— Ace Every company comes to resemble the virtues or faults of its CEO.
I assume someone has said that before or it's like a business thing or something. It sounds like it should be.
his has produced a campaign being animated by one thing above all. It is not exclusively about hope and change anymore, words that seem like distant echoes even to Obama’s original loyalists — and to the president himself. It is not the solidarity of a hard-fought cause, often absent in this mostly joyless campaign. It is Obama’s own burning competitiveness, with his remorseless focus on beating Mitt Romney — an opponent he genuinely views with contempt and fears will be unfit to run the country.Obama is sometimes portrayed as a reluctant warrior, sorry to see 2012 marked by so much partisan warfare but forced by circumstance to go along. But this perception is by most evidence untrue. In the interviews with current and former Obama aides, not one said he expressed any reservations about the negativity. He views it as a necessary part of campaigning, as a natural — if unpleasant — rotation of the cyclical political wheel.
Obama’s trash-talking competitiveness, a trait that has defined him since his days on the court as a basketball-obsessed teenager in Hawaii, was on display one night last February, when the president spotted a woman he knew was close to Sen. Marco Rubio in a Florida hotel lobby. “Is your boy going to go for [vice president]?” the president asked her. Maybe, she replied.
“Well,” he said, chuckling, according to a person who witnessed the encounter. “Tell your boy to watch it. He might get his ass kicked.”
Meanwhile, Stephanie Cutter and David Axelrod can't even talk to each other to decide what lies each will tell:
As Team Obama was gearing up to face Romney after the GOP primaries, Axelrod and Cutter — close friends who oversee the campaign’s massive messaging and communications operations — clashed over a minor incident that left them barely on speaking terms during a critical early part of the campaign. The spark, according to people close to the situation: Axelrod suspected Cutter of taking a network TV appearance he had been asked to do. The conflict, well-known inside Obamaland but not outside the inner circle — was really the reflection of a grinding campaign, Cutter’s propensity for stepping on toes, and Axelrod’s elliptical and disorganized management style.
And:
Many of Obama’s advisers have quietly begun questioning whether they should have picked Wasserman Schultz, an outspoken Florida congresswoman, as his DNC chairwoman. She has clashed with Chicago over her choice of staff and air-time on national TV shows — and they think she comes across as too partisan over the airwaves.
They ran a poll on her; she comes in last. Now, here's something a bit alarming for Team Obama: David Gibbs is actually their most popular surrogate, then Stephanie cutter, than some "Psakai" or something I've seen mentioned but I've never seen on TV.
That's not a Yankees-style Murderers Row.
More stuff in the article. Actually worth a read in full.

President Barack ObamaÂ’s campaign team, celebrated four years ago for its exceptional cohesion and eyes-on-the-prize strategic focus, has been shadowed this time by a succession of political disagreements and personal rivalries that haunted the effort at the outset.
They weren't that good last time. They had an incompetent opponent and the MFM in their back pocket. Hell, what more could they ask for?

Reposted from the ass end of the last thread....
Who do republicans like Akin's have advising them?
The way it should have been handled is this:
"There has been some contraversy over a term I used in an interview yesterday. I mentioned "legitimate rape" in the context of the abortion debate where advocates speak of exceptions torestrictions on abortion in the case of "rape, incest and the life of the mother". Most republicans support exceptions to any abortion restrictions based on these circumstances.
I mentioned "legitimate rape" to define that belief that a rape victim should have immediate access to the morning after pill or the option of abortion in the first trimester. What I don't believe is that a woman who is 8 months pregnant should be able to claim rape as an excuse to have a late term abortion, if the real reason is something else."
My personal view is that all life is sacred, so I tend to look at the subject from the perspective of the unborn child. However, the liberal press should not be allowed to twist my position into something that it is not."
A response along these lines would clear up the "legitimate rape" remark and shift the conversation to late term abortion, which he could win on.

