We live in Florida and she works for me. Every day at our office she's banging the drums of negativity:

1. Conservative pundits are saying they're very concerned about Romney's chances.

2. On the 6 TVs At her gym, Obama commercials everywhere - none from Romney

3. Where's Ryan? He needs to be making a lot more noise. Who's holding HIM back?

4. Former McCain staffers are running Romney's campaign, so no wonder he's not winning

5. Old people here in Florida sit in front of their TVs all day getting indoctrinated with Obama commercials.

6. College kids are automatic Obama drones unless they specifically tell her otherwise - and even then she doesn't quite believe them.

7. It comes down to 3 states: Florida, Ohio, & Virginia, and Romney's going to lose all 3 because old people in Flroida watch too many Obama commercials & feel entitled to our money.

8. The polls are consistently showing Obama ahead in the swing states, and she doesn't understand the D+8 skews when I try to explain them to her.

9. Last night she texted me at 11:30 after catching Krauthammer on Bill O'R. She was in a major panic.

10. I was listening to Tucker Carlson on Hannity today; when that segment was over, guess what? My extension rings. "Did you hear that? Carlson is worried. Romney's going to lose!"

11. And I just spent an entire hour here at the office, trying my best to explain the Reagan/Carter race, the Dukasis lead over Bush, how Romney didn't become a multi-millionaire by being completely stupid, and how I think Romney is geting ready to unleash a big can of whoop-a** on the JEF. (I'm not sure I believe that last point, but ya gotta have SOME faith that he learned SOMETHING from Juan McLame's woefully inept campaign)

I feel like I'm going to punch her if she doesn't stop. And this is someone squarely on the right side!

I can't take another 48 days of this. I'm nervous enough.

Rush is right: it takes a lot more energy to be optimistic than pessimistic.

I think of him as Ogabe/Chairman ObowMao, but he really is a hybrid between Mugabe and Kim Jung Il (who was an avid golfer, pop-culture vulture, perfect bowler, music lover, and the best writer to ever put a pen to paper). I don't think Kim Il Sung was quite as refined as his son, and he didn't have time to excel at all the leisure activities that his son did.

We took time out of our busy schedule to sign the online condolence book set up by Secretary of State Clinton. But today she told me she's rethinking that, because she emailed her brother-in-law to ask if his sons were conservative, but she hasn't heard back from him. She's now very suspicious. She's just called him and left another message. The neurosis is strong with her this election. I love her to death, but maybe she should go work the phones for Romney instead of my firm, and I'll hire someone else for the next 7 weeks. Then she could get some anecdotal evidence of what I believe: The Sunshine State is going for R-squared.
