— Ace As I do a lot, I'm taking a lot from @benk84's early headlines post.
2.7% Obama lead in Michigan, 47.7% to 45%.
The Obama campaign Tuesday announced its first network TV ads will begin airing this week in Michigan. Neither candidate had bought airtime here, but earlier Tuesday, Romney's super PAC launched a $2.2 million advertising final blitz in Michigan. That brings Restore Our Future's investment in Michigan post-primary up to nearly $10 million, according to the PAC — which until now had been unanswered by the Obama campaign.
By the way, I just read an article -- not sure which; I closed it -- noting that Romney had plenty of money to spend and couldn't really spend it all by election day if he just concentrated on the swing states. So if you're worried that this is wasted money, well, thanks to those who donated to Romney (you know who you are, clap yourselves on the back) he's really not forced into difficult decisions. He can spend in Ohio and play in some speculative states too.
This is problematic for Romney:
lso new in this poll, Romney now has a more favorable impression than unfavorable among likely voters at 44.7 percent favorable. Obama's favorable rating is 47.8 percent.
If you assume (again, as I'm doing lately) that your favorable rating represents your upper bound of support, then Romney needs to move his favorable up to 51% or so.
Which he can do. He does have some positive ads which test well. That ad of him just addressing the camera is rated highly by undecided voters. Plus, there's that heart-string pulling ad about him helping the dying boy write his will. And all those ads cut from his great moments at the debates.
Romney does have an advantage here that Obama doesn't: After four years of campaigning, mixed in with golf, and an occasional foray into governance, Obama is very well known to people and his numbers are mostly inelastic. Romney's image has more elasticity, more upside. It can be more readily changed than Obama's.
And, as usual, Romney is tantalizingly close in Pennsylvania. Still behind, but just close enough to get hopes up. 49-45, within margin of error.

What I want to know is, what happens to his debt if he loses the election? Is his campaign just going to write it off and screw the lenders? That would be "ironic".

PA is more winnable than Ohio. They have a higher unemployment, Obama has attacked the coal industry and he's trying to stop fracking. Ohio has been bought off by Obamaphones, payoff to the Unions, welfare and food stamps. They are a Marxist Blue state now.
PA is Romney's for the taking.

O//T But goes to show the absolute insanity in liberal academia
Yesterday, my son's history professor started the class lamenting that she could not share her political views with the class. She then launched a power point slide show on Greece's history and policies. "Coincidentally", the last slide was a picture of Hitler, Ghadaffi, and Bill O'Reilly.
He confronted her after class and asked her to apologize to the entire class.
We'll see what happens on Friday.

First of all, its not an either-or situation. As above, Romney can play for both.
I can't see Romney winning PA without *also* winning OH. PA just sits to the political left of OH.
EG, in '08 Obama took Ohio by 4.6 points, but he took PA by over ten points, and that's a significant difference.

I know a way in which Obastard's favorability would become very elastic to the downside: release the emails, the video and the audio from Benghazi.
Which is why it won't happen. Which is why people should not vote for him just to face impeachment early next year.

Assuming the lead further narrows AND Romney has the best GOTV ever, this could be close enough to come down to the wire, but I'm still not optimistic here.
Good news, is that Romney doesn't "need" PA, though as mentioned above, if he gets it, that's like rubbing Obama's nose in it.

According to one analysis I heard on local radio -if Romney carries Bucks and Chesco, he doesn't even need to break even in Delco and Montco, just come close enough to even...if Western PA and NEPA break for him in big enough numbers. Which I believe those areas will, populated as they are by bitter clingers and folks dependent on energy industry.

I "get" that Obama has spend more energy and money in Oh than anywhere else, but I'm not sure exactly how one "buys off" 8.5 million Ohio voters.
This is getting a little anecdotal, but one of my co-workers friends lives in Dem-stronghold Ohio, and he said that in '08, all you could see were Obama signs everywhere. Now? Just Romney. . .no Obama.
That's weak, I admit, but I would NOT write off Ohio as Marxist, or bought and paid for, etc.

