appreciate wanting to take the high ground. But we cannot win doing this. You have to go after these people in the hardest, sharpest way possible. Make them get on their knees and beg us to stop. Then we can start talking about civil discourse.

Rule # 1 of conservative internet discourse - if Warren Bonesteel makes one of his highly-anticipated rare appearances from the Olympian heights to condemn you, then you can be certain you're absolutely, positively, unquestionably in the right.
Rule # 2 is that every time someone mentions the Dunning-Kruger effect, Warren gets a royalty as the first and longest-serving test subject.
