NBC Confirming: FRC Gunman Carried Chick-Fil-A Swag
— Ace

Get in their faces.

The media coverage on this is going to be... nonexistent. Prepare to be outraged as never before as the media simply embargoes this, almost entirely.

Over at JWF, lefties already know what happened -- the guard shot himself to push his hateful agenda, or something.

47 "the guard shot himself to push his hateful agenda, or something." This is not a serious comment. It is sarcastic. The commenter is expressing unhappiness with the skepticism that reports of anti-gay hate crimes often receive (especially when they are difficult to believe because the details seem so similar to hoaxes). Nevermind that there was very recently a high-profile hoax (the gay goof who did a backflip or something and hit his head, and made up a story about gay-bashers). Hoaxes happen. Skepticism is often warranted, especially when the details of a reported hate crime are similar to details of confirmed hoaxes.

Yeah, read my first tweet on the thread. This is how the media will play this. They will claim that both sides are responsible.

When someone on the right commits an act of violence(which is rare), then it is the right's fault.

When someone on the left commits an act of violence, then it is the fault of both left and right for creating an environment which allows this to happen.

Hey, Barry -- can the homeless stay in your Chicago home pad at least while you're still in the White House?

68 "Shooting erupts at Family Research Council: 'He started yelling about things they supported and opened fire,'" from WND, August 15: A shooting at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the Family Research Council has left a security guard injured, according to officials. The organization that advocates for Christian values and standards was targeted this morning and police are investigating, according to a statement from FRC President Tony Perkins. “Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family,” he said. The group’s offices are in the 800 block of G Street NW, and police officials told reporters a suspect was in custody in the shooting. Fox News said, “A suspect walked in and started yelling about things they (FRC) supported and opened fire.” The organization, founded in 1983, works to forward faith, family and freedom issues in the forum of public policy. They work through research projects, educating those on Capitol Hill and reviews legislation. The FRC publishes books, provides experts to testify before Congress and has been active in revealing the pro-abortion and other agendas of the Obama administration. Lifenews reported that the attacker was a man posing as an intern....

90 Can we PLEASE give his lawyers the death penalty as well? A military judge ordered a hearing Wednesday for Maj. Nidal Hasan, where he must plead not guilty to the 13 counts of premeditated murder he currently faces in the 2009 attack. He is not allowed to plead guilty because the charges carry death as the maximum punishment and the government is pursuing the death penalty in Hasan's case. He also is charged with 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the attack at the Texas Army post. He is allowed to plead guilty to those charges but seems unlikely to do so "because there would be no benefit to him," said John Galligan, a civilian attorney who represented Hasan before leaving the defense team a year ago. Military prosecutors and defense attorneys are barred from discussing the case outside court. Hasan also would be allowed to plead guilty to lesser murder charges that do not carry the death penalty. But that scenario is highly unlikely because efforts to reach a plea deal failed more than a year ago, and plea agreements in such cases usually are not reached at the last minute, Galligan said. The military criminal justice system does not have a set time for a defendant to enter a plea; some do it the day of the trial. Prosecutors also are unlikely to agree to a plea deal now because "they've done all this work on the case that's the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11," said Jeff Addicott, director of the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary's University School of Law. He is not involved in the Hasan case. Prosecutors have a 265-person witness list for Hasan's trial, including a terrorism consultant who says the American-born Muslim meets several factors indicating he's a home-grown terrorist. The judge, Col. Gregory Gross, on Tuesday also refused defense attorneys' request to delay the start of the trial again and said it will begin with jury selection as scheduled Monday. He previously delayed the trial from March to June and then to August. Defense attorneys argued in their latest request that they had not been able to look through 26 boxes of documents, including thousands of pages of Hasan's medical records and jail logs — which prosecutors said they will not use during the trial. "I'm telling you unequivocally that if we go to trial on 20 August, we will without reservation be providing ineffective counsel for Major Hasan," defense attorney Maj. Joseph Marcee told the judge. Defense attorneys also have said they don't know exactly what evidence obtained under the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act will be presented by prosecutors at the trial. A federal judge in Waco, which has jurisdiction over the matter, has not yet ruled on the Army prosecutors' motion that asks if "certain electronic surveillance and physical searches" of Hasan were legal. The judge will suppress the evidence, as Hasan has requested, if the surveillance was not lawfully authorized or conducted, according to court documents.

102 24 Ben,

No Ben "both sides" do not.

I never engaged in "chicken of hatred" as an offensive weapon to deny an organization its rights to do business.

I never decided my cause was SPECIAL(tm) and decided the rules were different for me....

I never urged my allies and friends to use their political influence to try to get cities to use their governmental power to punish "other" thinking...

follow me?

After they did ALL that but mostly after the last point I did call them "fucking asshole fascists" because guess what?

My grandpa fought these assholes in Germany in ww2 they just had a different line of bullshit, a different list of enemies, and had not gone as far....

You are watching the training wheels for Kristalnacht and the President will NOT order them to stand down.

No, rather than tell his former Chief of Staff at once :what the hell this is America" privately or openly it takes a week almost for the mayors to calm the hell down.

People that believe in Liberty do what is required and go eat a goddamned sandwich from "the person who is marked" and the newset brand of fascist decide "you won't winnerz h8erz Izza go starbucks"....

well guess what so did I to get a spiced cider...if starbucks lobbies to have mayors act like Nazis I will never go again....

get it?

so no I won't "stand down" I'll reload because somehow every time these little would be "lightworkers" get power and get inspired folks die.

matter of fact it seldom fails....

