— Ace People don't like reruns.
People also tend to change the channel on a show when they realize it's a rerun.
Especially if they didn't like it the first time.

Another example of the MFM defining the narrative. Fox had video of Brewer meeting him when he got off the plane. She was nothing but gracious and smiling when they first met, but the picture they ran was of her with her finger up.
Only when President Training Pants started whining was there an issue.
It's telling that Brewer is making Obama out to be the passive-aggressive pussybitch and the White House saying it was no big deal, nothing to see here.

I thought I knew you
What did I know
You don't look different
But you have changed
I'm looking through you
You're not the same
Your lips are moving
I cannot hear
You voice is soothing
But the words aren't clear
You don't sound different
I've learned the game
I'm looking through you
You're not the same
Why, tell me why
Did you not treat me right
Love has a nasty habit
Of disappearing overnight

Somebody really needs to assemble the history of democrat inter-party warfare between progressives and the liberals/blue collar/anti-communist types. I think some high profile oldschool dem's are starting to take notice that they have totally lost control of their party control.

There are so many policies that have 60-70% approval that can go nowhere because one party alone cant do it and the other party cant risk their small group of spaz's against it. The Keystone Pipeline is a perfect a example.
There are countries like Israel or Britiain that have three+ parties... instead of 51% screwing the other 49%, ideologies that can organize 35% can rule over the other two 32% and 33% parties.
With Humans and politics 35% is a scary number, look at the polls, with only needing 35% you can get groups, who want full on open borders, fox news shutdown by force, and lots worse.

On the domestic side, maybe. But Libertarians generally abdicate responsibility for foreign policy.
I 'spect it'll be easier to move the Republican Party to small government than it would be to move the Libertarian one to an active foreign policy.

"That party already exists, it's called the Libertarian Party." Point taken, but there are far more Pubbies currently in office. There are many valid principles in the Libertarian Party, but they suffer from an image problem, much as the TP does, the difference being that the TP's problems are the result of a coordinated attack by the MFM, whereas the LP's image problems are self-inflicted, primarily by its association with Luap Nor today, IMO.

i don't think Ron Paul is an inaccurate representation of libertarianism, at least in its older, Barry Goldwater form, which is in fact against federal anti-discrimination law and other positions that get hardcore libertarians in hot water.
that can be criticized of course, but the alternative today, "Reason"-type trendy lifestyle libertarianism, is more likely to attack the GOP as a bunch of theocrats than seriously critique Democratic policy

Keep in mind that they ideology kinda did it to themselves. Given a choice between Luap Nor and Gary Johnson, they voted (with their money) for Luap Nor.
Johnson's only running as a Libertarian now because Luap Nor turned the party down. If he changes his mind, they'll dump Johnson faster than you can ask, "What about the newsletters?"

Have to disagree... speaking for myself... I will attack the GOP when it tries to dictate lifestyle with legislation... but I do the same to Democrats...
Its not so much GOP and Democrat... its Statist vs Individualist...
I don't want the GOP telling me who I can marry... nor do I want the Dems telling me I HAVE to associate with someone... BOTH Partys think they know how to run our lives better than we do, and Legislate to control us...

Which is why most people who lean Libertarian are not part of that Party...
Just as I'd say most of the TEA party members (at least those I met) don't really like who the Media decided was THEIR spokemen either...

Just like when we have a tornado here in OK, the media go to the nearest trailer park to interview witnesses. "Yup. We seen that there tornader, an' mah mama says, Jeanine, honey, yew git yore heiny in here right naow. But it wuz a biggon' ah tell ya. Killt all mah daddy's huntin' dawgs". Makes me cringe. Then the damn thing goes on national news.

personally i don't want conservatism reduced solely to anti-statism and "if it doesn't directly hurt someone else who cares" fallacy. a GOP that's solely economically conservative is not going to have near as much grassroots support or sway enough Democrats to make up for it.

I am tired of being called a Romney-bot because I have chosen to vote for a candidate you do not prefer. Just as I was tired of being called a Perry-bot when I supported him. Now some sonofabitch is saying I was PREPPED before the fucking debate?!
If supporting the candidate of my choosing isn't to your liking then too fucking bad.
I've yet to call anyone who chooses an opposing candidate a name. I've yet to attempt to discredit the value of the opposing opinions here. I've never accused anyone here of doing anything less than voting with their hearts and minds, regardless of how much I might disagree with the opposing opinion.
If coming here between now and next November means putting up with a bunch of mealy-mouthed assholes who can't tolerate opposing points of view, then I'll find somewhere else to spend my time.
A big "fuck you!" to all of whom I have referenced above.
I'm out of here.

I mostly lean libertarian these days because the current government has gone way too far. If I live long enough to see Leviathan rolled back, I might turn centrist again.

What happened? You are really upset and it's the first time I'd swear you weren't a guy cause you sound like a girl.
That's not meant as an insult, just factual. But I hope I've never said anything that upset you. I've never like Mitt Romney, like from the beginning when I came here I always said that I didn't like him. So my stance on his is nothing new.

There are libertarians who push for what they call anarcho-capitalism. They'd probably object to everything you've listed except for the courts as being "utilitarianism".
Not sure whether they or the minarchists are more common.

Posted by: Schrödinger's cat at January 27, 2012 07:36 PM (phlKA)
There's a fairly wide line between disagreeing with someone and insulting them.
I'm assuming that you're not insulting someone just because of a difference in opinion.

The courses are available, and a DVD is to be released next week. I plan on getting the DVD ($120.00), and I anticipate recommending it. The DVD alone mght be enough of a refresher.
Disclosure: I took all 3 courses (in a classroom, for much less than $250 each), the last 2 from the author. I am otherwise uninvolved, and will receive nothing.

Nope. Nothing baffling about it at all.
Come October, you'll be reading, that as a Concerned Conservative, it doesn't think it's worth it to vote for the GOP nominee whose scandal has engulfed the campaign, Barack Obama is just too gosh darn popular, we should all just give up, we're better off focusing on 201x, etc.
I guaran-fucking-tee it.

You answered yourself - they don't want to reverse it, just manage it better. Statists of every stripe love consolidating more power (and more opportunities to skim) to the Federal Government.
