— Ace Uh-huh.
Reich-Wingers Helen Thomas and Sam Donaldson would never interrupt a white president.
The Daily Caller defends the question.
Neil Munro, White House Correspondent: “I always go to the White House prepared with questions for our president. I timed the question believing the president was closing his remarks, because naturally I have no intention of interrupting the President of the United States. I know he rarely takes questions before walking away from the podium. When I asked the question as he finished his speech, he turned his back on the many reporters, and walked away while I and at least one other reporter asked questions.”Tucker Carlson, Editor-in-Chief: “I don’t remember Diane Sawyer scolding her colleague Sam Donaldson for heckling President Reagan. And she shouldn’t have. A reporter’s job is to ask questions and get answers. Our job is to find out what the federal government is up to. Politicians often don’t want to tell us. A good reporter gets the story. We’re proud of Neil Munro.”
Poison: An argument that Obama's power-grab short-circuits any kind of real solution.

1. Filibustering speech.
2. 1-2 questions from friendly reporters (you'll note he often has a long introduction like noting their birthday or something).
3. Filibustering "answers".
4. Leave because of a lack of time.
I also like how it showed the teleprompter dependency when Obama went back to the speech. The whole thing suddenly seemed a lot less genuine.

Obama HATES pressers. He doesn't like having to answer questions, especially without the security blanket of TOTUS. His is the most transparently opaque administration in history, and I'm not exaggerating.
Folks have made the assumption that he stormed off because he was peeved about being interrupted. I think he'd never planned on taking questions to begin with. I'm sure he'd PLANNED to walk away with a chin-in-the-air appearance of dignity. Instead, he got his knickers in a twist and stormed off like a petulant child.

Weren't we told earlier in the year that Mexicans are leaving the U.S. in mass and returning to Mexico because the opportunities for jobs and the economy there are better than here? South Park did a great episode about that--how the border patrol were trying to keep the illegals from fleeing the U.S. So why is His Royal Amnesty pandering to people who aren't even here? Oh, but it isn't political, and those who say it is are racist!

It will go from changing student loan interest rates to abolishing their debt all together. I do disagree with a lot of people here that this is not a winning issue, a lot of Republicans in the west and southwest will have to battle it out, and if Hispanics end up on the democrat side that's ballgame.

There are certainly at least two alternatives available to those who think presidential elections are about satifying THEM.
1. Waste a vote on some fringe candidate.
2. Join the irrelevant 35% of the electorate that never votes.
What's funny is that these people will insist that no one is more conservative than they, but in the same breath decry the fact that a presidential candidate (who has to attract 135 million votes to win) isn't as conservative as they. It's called delusion.

The main problem with this is that ALL illegal aliens under 30 are going to get work visas, not just the kids of Aliens. There is no way they could know that or enforce it, plus they don't want to enforce it so it was basically amnesty for every illegal under 30.

The proper line of attack is to couple his actions not to leadership but to narcissism -- that it's a calculated political act of self-preservation.
So:
"President Obama has failed to lead for the xxx days he's been in office on the economy, on creating jobs for the middle class. The democratic Senate, his party, has not produced or voted on a budget for this country in over a thousand days. 1000 days of no leadership from this president over his own party.
Now, with 150 days to go until his reelection, with his interests at stake, the president has decided it's time to unilaterally act without regard to the rules and the role of Congress where republicans such as Senator Rubio of Florida have been working on such a plan.
Leadership is about making the tough choices, of leading when nobody is watching, when it's in the interest of not just yourself, but the nation.
Blah, blah..."

"Naturally, Martinez has some suggestions. First, Republicans should remind Latinos that Obama pledged to pass comprehensive immigration reform by the end of his initial year in office, but “didn’t even have the courage to try.” Next, the GOP should outflank the president — on the left — by proposing its own comprehensive plan. “I absolutely advocate for comprehensive immigration reform,” Martinez says, sipping a caramel macchiato. “Republicans want to be tough and say, ‘Illegals, you’re gone.’ But the answer is a lot more complex than that.” Martinez envisions an approach “with multiple levels”: increased border security; deportation for criminals; a guest-worker program for people who want “to go freely back and forth across the border to work”; a DREAM Act-style pathway to citizenship, through the military or college, for children brought here illegally by their parents; and a visa (coupled with a “penalty” or a “tagback”) that allows the rest of the illegal population to remain in the U.S. while they follow standard naturalization procedures."

"I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter on a long term basis so they know what their future will be in this country. I think the action that the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that longterm solution because an executive order is, of course, just a short term matter. It could be reversed by some president."
"I happen to agree with Marco Rubio. He said that this is an important matter. We have to find a long term solution but that the presidents action makes reaching a longterm solution more difficult. If I'm president we'll do our very best to have that kind of long term solution that provides certainty and clarity for the people who come into this country, through no fault of their own, by virtue of the action of their parents"

I love Cavuto, but he just waxed on and on, still waxing, in fact, about what an incredible father Obama is.

Look at my posting name and figure out if you need to tell me that.
I've been seeing him around since he was head of Health and Hospitals under LA Governor Mike Foster when he was a whiz kid in his 20s.

"Romney was asked if he would reverse Obama’s order if he was elected — and didn’t respond."
;;;;
Good, that's how gaffes happen. There is time to create a cogent response.

Uh oh. Things are not looking good for Bo.
" "A new study suggests that the Obama family's four legged companion is a political liability," Politico reports:
"In times of war or scandal, dogs are welcome public companions, but not so in periods of economic hardship," a George Washington University study of political pets find. . . .
"We surmise that diversionary pets are a political liability when their frolicking on the White House lawn in hard times might cue the public that not everyone in the country is suffering equally and that being president is not a full-time job," the study concludes."
And them there's Choomerino's culinary inclinations.

Will the campaign be called the Barack Obama "Puttin' On The Dog" Tour?

I want to remind everyone that Romney is not a true conservative, water is wet, and fleas will bite.
You are welcome.

Fatty mad:
Meghan McCain @McCainBlogette
Any politician or candidate should be allowed to finish their statement without being heckled by press. Ask questions when the time comes!
Meghan McCain @McCainBlogette
I don't care how you feel about the president, since when does the press heckle the president?!? The disrespect is astounding.

Meanwhile, as the DC reporter so aptly grasped, there are going to be problems with unemployed citizen's take on all of this.
Bottomline, this was an unforced mistake. This was desperation.

saw a clip of that, it was good, it was the right thing to do. Seems he saw ace's little discussion of civility here and implemented it there.

actually ole dylan, soon to be working elsewhere, ratigan on MSNBC seemed to think the administration somehow got wind of Rubio and the democrats introducing something on this. He alluded to the fact that it was a sort of pre emptive strike. He then went on to discuss the morality of this kind of political football.
