No Bounce in Polls For Obama's Address
— Ace

People don't like reruns.

People also tend to change the channel on a show when they realize it's a rerun.

Especially if they didn't like it the first time.

33 I mean, you can call it a rerun, but this one had Buffett's secretary in person, whereas other speeches just talked about her but you couldn't really picture her face. Well, you kind of could since she looks exactly like what you expect a 55 year old secretary from Omaha to look like, but still - that was slightly different.

36 Taxes should follow the Buffett Rule. If you own stock in a corporation that's already paid 35% on its income, you should pay another 35% on capital gains or dividends. Actually make that 95% because America's about work, not lazy investment freeloaders who have nothing to do with our economy.

Another example of the MFM defining the narrative.  Fox had video of Brewer meeting him when he got off the plane.  She was nothing but gracious and smiling when they first met, but the picture they ran was of her with her finger up.

Only when President Training Pants started whining was there an issue.

It's telling that Brewer is making Obama out to be the passive-aggressive pussybitch and the White House saying it was no big deal, nothing to see here.

Somebody really needs to assemble the history of democrat inter-party warfare between progressives and the liberals/blue collar/anti-communist types.  I think some high profile oldschool dem's are starting to take notice that they have totally lost control of their party control.

I have little sympathy for them, between the flames of Bush hatred and Obama worship they were happy to help fan every step of the way.

144 We don't need a third party, we need to dissolve the two existing parties and create one majority party.

There are so many policies that have 60-70% approval that can go nowhere because one party alone cant do it and the other party cant risk their small group of spaz's against it.  The Keystone Pipeline is a perfect a example.

There are countries like Israel or Britiain that have three+ parties... instead of 51% screwing the other 49%, ideologies that can organize 35% can rule over the other two 32% and 33% parties.

With Humans and politics 35% is a scary number, look at the polls, with only needing 35% you can get groups, who want full on open borders, fox news shutdown by force,  and lots worse.

The enemy is the Progressive/Communist Left more than the GOP, although the GOP, with folks like McConnell, Miss Lindsey, McLame, Boehner and quite a few others, are moving left at a slightly slower pace. I've yet to call anyone who chooses an opposing candidate a name. I've yet to attempt to discredit the value of the opposing opinions here. I've never accused anyone here of doing anything less than voting with their hearts and minds, regardless of how much I might disagree with the opposing opinion.

What happened?  You are really upset and it's the first time I'd swear you weren't a guy cause you sound like a girl.

That's not meant as an insult, just factual.  But I hope I've never said anything that upset you.  I've never like Mitt Romney, like from the beginning when I came here I always said that I didn't like him.  So my stance on his is nothing new.

Seriously, take a night off and then come back.  The asshole quotient is far lower here than most other places and I think you are a reasonable contributor to the blog (not that my opinion counts for very much as my sponsor often reminds me).

200 Even most libertarians think that the government has a role in preventing epidemics, or even diseases. The government also has a role in dealing with the courts - keeping the quacks out of business. The "no role" standpoint would be anarchism. (Assuming you're just being careless in your terms, and not setting up a straw man, Tom Tomorrow-style.)

208 The "no role" standpoint would be anarchism.

There are libertarians who push for what they call anarcho-capitalism. They'd probably object to everything you've listed except for the courts as being "utilitarianism".

Not sure whether they or the minarchists are more common.

Just checked the other thread; time has expired. However, at this link (removespaces):

The courses are available, and a DVD is to be released next week. I plan on getting the DVD ($120.00), and I anticipate recommending it. The DVD alone mght be enough of a refresher.

Disclosure: I took all 3 courses (in a classroom, for much less than $250 each), the last 2 from the author. I am otherwise uninvolved, and will receive nothing.
