Well, it's because those deer crossing areas are always such high-traffic areas. They're having to move where there's less traffic.

Best recipe for duck:
1.Procure a duck of some sort, preferibly prior to the beginning of putrification, as that makes it worse.
2. Procure a clean, green, freshly hewn white oak plank, large enough to hold the duck securely.
3. Apply fire to duck and plank.
4. Throw the duck in your shitty neighbors front yard and eat the plank.

If you shoot the wrong bird you could be looking at jail time, a big fine, and the loss of your gun(s).
But when I find them on a menu it's likely that is what I will order.

When my daughters were little, they had gone to a swimming pond and caught a tiny frog that they kept in a jar. I told them that we couldn't take care of the frog and that we should release it to the wild. We took it to a nearby pond and released it. Seconds later a fish swallowed it as it swam across the pond. They will probably be telling a psychiatrist about that in the future.

Why yes, I do.
If kept indoors where they belong, cats are fine pets. Outdoors they are a feral invasive species that pose a threat to native game and wildlife.
If it comes between a choice of having an adult grouse, pheasant and duck on my table, or giving your cat a few minutes of amusement when they indiscriminately kill them as babies, your cat loses.

50 My experience tells my that all those who claim to know how to cook duck are lying.
There's a big difference between wild duck and farm-raised duck.
With a wild bird, the texture is going to be tougher...as well as having a 'wild' flavor.
I use chopped apples to stuff wild ducks and other game birds with.
Using fruit as a stuffing helps to take the gamey taste out.
And also slow cook, covered, for a while longer than I would with a farm-raised bird.

You're doing it right.
My Mom would cook wild duck we shot with apples and sometimes a couple strips of bacon on top for the extra fat. It was excellent.
Where we hunted there was a lot of soybean, corn, and wild rice available. This made for wild duck that wasn't terribly gamey.

If you are a mean kid, you can have a lot of fun with chickens. Get yer fishin' pole and a kernal of corn. Drill a small hole through the kernal of corn, tie the monofiliment to it and toss it among the chickens. When one grabs it and wolfs it down, wait a few seconds and jerk it back out. The chicken will squawk and raise hell, then run right back and eat it again. You can do this for hours, or until your Grandmother catches you.

Yep, bacon on top is always a good way to keep the breast from getting too brown.
Duck is also good with the taste of oranges...so sometimes I add orange cubes to the apple-stuffing.
And then put some orange slices around on top of the bird, while cooking it covered...but remove those and add bacon slices for the browning during the final stage.

Yeah- I quit WoW cold turkey some time ago after a work schedule change, and haven't been back despite a couple of pleas to return. It was getting to the point were I felt obligated to raid 3-4 nights a week, sometimes pressured for more.
When a game feels too much like a job- complete with schedule- it's time to quit or at least take a break.

Hey Hollowpoint, screw you, my Schmoo loves to go outside once in awhile, usually in the evening when I come home from work, but she does go outside, mostly lays on the deck sunning herself. Apparently isn't interested in catching anything. My other two are indoor kittehs though. I like knowing where they are, they're not as smart as the Schmoo is.
