New Prometheus Trailer
— rdbrewer

Open thread. Twice as open as the last two.

Update: This thread is so open, it makes Andy's open thread look closed.

This thread is more open than Sonny after Barzini's men met him at the tollbooth.

This thread is more open than a bottle of Wild Turkey at Andy's family reunion.

This thread is more open than a hippie on blotter acid at a Summer of Love be-in.

This thread is more open than McGinley's Pub on St. Paddy's Day. For those of you who can't see the player, here's a link.

Thanks to CDR M.

Added: Commenter "dfbaskwill" recommended this trailer.

Added: Plumbing tips.

6 Heh. At least it was two different people that double posted.

I'm still not quite sure how Ace does that to himself.

In any event, RD beat me by mere seconds, so let's just go with this one.

Question for the Morons and  'Ettes. Looks like "The Hunger Games" is going to be huge.

So is it based on just the first book, or all three?

I'm not clear on that.

54 HH Yeah, I read the books after my wife bought 'em on her Kindle. She said it was a fun read so I put them on my IPad. Even though it was obviously written for the "young adult" audience, I thoroughly enjoyed them. And, yeah. They need to make Katniss somewhat of a bitch and a reluctant heroine. If they screw that up, then it simply doesn't work. The trailer looks pretty good. We'll probably catch it after the first week when the teenybopper contingent slackens.

Posted by: Wyatt's Torch at March 17, 2012 02:01 PM (zxrQh)

55 Earth to Clarence!  Earth to Clarence!  The liberals find nothing wrong with pornography.  It's all just a private transaction between consenting adults.  Nothing for you to be defensive about.  It is a slippery slope.  The NAMBLA  argue that even youths (that's pronouced yoots)  are free to be butt-fucked by 60 year old men.  Which side of this debate are you on?  Who are you defending?

112 As a matter of fact Ip Man 2 and another version of Ip Man were both made in 2010. It's confusing. Ip Man (200 The Legend is Born: Ip Man (2010) Ip Man 2 (2010), the sequel to Ip Man

115 I bust a gut laughing while watching "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"  I told my dad to rent it.  He didn't think it was funny.

He clearly didn't travel much on company business.

118 Not a traditional St Paddy's Day beer But tried Dogfish ApriHops today. a heavily hopped beer brewed with apricots. The apricots heighten the flavor and smooth out the bitterness of the hops. Excellent Spring/March Madness smooth drinking beer. It's a limited release so get it before it's gone. I think I'll have another.

Don't forget about those GM bond holders with senior rights. they got screwed.

Posted by: Jimbo at March 17, 2012 06:29 PM (O3R/2)

And the next group of bond holders to take the Big Kahuna will be muni's issued from mid-sized cities.  Also, the deluded bond holder believing that the insurance proviso will protect their principal?  Not enough insurance in the world if the cascade of bankruptcies begins in earnest.

Northern Brewer

has apricot extract for this same effect.

My Rye IPA turner out to taste very similar to Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye.

Posted by: oic at March 17, 2012 06:14 PM (gS0Xa)

137 Looks like it is gonna be a slightly artsier version of the game that is sure to be released at the same time. I wonder how they are going to weave global warming into the plot?

Prometheus will at least bring some needed Sci Fi to the scene.  Hopefully it's worth the effort, let us simply face fact that the sequel always gets it right.

Aliens 2

Wrath of Khan

Empire Strikes Back

and so on.  If you can't get right by number 2, just tie a rope around your neck and spare movie goers the pain.
