— Gabriel Malor Outstanding Romney ad responding to Obama's attack on small businesses.
Great line in there I hadn't heard before: "President Obama attacks success, and therefore under Obama we have less success."
Updated: Promoting first comment from Golan Globus:
You know, those suggesting that Romney go on the offensive were just a bunch of ninnies.
Yup. It's as if they weren't paying attention to what Romney was doing at all.
Another Update: American Crossroads has this ad running on TV in typical battleground states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia. Oh, and in Michigan.

That's the first Romney ad where I've come away thinking, "Damn! This man is going to win this election, and he's going to win it going away."
I hope he beats the JEF like a snare drum and has hellaciously long coattails.

Romney did his own "Morning in America" ad that Ace posted a few weeks back. That one plus this one ought to see Romney win this like Reagan.
Unfortunately Soap and I agree that the electorate has changed from people who want to get out there and get after, it to a crowd of ninnies waiting for the government to do something. Hopefully they're still young and can be flipped back.

Yeah, that's really going to work out big-time while Bark Obama is saturating the TV channels with his lying "Romney is eeeeevil!11!!!!" ads.

Ask yourself this: What can Obama do or say that is going to somehow inflict damage on Romney? The answer is that there si nothing RIGHT NOW that Obama can exploit that he has not already tried.
Now ask yourself: What can Romney do or say that will inflict damage on Obama?
Well, Obama keeps saying stupid stuff. Every week. Romney jumps on these blunders, and quickly. Does anyone think this trend will not continue?
Also: do you believe that Obama is somehow going to make any significant progress in the next three months on solving any major problems? I sure don't. And I don't see those problems (especially the economy) fixing itself in that time frame, either. It is much more likely that those problems worsen.
I also believe that Romney can improve his favorability ratings as more people start paying attention to the race.
So the race is Romney's to lose. He can lose it by making a huge blunder, most likely during a debate. If he is reasonably prepared and does not suffer a TIA, he'll get through them adequately.
Whaddya think?

Also, I loved the fact that he played the full clip- since the meme now is "Well, in context he was talking about roads." No, he wasn't. The roads bit came later. The first thing he said (and he repeated it, so he must have thought it was the core of his argument) was "If you were successful, you didn't get there on your own."

There are places on this planet where governments have changed hands dozens of times, yet the markets located in those places have operated continuously through all those changes. If the US government disappeared tomorrow, NYC would still be a center of finance under whatever government replaced it and Texas would still be a center of energy production and the west coast ports would still ship things from here to Asia. Anyone who thinks about the implications of these facts for even a minute will see that Obama and Warren are putting the government "cart" before the business "horse".
Another of Warren's arguments is that, without government, "marauding bands of thieves" would go around stealing people's property. Well, let's say that without government, society devolved into some sort of anarchy. For the time when that condition was in effect, the people who had formerly made up the business class would dedicate less time to their businesses and more time to voluntarily joining forces to kill the "marauding bands". In that fight, my bet is on the combined wits and forces of those who are capable of business success over the flotsam and jetsam that would make up those bands, since, in some cases, the kinds of skills that go into being organized enough to run a business also can assist in forming posses dedicated to killing. Once they kill enough of these people, they'll get the hint that you can't go around stealing other people's property. So, another false problem Warren throws up in support of her position, since the problem can actually be solved without government. Heck, a lot of what I just described happened in the Old West right here. As a 1/32 Indian, Warren ought to know that about this little thing called "frontier justice".
People in government are just not that important in the grand scheme of things and they need to be put back in their box, i.e. the Constitutionally mandated limits set on them.

many pundits who can write up a response to an event in 30 minutes and post it on the internet seem to think that the Romney campaign can "respond" to Obama in the same timeframe ... Pundits don't have a grand plan and strategy that any response needs to fit into ...
Romney initally took what I call the "Geneva Convention" approach to fighting with Obama ... I'll play by some rules (tell the truth and don't get personal) and expect you to as well ... he assumed Obama had signed the convention ...
Little noticed in the Geneva Convention are the sections dealing with rule breakers in warfare ... summary executions in the field of battle are PERMITTED by the convention ...
Once Obama turned nasty and stepped outside the rules of the political convention Romney did'nt just say, "Oh well" ... nope, he refused to play the cheaters game and also increased his attacks on Obama record ...
To most fair observers Romney has played this fairly, he kept it away from the personal (and still is) and now refuses to play by the cheaters rules (Bain bad, more tax returns) ...
Did people think his Bain success was simply luck ?

JeffC, also people need to understand that Romney doesn't have a lot of available cash right now, which is why he can't rsspond in kind to Obama's $100 million TV assault. Almost everything he raised before the primaries was spent in the primaries, and everything he has raised since is general election funds that cannot be spent until after the RNC convention. Obama has been raising money continuously and since he had no primary opposition he can spend a lot of it now, and that is what he is doing.
Romney's going to have a shitload of money to drop on TV and radio and Web ads after the convention. What he did in the Florida and Ohio primaries is what we will see in September and October. He is going to carpet bomb the airwaves and bludgeon Obama.
The objective now is to keep him above water while Obama throws everything but the kitchen sink at him. Fortunately, Obama keeps stepping on his dick and his campaign keeps going too far with its attacks on Romney's character, and voters are turned off by both.

I think this will strike a chord with all the people who had fathers who used to be employed in manufacturing and aren't any longer. There's also the aspect of real, honest work in making something for somebody else who doesn't have the skill themselves. Lots of today's professionals were put through kollidge by blue-collar dads who wanted their kids to have a better life.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits rose by 34,000 last week, a figure that may have been skewed higher by seasonal factors.
"All of this is statistical noise," Joshua Shapiro, chief U.S. economist at MFR Inc., wrote in a note to clients. "What will be more important than these short-term gyrations is where claims settle down after the distortions end. We suspect that the data will point to a soggy labor market."
What it points to is Joshua and the rest of twats who see every uptick in unemployment at unexpected are Obama zombies making every excuse for a shitty economy

I hear you and share this some. But there are a lot of independents/moderates out there who voted for Obama for a variety of reasons last time. There are a lot of people between the conservative, no questions asked people who believe as we do and the moderates who have probably been a bit taken aback at Obama's lurch to the left, and who would respond to this.
I'm starting to think it may be enough to beat the out and out leeches that Obama is courting. But it's getting closer and closer to the tipping point where the leeches will outnumber the productive and those who are striving to be.