Van Jones is a communist.

I know who they are.

I know that is why I was shocked....

like I said I was watching the idiot facebook nation both praising the guy for "showing them" and pretending it is a conspiracy to portray them in a bad light.

What the hell is wrong with the middle.

The media has them convinced after a 12 year media Jihad maybe even 18 if you count '96 that I am a structurally flawed diabolical rage machine because I believe in equality not "equality PLUS".....

there are adults who have been brainwashed by the press that I am a monster because of my party affiliation that cannot be dissuaded.

I am a fairly brave guy at times.

I once put out a brush fire that was gonna burn down a house, I did CPR on a baby, I have helped do first aid at an accident scene, I was shot at in my projects along with younger kids on a playground and shuffled them to safety because a drug buy had gone wrong...

I went though MOUT at Ft Benning I never was BRAVE in my only contract in the army, but I got hit by a forklift and kept working at an airport...I've had and broken up some brawls...

I am scared sometimes by these people, because God help me I don't want have to hurt some screwed up deluded kid who is a fascist because the NEA thought it'd be cute to whip out little activists.

Sorry....

Today MSM featured the latest threat from the New Black Panthers to stomp on conservatives' blankety-blank throats.

So is this shooter a Black Panther for Obama?

Remember; One day at the range, you can teach someone to shoot a gun accurately enough to be dangerous. It takes years to brain wash them to hate your opponents enough to actually kill. The hard work of the extremists has already been done.

193 183 - I'm slowly coming to realize that this is coming.  I recently had someone I considered a friend tell me to "get out of their f-ing sight" when they found out I wasn't voting for Obama.  We did not usually talk politics and it was like she changed into this foaming at the mouth monster.  She looked at me like I was evil.  It shook me up.  I don't trust the left anymore.  They view us as the enemy.  No pretending anymore.

198 Monday's TX shooter story was broadcast by the independent local news (not syndicated) as a Constable being shot dead by a resident while serving papers. Responding officers shot and killed the murderer.

That the insane shooter lived a block from Texas A+M campus had nothing to do with the school faculty, staff or student body.

But that didn't stop it from playing repeatedly throughout Texas as the New York City "reporters" fabricated.

Connection to the Neo-nazi's and the like doesn't give them the ability to make ambigous comments to connect it to conservatives.  Most people hold those off in their own different category away from politcal ties, no matter how often the media attempts to connect them otherwise.  So "Neo-Nazi murders minorities and its Sarah Palin's fault" just isn't going to fly and they know it.

Because the victims wore turbans and that image is not what the Obama campaign wants to be associated with infront of bitter clinger voters.

Have you forgotten how they removed people from behind obama when he was speaking who wore turbans or headscarves?

Don't worry though, after the election Obama is going to visit them.

203 I know the feeling, Stella.

Living in the SF Bay Area, most of my friends and colleagues are very left-wing.  It's hard to find the right balance between sticking up for yourself and just letting it roll off your back.  All I can say is, always always be cheery about it.

Filly:
>> You know how I vote, is this what you think of me?

Yeah, really.  I see good people I know say such wicked things about "Republicans".  But of course they don't mean me.  What can ya do?  They're immersed in a hateful climate, and they know not what they do.

205 @195 Liberals can't tolerate disagreement. The media has screamed at conservatives for so long it's trained the hapless to do the same. The scariest thing about this shooting is the undercurrent of 'they deserve it' coming from the left. You won't hear any prominent Democrat politician or pundit denounce it. Honestly, I hope to God I'm wrong about that last bit.

206   They've identified the FRC shooter as Floyd Corkins, 28 years old. So far, the information I've found on him says he lived in Herndon, VA, that he was an elementary school teacher at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington, and that he may have been in the Air Force at one time, and may have been stationed at Andrews AFB. He also apparently lived in Oklahoma City previously.

I won't give the address I found, just in case, but it appears that the total property value for his property in Herndon is $330,640.

He appears to be affiliated with George Mason University (probably a former student) and signed an online petition - http://www.petitiononline.com/petitions/gmutariq/signatures?page=2 - demanding that Tariq Khan be released. Tariq Khan was a GMU student and former Air Force member, who was arrested for leading a violent protest against military recruiting on campus (i.e. definitely left-leaner).
...
This may be his Facebook profile: http://www.facebook.com/Floyd.Jackie.corkins

I haven't seen any pictures released of the perp yet, but from his Facebook friends list, he is probably African-American.

207 Not that melanin content is relevant but since it came up I though I should share the fact that FNC showed a picture of someone in cuffs being led away that looked like he might be 6'3" and 250# but appeared to be white. I cannot find the shot anywhere else and FNC has not replayed it yet so this is not conclusive.

208 Filly - It's cognitive dissonance taken to the extreme, I suppose.  I don't mind if people disagree with me, but the group think is hard to take.  I've actually asked some of them "What did the Chick-fil-a CEO actually SAY?"  and many can't even answer because they don't actually know.
I'm not a snob and don't mind being friends with someone who has a different opinion than me, but it's hard to be friends with people who play the intellectual superiority card while being so dang dumb.

Posted by: Stella at August 15, 2012 12:43 PM (olczy)

209 @210 - THAT is what gets me as well. That they actually believe that they occupy the intellectual high ground while never noticing that all of their responses are in fact anti-intellectual in nature. There isn't anything to 'discuss' at that point, at least not in the adult sense of the word.