The "writer" should have pulled his nose out of Barky's ass while he was trying to write this. He messed it all up. It was close, though:
Barky views America and Americans (of which Mitt Romney is but one) with utter contempt (mostly because the Indonesian retard is jealous of normal, intelligent, civilized people) and fears that everyone knows that he's totally unfit to run a lemonade stand.
And Barky isn't competitve, in any way at all. He's anti-competitive. He just loves cheating and stealing ... as the koran instructs its cannon fodder.

During secret Sunday Roosevelt Room meetings with his top political and White House advisers, Obama has expressed concerns that the enthusiasm gap between his 2008 and 2012 support could cost him the election. He often peppers participants with pointed questions about campaign metrics — he’s especially interested in gauges of base enthusiasm, including the latest reports on volunteer enrollment in swing states and college campuses.

The right answer to that comment from Obama would have been, "Who you callin' 'boy', boy?"
Betcha that would have taken the starch out of Mr. Glass Jaw's sails.
Of course, we all know what the story would have been at that point.

Let the dems get sidetracked and start screaming about this. Meanwhile, RR will be out telling people about the total destruction of the economy that the SCOAMT and his regime has wreaked. Go for it, Team O.

The response I posted above that Akin should have given wasn't meant to be a comment about abortion, but just an example of how he could have come out of this gaffe.
What that reply did was pivot the conversation from the media's line that Akin was saying rape was illegimate to a position that is fairly mainstream and places the late term abortion advocates on the defensive.

Now, Barky's stream of own-goals? People will remember those all the way thru

This is as much about abortion as it is rape.
Just the Obama abortion own goals such as his creepy clinical discussion on tape of why it is justified to let babies who survive botched abortions die since that was the intention of the Dr. and `mother`, and of course the punishing of his own kids (he dragged them into it) with a baby. You don't even have to be pro-life to be against that stuff.
Tying his extreme abortion stands with the gay marriage evolution in an add targeting family values African Americans could up the disgust factor.

... until you make abortion illegal but allow a rape exception. THen you;ll find the reports of rapes going through the roof. Think of medical marijuana, which is really just "recreational", with added kickbacks to doctors who write prescriptions for anyone who pays them that claim they "need" pot. Originally, it was argued to only be for the poor cancer patients who needed their weed ...
Further, men accused of rape have all of their COnstitutional rights stripped of them and are immediately branded "guilty" and fucked for life. Having rape exceptions for abortion will just encourage women who want abortions to claim rape - i.e. illegitimate claims of rape - and many of those will eventually make their way to courts, ensnaring many innocent men. Also, don't forget that the left defines rape as "feeling pressured" or even just changing your mind about the sex after a day or a week or so.
No. We don't even bother punishing women who bear false witness about fake rapes and ruin people's lives, which means that women suffer nothign from making those accusations which then turn the accused lives' inside out without any recourse or redress. To make calls of "rape" the only exception for abortions would be nothing short of inviting total disaster and chaos.

I didn't care for Lou Dobbs' commentary. I just didn't seem to recognize the way this whole thing is played. The Dems say "we didn't call Romney a felon and a murder", and they didn't. What they actually DID was suggest he had committed a felony, and that he was responsible for a woman's death. Dropping hints and making actual accusations are different things. Dobbs didn't point out how Clinton-esque they were being, and instead just implied that they were simply liars.
Then he complained about Obama not apologizing, when he knows that these things are generally done by PACs (although I'm not sure about the recent ones), and are not his responsibilty. Obama can only say "I don't approve of such ads" (wink, wink, nod, nod). I think they said he at least went as far as saying that Romney wasn't a felon and a murderer (pretty impressive, huh?), but that happened before I tuned in.
He DIDN'T complain about this being essentially an unpaid campaign ad.

Killing an innocent child is a "health issue" to you? Yours is a typical Leftarded overreaction and shows just how much you are unqualified to discuss the issue.
Just so you know, pregnancy is not some sort of abnormal condition, as much as you'd like to think it is. The abortion issue is about more than the mother's health, it's also about the life of an innocent child, something you conveniently and blithely ignore.
Or is that too much for you to grasp?