#82 I will be plain shocked if Romney does not win Bucks County. I don't have a ton of friends, and I personally know 10 people who voted for Obama in 2008 that are voting Romney this time. The Romney signs in my area of Bucks are overwhelming compared to McCain and Bush in 2004. There are three GOP Victory Centers in Bucks; there was only one in 2004 and 2008 at the county HQ in Doylestown, which is small and hard to find.
People here really think Obama is a SCOAMF and they really like Romney. I wish Romney or Ryan had come here just once, but really they don't need to. This is one of the few areas that I think is actually voting heavily FOR Mitt Romney and not just AGAINST Obama.
Obama is running the abortion ad on Philly TV, obviously trying to peel away the women in the suburbs. I think it's a day late and a million dollars short though.

As Ed over at Hotair notes....that if 2012 is more like 2008 Obama is in trouble and if 2010 Obama loses, so please Ace when you put up polls put it all up there...A 13 Plus Dem sample that gives Obama a Plus 4....is HORRIBLE! Anyone want to wager Obama has Plus 13 Dem in PA this year? In 2010 Toomey won....you have GOP Gov and the GOP took both State Houses....so again Ace...what about that 4 point lead with a Plus 13 Dem Sample? Give the readers the whole story please. Mitt is doing great in PA.

Exactly. WI. has elected a Rep. Governor... twice in 2 years if you count the recall, the VP candidate is one of theirs and their State legislature is Rep. So they're gonna vote obama back in? I don't think so...

Now would ol' Journolist be starting a new business if Romney wasn't going to win?
Stay strong Ace, et al. Things are going to get intense up to the end and after as the Chicago tug and thugs will try to jam up the results with litigation.

Pennsylvania seems like a real possibility. The Republican vote ALWAYS outperforms the registration numbers.
Iowa is ours
Ohio is ours. (Ignore Quinnipiac and PPP)
Wisconsin is an excellent pick-up chance.
Colorado is a true swing state
I haven't seen much polling from New Hampshire.
I've been disappointed by Nevada. C'mon your state is 30% Mormon!

Lilith is, in Jewish tradition, Adam's first wife. But apparently she did not like the deal in the Garden of Eden and split. When G_d sent three angels to ask her back, she refused. And thence she became the mother of all night terrors who prey on humans. Which includes vampyres, succubi, and inccubi.
Succubi are night spirits who prey on human males, draining them in their dreams. They appear very alluring and lust inducing. Inccubi, think night spirits looking like the hottest piece of beefcake ever, doing the same thing to women.

Oh, and try cranking up Neil Diamond's song, 'Holly Holy" on the head phones. Nice tune and one I'll be playing next Tuesday. The track was in the aforementioned movie, which I should mention is named, 'Here Comes The Boom.'

Wayne County (Detroit) will naturally go heavily Obama.
Oakland County (Romney's home county) will go heavily Mitt.
Macomb County (the only county that matters) will break for Mitt, as there is little enthusiasm for Obama now. What used to be a sea of Obama yard signs in 2008 is now just a smattering.
Outstate will be heavily Mitt overcoming the liberal pockets of Ann Arbor and Lansing.
Michigan is in the bag.

Byron York just tweeted that the new Pew poll shows Romney leads early voters 50-43; in 2008 at this time Obama led 53-34. Same % of voters voted early in both elections - 19%. This really is good news for Romney, a 16-point turnaround from 2008.

Lame duck presdents can be MEAN and vengeful.
He could slow the payments, get his taxes audited and all for what?
Because he wouldn't take a walk down the beach?
I hate Obama with a white hot hate yet if I knew I could help others by glad handing him and having a few picture took, then I'd do it in a flash.
I wouldn't even bad mouth him on the side.
However, I wouldn't endorse him and I wouldn't vote for him.
And as soon as that money was safely taken care of, I'd be relating every detail of how they kissed up to me to get the photo op and what they were willing to do for it.
I think chris is doing that.

Michigan is Chinatown; forget about it.
Romney wins without Ohio if he wins Wisconsin. (This is because he will win Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado, and New Hampshire.)
And if Romney wins Ohio, it just means he wins with over 300 electoral.

I am contrarian on this Chris Christie stuff.
Remember, Christie has been LOUDLY campaigning with and for Mitt Romney, and very recently.
If Christie gets praise today from the national media, and independent voters around the country see him on CNN tonight, they will view him very favorably, as an example of someone who is putting politics aside when there is an emergency. Now I ask you, who will that help? The guy Christie has been campaigning against? Or the guy Christie is campaigning FOR?
It's gonna help ROMNEY. With the added bonus that it will help Christie get reelected next year
