— Guest Blogger Now that we've all been caught lying about the incendiary class warfare of Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama, it's about time the non-Cherokee Harvard professor set us all straight. Appearing with the non-partisan newsman Al Sharpton on MSNBC last night, Warren let America know she really, really likes small businesses because some of her non-Native American relatives themselves have started up their own.
SHARPTON: Now, how do you respond to this new ad from Senator Brown?Apparently Aunt Alice's restaurant was in violation of child labor laws, if we're to believe Warren.WARREN: You know, this is just one more attempt to not talk about the central issues. But the way I look at this: I love little businesses. My daughter started a small business, my brother started a small business, my Aunt Alice started a small business--I worked in it when I was a teenager.
She started waiting tables at 13 at her Aunt AliceÂ’s Mexican restaurant.I notice her bio page doesn't claim credit for creating the intellectual foundation for the Occupy Wall Street anarchists.
Meanwhile, Obama was out in the Bay Area at a series of lavish fundraisers, including one attended by some Solyndra honchos.
And the GOP is loving the sight of Westly at the Obama fundraiser. Also spotted was Matt Rogers, an ex-Department of Energy adviser, who helped approve SolyndraÂ’s loan.So after spending $100 million distorting Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital, Obama whined about Romney distorting his attack on small businesses. No sooner were the lemons in the air than the Republican National Commitee had made lemonade out of it:
“Looks like some of the central characters in the Solyndra scandal and other green energy controversies gave up even more money for the Obama campaign tonight,” quips Matt Connelly of the RNC. “And is there any more fitting metaphor for the failures of Obama’s green energy program than one of them juggling lemons?”
Ouch.
"Knowingly twisting my words to suggest I don't value small business. In politics, we all tolerate a certain amount of spin. I understand those are the games that get played in political campaigns. Although, when folks like omit entire sentences of what you said, they start kind of splicing and dicing, you may have gone a little over the edge there.”Obama's speech in Roanoke doesn't need to be distorted in any way. His ugly class warfare was plain for all to see. But now he's worried his "vision" is distorted. As to that:
A stimulus bill equivalent to 1,567 Golden Gate bridges. A 2011 federal budget equivalent to 6,788 Golden Gate bridges. And yet we don't have a single one.The words of Obama and Warren will justifiably haunt them the rest of this campaign cycle. Any pathetic attempt to tell voters they didn't see what they saw should be met with only derision and mockery.Because that's not what Big Government does: Money-no-object government spends more and more money for less and less objects. For all the American economy has to show for it, President Bob the Builder took just shy of a trillion dollars in stimulus, stuck it in his wheelbarrow, pushed it halfway across the Golden Gate Bridge, and tossed it into the Pacific.
Instead of roads and bridges, Obama-sized government funds stasis and sclerosis: The Hoover Dam of regulatory obstruction, the Golden Gateway to dependency. Last month, 80,000 Americans signed on to new jobs, but 85,000 Americans signed on for Social Security disability checks. Most of these people are not "disabled" as that term is generally understood. Rather, it's the U.S. economy that's disabled, and thus Obama incentivizes dependency.

Elizabeth Warren is anything you want her to be. And anything she decides she wants to be.
Indian, Mexican, Oppressed feminist academic, a floor wax, a desert topping, a guest on Al Sharpton's propaganda-fest.
She's a politician. The very model of the modern politician.
And those oh so very smaht people in Massachusetts will probably elect her as a Senator. Massachusetts must have some of the very dumbest rubes in the country. And they make fun of other people. They elected that crooked lying dirt-bag Kennedy again and again, elected Deval Patrick, and will probably elect this lying imbecile. Because they are oh so very smaht.

A couple of names that should be famous (for rape) after a judge ordered that the victim not to discus the crime or face 180 days in jail for naming her rapists.
The rapists are two students attending Trinity High School, a Catholic college-prep school in a part of Louisville called St Matthews. Their names are Austin Zehnder and Will Frey. Both play for the Trinity Shamrocks lacrosse team.

Yeah, because the economy is not the central issue to pretty much everyone right now.
You know, just once I would like to hear a reporter follow up with "Okay, what are the central issues" just to put whomever it is on record as blathering about everything else.
The Romney "hands" commercial was on tv here last night and it really is well done.

How many, Lizzie, how many of those houses you helped yourself to during foreclosure--so you could make a hefty profit--how many were small business owners who had taken out a second mortgage on their business and lost it all because they couldn't keep up with the regulations and burdens of your type of government?
How many times, Lizzie, how many times have you profited off of the misfortune and hardship of small business owners?
Love 'em? I bet you do love them. You love it when you can swoop in and take their house for pennies on the dollar.