Shockpoll: Obama could lose IL (http://tinyurl.com/9h6f55g).
What makes it interesting and almost believable outside of being a bad sample is that the numbers he gets out of Chicago proper are just under the typical at 60-30 Obama. Almost believable.
The swing has happened in the suburbs where Romney goes 45-38 -- which is what many of us (Jeff, myself) predicted Romney would do to that demographic slice (white, suburban, married, middle+ class).
"Across the county as a whole, Romney leads 43-31 among independent voters, a crucial voting bloc. Romney also holds a 44-38 lead among male voters, and a 53-40 lead among white voters."
Verdict: Shit Just Got Real

Akin made two mistakes, so maybe he should get out of the race.
First, he made a small gaffe in the way he phrased something on abortion to a local channel.
Second (and the reason he should go) is that he apologized for what he said.
In politics, you never, NEVER apologize. If you do, it confirms everything your opponents are saying. It says you agree with the way they are characterizing what you said, what they interpret your mindset to be and whatever extrapolations they've made in connection to the statement.
There are a lot of stupid politicians out there, but the ones who get ahead are those who know enough to have someone smart get them out of tight spots like this.

8 month on demand abortion no questions asked in case of claimed rape (with no evidence offered to support the rape claim).
You never responded to my counter that there's a civic duty to report rapes and have rape kits collected for later comparison in the DNA data base. Nor do I expect I'll ever get a rational response about that.
Let me pose a simpler question - do you believe its in the best interest of civil society to track down and prosecute rapists? Yes or no? Not much middle ground there.

In personal life I argue the moral case hard, I do draw the line at rape/incest but I think the RU-486 pill eliminates the need for mechanical abortion as a procedure. Politically it is important to respond with an answer as dishonest in its own way as the democrats' magically granted by the media one.
"Abortion is the law, I am opposed to it in inverse proportion to the probability the child can be safely brought to health if delivered as a preemie."

"Led the mission" is, of course, a reference to his technically being in command of it. The joke is that his "leading" amounted to being dragged off the golf course, to sit off on the side in a room where he pretty much didn't belong, because his underlings (who were really running things) might need him to OK something. But there's a nice picture of him being irked at having his game interrupted.
I still chuckle at the bizarre gushing by CNN over that photo. They celebrated "diversity", even though there would have been more black people (real ones!) and women in the room back in the Bush days. Then they threw out a bunch of racial stereotypes (that would have occurred to nobody else), but apparently that's "OK" if you're saying that this is disproving them.
Kind of like how the folks claiming that voter ID is racist are ACTUALLY saying that they think minorities are too incompetent to manage to obtain a driver's license or free ID card.

More like lose-lose.
Akin said nothing wrong, save his attemptd PC runaround espousing the lefty idea of "mind-over-body", which every lefty holds as a fundamental fact of Nature. He made a mistake in saying "legitimate rape" when he meant "actual rape" verusus "illegitimate claims of rape to get the abortion exception".
Don't let the PC left push you around. What Akin said was generally correct. His mistake was trying to tone down his opposition to the abortion exception (since women will then be making illegitimate claims of rape just to get the abortion exception) and taking on the idiotic leftist idea of mind-over-body - remember all those books about how you can laugh your way to a cure in cancer and how people only get sick if they really want to? Lefty ideas that most of them take seriously.
Akin shouldn't be pushed out because people don't understand what he said. His main point was correct - an abortion exception would be inviting disaster and pregnancies from actual rapes is exceedingly tiny - not by the left's definition of rape, though, which includes claiming that one "felt pressured" to have sex or a woman who just changed her mind after the sex.
Leftists destroy law and society through "exceptions". They've been doing this for a long time and I'm surprised that anyone would fail to recognize this.

I think it is murder as well, friend but yelling at the top of your lungs especially as a politician with the unfair environment created by the alliance of the media, teachers, and democrats simply shouting MURDER! does less than nothing in breaking our coalition....
I dislike asparagus immensely, if in moral outrage of my hatred of asparagus I force the matter in such a way it guarantees I am served asparagus to prove a point I have won my war on pointy mushy green veggies precisely in what way?
We must be guarded enough not to alienate the middle ground, and win our position over time. Vacating seats over righteous moral outrage further empowers the Barack of the broom closet dying room wing of America.

