— Ace How wonderful for us all.
Nancy Pelosi announced Wednesday that she plans to seek another term as House Democratic leader, though Democrats were unable to win back control of the chamber.
...
"We don't have the gavel," she said. "We have something more important, we have unity."
She later said: "I wouldn't think of walking away."
There was a minor controversy earlier when someone dared to ask Pelosi, 143, if she was too old to connect with people who are younger than 100.
A lot of whining about "Age discrimination!" and some boos follow.
I don't really have a point besides my "143" joke.

Under Pelosi's leadership, the liberals first lost the House and then on their second round, were unable to take it back. We should be rejoicing that they are tripling down on stupidity, and reinforcing failure.
Meanwhile, the GOP needs to take the opposite tack, and needs to start TO BRUTALLY PURGE PROVEN LOSERS.
The entire NRSC should be sacked for a start, after their recent debacle.
Replace them with people who actually won Senatorial elections for the GOP last cycle. I'm thinking of Dean Heller's campaign manager, for one.

Barack Obama on Wednesday submitted to his first press conference since March. Some of the White House journalists didn't seem to hold the long wait against him, however. One reporter, Christie Parsons of the Chicago Tribune, turned into a gushing fan, congratulating the President on his reelection. Parsons cooed to Obama that she had "never" seen him "lose." Other questioners, including CNN's Jessica Yellin, exhorted the President to not "cave" when dealing with Republicans.
After calling on Parsons, Obama added, "Christi was there when I was running for state senate." With a big grin on her face, the Tribune reporter extolled, "That's right. I was!...I have never seen you lose." Yellin pushed the President from the left, demanding, "...Two years ago you said that you wouldn't extend the Bush era tax cuts, but at the end of the day, you did. So, respectfully sir, why should the American people and the Republicans believe that you won't cave again this time?"

It may be worth debating, but it's hardly surprising or newsworthy.
The Republicans kept the House; it would have been newsworthy if there had been any significant challenge to him.
The reason Pelosi remaining as Minority Leader is newsworthy is that, normally she would have been out of the House entirely after losing the House in 2010, that she not only wasn't out then, but then didn't manage to lead her caucus back into the majority- and still kept her position- is unusual.

I agree HP you see me being able to pull it off?
We need to decide whether to try to go over and kck the commies out pulling the donk rightward or nuke 'em and win, or dissolve the union....
I don't know the answer

"Or do we go after the Reagan Democrats?'
________________________________________
"Reagan Democrats" were largely blue collar factory workers who belonged to unions and their wives, who often had part-time jobs or hourly wage jobs. "Reagan Democrats" were also people in the service sector.
Witness Ohio's union vote this election. Witness the service sector union vote in Nevada. The Dems machine has been working hard for years on the remnants of the Reagan Democrats. They now have them.
Reagan also appealed to a religious segment of America that has experienced a preciptious fall the last 3 decades. (This is one reason, just one, that the GOP's dreams of getting the Hispanic vote--unless they nominate an Hispanic--is a pipe dream. Hispanics under 40 are not religious as many pundits would have you believe. They are culturally Catholic, and not much else.)
I think we need to understand that Reagan's demographic base is long, long gone. Using the term is kind of like saying a "JFK Democrat"--JFK Dems don't exist any more.

best case we could primary the commie bastards out of power and if we had selfless people excpose their bribery attempts by trumka...
I don't know what the answer is but I know there needs to be a seismic shift in America as rendered.

correct...I think their loss in the Civil war and rage based tribalism is why the dying off scoop jacksons never crossed....
It pisses me off were I 20 years older I'd have been a union donk probably and now they act like I'm a demon.

To be honest? Probably not.
The organizational structure of the Dems is very hierarchical and cliquey; it takes a long time to get anywhere in their ranks. Grassroots they ain't. They're not like the GOP where you need do little more than show up on a regular basis.
The Paultards wouldn't have been able to pull their shenanigans with the Dems like they did with the GOP in Nevada (for example).

The repubs have been the repository of the conservative movement for years without any move to a more conservative way of governing. They are, since the late 1980's the moderate to center left party. The leadership keeps being elected by the same states that give us hard-left dems also.
In other words, the dems infiltrated the repub party. Let's start returning the favor.

I'm extremely saddened and disappointed to see no mention of Min. Leader Pelosi's REAL name: - Granny Rictus McBotox-Implants.
This is why we lose elections, because we are disconnected from our glorious past.

Just so I have this straight- you find it necessary to ask why it's beneficial to have a Republican majority in the House instead of giving Obama a blank check?

Soona @ 200:
"....plan B is to infiltrate and wreck the democrats"
We can cleverly, and slyly convince them to abandon our ally's, embrace our enemies, double...no, TRIPLE our national debt, while printing money non-stop, lean further left than Stalin, destroy our military, gut our domestic energy production, ignite the flames of classist warfare in this country, and divide our nation along racial lines. Yeah!
When does all this start actually....you know....wrecking the democrats?

I do not think all democrats are insane.
We face three democrat parties.
1) the pro academic zealot wing-the most left and craziest.
2) the union wing-greedy as hell and willing to engage in economic warfare but oddly worried about personal liberty in the 1st and 2d amendment
3) the race hustlers.
There are schisms there to be exploited but we'll never do it from outside.

#87 - NRSC yes. Several easily winnable senate seats were lost this time. I'd give Rince another shot - he seems to have made good strides fixing up the RNC. Mitt's loss may have been due more to O's uniqueness and some errors by Mitt
#115 - MA GOP didn't vote for Mitt or Brown? That is ridiculous and even if thought a vote for Mitt didn't matter in MA a vote for Brown did

OMG, I am as liberal as they come, but I read your blog because I like it that you usually play it straight, no spin. But seriously, this comment made me LAUGH OUT LOUD for a good couple of moments. :-D
