— Ace Male leggings -- "meggings" -- are now supposedly such a huge deal, sweeping both sides of the Atlantic, that you have to learn about it from the Internet.
When trendsetters speculated what would be the defining men's fashion movement to sweep New York this winter, few opted for the male legging. But "Megging", as the male legging is known, is now all the rage in sartorial circles. Celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Russell Brand and Lenny Kravitz have all been spotted wearing leggings, while fashion stores Uniqlo, Barneys and Nordstrom are selling tights for men.
...
Some New Yorkers, however, see the "megger" as an affront to masculinity. Gabriel Cru, 35, from the Bronx, said: "Men in tights? Get out of here. We don't do men in tights in New York. That's European!"
Unless you're fronting Van Halen, I don't think "meggings" are going to attract the ladies.

Suck it weft cut loop! But seriously folks, not that men's fashion isn't of paramount important, especially from the peds that run that industry, but repost from last thread. fiscal cliff is a joke, zero should be very very worried:
REPOST
I don't know why Repubs are worried, they hold the cards here.
Zero has the most to lose by allowing the cliff to happen. Trust me.
Combine that with stupid fucking obamacare, and it will be an epic disaster.

This kind of thing does kind of make me wonder how those big sartorial shifts happened. You look at, say, the 1920's, and the suits are recognizable, but t-shirts were considered underwear. Victorian-era suits look like earlier versions of 20th Century suits. The further you go back you can peg an era by the styles. Whereas people in the 90's wore basically what we wear now.
I assume that introduction of TV/movies slowed down the rate of change, but they can also popularize something rapidly.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I want to wear a purple toga. Is that so wrong?

This kind of brings up the very first time I ever visited AoSHQ back before the Matrix underwent any of its 7 iterations. I was on Michelle Malkin's site and she had linked to Ace for a wicked post he wrote. I clicked over, read the post, liked what I saw and proceeded to look over the rest of his blog.
One of the posts was about "Manties", the panties made for men. Ace was teasing someone about ever finding or clicking on that link in the first place. "What? That URL just typed itself into your browser? Uh huh!"
Unfortunately, manties still exist. I dare you to google it and click.

And not that anyone cares what I think is hot, but the tights/codpiece/pointy shoes look has potential to look hot in the following scenarios: performing Shakespeare on stage, jousting, and dressing as a troubador to woo me with songs of love and devotion outside my window on a soft spring night.

Alex, haven't you said that you are not known for your verticalness?I also, have to be careful about clothes, so as not to be accused of wearing "my Dad's coat". If I wore a cape, I'd be a taller version of Gimli the dwarf. Well, maybe not "that" short, but let's just say that I never had a problem working in the mine.

The introduction of meggings makes me sometimes think that sharia wouldn't be a bad idea.

Pajama pants.
No, not sweats, but what appear to be actual print pajamas. In public. Worn by adults. On purpose.
It's a damned travesty that it's still illegal to punch them in the face.

They look kind of like tight sweat pants. I neither wear sweat pants, nor tight pants. But these things look plain slobbish... and feminine. Somehow, they managed to make them look like something a gay fat plumber would wear around the house with pizza sauce stains all over it. It's the worst of all possible worlds.
And seriously - seriously - maybe some of you don't have that problem but where I do put my junk? My shirt isn't going to cover that up unless I start wearing really long shirts (basically - summer dresses) too. I'd be flopping and dangling all over the place.
And all the women would have to be forced to wear burkahs in public, because of the public health & safety issue presented by unrestrained boners hitting people in the eye.

See what happens when a society is no longer allows poor fashion choices to be punishable through repeated applications of a claw hammer to the designer's skull?
You get meggings.
I hope you're happy about that, Society.

It isn't even that. If you look hard enough you'll find a clothing company desperately looking to expand its market. These type of stories always trace back to that.

If dudes start wearing meggings, I'm just going to walk around in longjohns all winter.

Well yeah....that's the bottom line. This stuff is publicity straight up.

I don't think the target market for "meggings" wants to.

Whenever someone says "nobody cares what someone else wears", what they're telling you is "they're laughing WITH me, not AT me" and "they giggle, point, and laugh because they don't appreciate that I'm different, not that I look like Hipster the Clown"

Personally, I prefer the Curly model. It's roomier than the Moe and Larry models.
Sorry, in this economy we can only afford the Curly-Joe model for the *ahem* huskier fellow.

We roam around the forest looking for fights.
We're men, we're men in tights.
We rob from the rich and give to the poor, that's right!
We may look like sissies, but watch what you say or else we'll put out your lights!
We're men, we're men in tights,
Always on guard defending the people's rights.

I think that was a picture of Dita Von Teese. A name well worth googling if you have some time on your hands, IYKWIM.