Then the fucking idiot shouldn't have came out the next day apologizing for it. He's apparently too stupid to realize this, so it's better he drop out.

Aw Geez---Little Debbie only came in "last" in the polls for Obama campaign surrogates?
Where else would Little Debbie come in dead last? Howabout:
Dead Last for "Miss Congeniality"
Dead last in an American history class.
Dead last in integrity and truth telling in the Obama campaign (admittedly that's a bar that's lower then whale shit in the bottom of the ocean, but our Little Debbie is a competitor).
And hopefully dead last in her campaign for re-election in Florida. Karma is a bitch--and so is Little Debbie.

First of all, cut your fucking condescension, you ass, like you're telling me something I don't know. Of course, the MSM has double standard, duh. What I'm saying is that R/R should throw that right back at them - we disowned our guy's remarks, why didn't you do that with Biden's? Again, turn it around and play offense instead of this endless cringing and apologizing and panty-wetting. Posted by: Donna V
Donna dear, I wasnt condescending, I was trying to sound comforting. Please don't call me an ass especially when i have not attacked you personally in any way.
Now on to the point you counterpointed, you just did it again.
Do you actually think complaining to the press that they arent making obama denounce biden is going to phase them? THey dont care my dear, they are in it to win it for their lovely barack.
They dont care if we cry like a bunch of babies that our opponents got a free pass. They arent fair. They are in the tank.
You cant win calling for an umpire. The umpire is baught and paid for and you get to start the game 27 points down before the whistle blows.

The ones claiming rape as a reason on an 8 month abortion who never reported the supposed rape.
Obviously, they think their shame/guilt/whatever trumps the civic responsibility to track down and prosecute rapists.
Of course, it COULD just be that the vast majority of such claims that can't produce any supporting documentation of the past "rape" are in fact phony as a $3 bill.

Bull. Shit. There is no "middle ground" here either politically or in belief. You either support abortion or you oppose it.

That's true. He should have just clarified, which he didn't fully do. But, then, so many people on the center-right force these people to "apologize" for having done nothing wrong. Joe Wilson was forced to apologize for accurately calling the Indonesian Imbecile a liar about giving illegals health care (and that was even before the Dog-Eater's illegal and impeachable rape of American law to just leaglize illegals on his whim). Joe Barton was forced to apologize for correctly identifying Barky's extortion of BP from inside the Oval Office (one of the most repulsive and disgusting acts from inside the White House, ever - also a clearly impeachable act).
I get sick of GOPers apologizing for stuff that is correct and not only shouldn't be apologized for but should be said over and over. But ... the squishes on the center-right constantly demand this becuase they're a bunch of cowardly idiots who know how to lose better than anything and don't give a shit about principles or truth.

And then you list the things he said that were wrong. Rape victims supernaturally and magically undergo a mystical process which prohibits conception? Come on. Just because lefties believe in those kinds of things doesn't make it right. And his legitimate, illegitimate distinction is unexplainable. If this is an issue he truly cares about, and he has been a multiple-term congressman, you would think that he would be able to explain his position in a way other than the most offensive possible manner.
In addition, in an election which hinges on key issues - the economy, the debt, jobs, entitlements - why the f*ck is he talking about abortion? Is he too stupid to realize that his comments would be used over and over again against him and every other Republican. Jeebus, Romney/Ryan had to come out immediately and distance themselves from him.
If he is too stupid to realize that you should be disciplined in your campaign message, how and when to pick your battles, or that if sex really is non-consentual you likely won't get pregnant, he shouldn't be running. I don't care that you think what the Democrats are doing to him is unfair. Maybe it is. But I care that neither he or you realized that they would. This was a stupid, unforced error that gift-wrapped the election for McCaskill.

Bullshit right back at you. I am realistic enough to know you can not beat the alliance we face by standing in front of a train moving with the force of 39 years of bullshit backing it in a single election. I will not allow myself to blow up on this again and I will decide if/when Akin steps down whether to go on.
No child will be saved through politics played so dumbly it further empowers the baby butchers, PERIOD.
I respectfully yield to your brilliance on thinking as you do.