I have added it to my mental list of places I see on Triple D that I want to try if I ever find myself in that city. Done.
While I've never gone to a place that claimed to be a Mexican restaraunt outside of TX, I've learned enough from other "expectations" in food from my occassional travels.
Ordered a spicy shrimp pasta dish at a Seattle restaraunt first time I was there. I was in a pretty macho mood, so I asked the waiter, "How spicy are you talking?" He assured me it was quite hot. I told him not to let the chef pull any punches.
It was the same level of "spicy" that you or I would rate the salsa at El Chico.

Geography. Tex Mex is Mex in Tex. Many Californians will say the Tex-Mex does not qualify as Mexican food as Cal-Mex (not an actual common term used) is. Some refer to Tex-Mex as crappy Mexican food. Tex-Mex could be defined as (Northern) Mexican street food served on a plate with stuff poured over it. Many Texans consider Tex-Mex the only authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico while others consider it the only authentic Mexican food anywhere.

Rule of thumb: the closer you are to the Mexican border, the hotter the food gets. In New Braunfels, I wouldn't order anything over a 3. And then I might want a glass of milk.
I was in El Paso at a Mexican place once, and made the mistake of not asking if their green sauce was green chile or tomatillo. Ouch.

Can normal people use them to get a tan, at least?
(I went in the sun on Sunday and I could barely get dressed for work this morning, my shoulders hurt so bad. Everyone who uses the phrase "white privilege" in a non-ironic fashion should get their skin deep-fried. Rant off.)

"As a stone ass white boy originally from the east coast, I am not sure of the distinction between tex mex and mex
If its got yellow cheese on it - tex mex"
Lulz. Good call.
Does it have more beef in it than rice and/or beans? Tex-Mex.
What kind of tortilla is used?
Corn - probably Mex
Flour - probably Tex-Mex. But not always.
Does the name of the food have part of a Spanish word that means "big," "great in number," or "awesome?" - You're starting to wander so far off-course that you may no longer even be in TexMexistan.

@143
I don't understand who enjoys food so hot that there is no flavor. Besides old people, whose taste buds are so shot they just want to experience *something* when they eat.
Plus, I don't like having to wipe my ass with a scoop of ice cream to ameliorate the discomfort of shitting napalm.

Many Texans consider Tex-Mex the only authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico while others consider it the only authentic Mexican food anywhere.

Ha. Sauce you could probably use to break out of prison with!
In my defense, the place at NB looked "touristy" enough that I assumed it was going to be pretty mild. Plus I was with a lady I wanted to impress with my extreme machismo. So despite the watery eyes, hiccups, and internal agony, I choked down my meal. And then sat silently through dessert with almost the entire scoop of cinnamon ice cream sitting in my mouth.

I'm near Toronto, so the lunch room usually looks like the fucking cantina at Mos Eisley, anyway. The unholy smells coming from the microwave as they heat up their chicken beaks and rice with paint thinner sauce is guaranteed to put you off your feed.
But nausea is slimming, so there's that.

Speaking of tan, I've seen a couple of pics of Barkah lately, and he seems to be visibly darker. Must be all the Summer Golf.
Or he's fake-tanning, so his minions can accuse Romney of intentionally darkening Barry's skin in attack ads.

Exactly quoting a politician is now wrong? OK. But: The context is worse than the quote. Pay attention to the parts about how there are lots of people who work hard and lots of smart people. It's all a poorly reasoned conclusion that successful business owners somehow succeeded through unfairness. And the unfairness is that they used resources for which we all paid. Which unfairness he means to remedy through additional levies, taxes and fees. This notion, that if you've ever received any help from any person or entity (even if you paid for it) then you are forever indebted to such is so wrong--there is no logical endpoint to the mischief, misery and servitude under such a scheme. No good end to the "I helped you once so now and forever you owe me and must do as I say."
It's not freedom.
We have another word for the condition where a man is never free of his obligation to another.

EOJ - I agree. Heat for the sake of heat is pointless. First thing that comes to mind are these stupid "flamin' hot Cheetos." There is no cheese flavor that I can detect. Only the "flavor" of caspaicin. If I wanted that, I'd spritz my tongue with pepper-spray.
Heat with flavor is fantastic.
And heat with an inflated sense of invincibility is hilarious.
