So, here's a clip of a very underrated comedy from 1982, a movie that tried to ape the zany joke-a-second nothing's-too-silly style of Airplane.

I actually think it succeeded! Oh, it's not an all-time classic like Airplane, of course. But it's funny. I like the story. I like the characters. I actually rooted for them, even if this movie was, by design, the stupidest, most cliched story ever told. (It actually is a parody of afternoon soap operas.)

So, if you've never seen it, rent Young Doctors in Love from Netflix.

Hector Elizondo's in it, Michael "Kramer" Richards, Taylor Negron (pizza guy from Fast Times), Sean Young, Michael McKean, Harry Dean Stanton... Fun movie.

I think there are some boobies but my memory is fuzzy. Confirmation: There are boobies.

In lieu of an epic Barolo, I am enjoying Big House Red 2011 (located, if not sourced, in Soledad, CA), a competent meritage with 20 varietals in it (if you can believe the winemaker). It's a tiny bit of a pastiche, but the Petit Sirah came through for me, and I was a happy man, for a time.
