— Ace All of the above?
The announcement by the Interior Department sets into motion what will be at least a five year environmental survey to determine whether and where oil production might occur.
Meanwhile he's claiming that oil exploration is at an 8-year high, which is true, due to his actions, which is not.
But these facts are not particularly impressive considering that production has been relatively static since 2003 -- it is only slightly higher now than in previous years. We pointed this out in an examination of the president’s State of the Union address, citing an Energy Information Administration graphic that shows production levels well below the rates from 1951 through 2002.It’s also important to note that the Department of the Interior works with five-year lease plans for extraction. The last program, which came from President George W. Bush, ended just this year, meaning the production increase is mostly attributable to Obama’s predecessor. The ad states that production has risen “under President Obama.” This is technically true but misleading.

And you're surprised, why? I've said before that the GOP is a protection-racket. Under the system of government we have now, that's all it can be.

It struck me today.... Obama's Navy is experimenting with an entire Carrier Battlegroup using 'Green' fuel... which may or may not cause problems (and is way more expensive than normal AV Fuel)....
But Air Farce 1 still flys on normal fuel... wonder why...
Guess its only OK to gamble the lives of OTHERS...

On Drudge today there was a link to a study that proposed to prove, yet again, that conservatives are stupid. The actual study, though, demonstrated that when subjects were subject to stress such as a time limit, their solutions were more conservative. People use conservatives solutions when the solutions actually have to work.

WTF is wrong with the Party of Stupid?! I know they're not going to make use of this and if they tried, it'd be as inneffective as [insert something Obama's tried].
But what I'm really wondering is where the organizational problem is. We have smart folks on the conservative/Repub/libertarian side. And they're not all in business / talk radio so some of them must be interested in winning elections.
Why aren't some of them running the state/national GOP organization(s)? Is there truly a back room, filled with cigar smoking, scotch drinking mouth-breathers just keeping the compentent marketers/advertisers/campaigners/communicators out of the show?
Is there an old-boy's club that just sits around eating lead-paint chips and isn't letting the competent people have a say? How? (I know how businesses run, but how does 'the GOP' organize?)
Why can't the Party of Stupid pull its shit together? Something must be stopping it from happening....?

I think it could be argued that the success of the Right's infiltration of alt-media has made the GOP lazy. They no longer feel that they have to explain how our conservative principles based on the foundation of the US are successful when applied. Bush never really took the time to explain much of anything he did, both the reach-across-the-aisle bullshit that never was reciprocated or the necessary risky stuff like the Iraq war.
I sympathize with those that emote about a clean sweep of the old-guard in the hopes that new blood wouldn't be as lazy or reactive, but I see the problem with throwing everything out in an emotional fury. It never works out the way you intend.
This is the state of the GOP and conservatism; the GOP fails to live up to its principles but the temptation to burn it down reeks of desperation and carelessness. We're stuck here waiting for the next Reagan and he ain't coming.

The United States of America should vigorously explore which of the following energy options:
A) Crap
B) Pretend Stuff
C) Wishes
D) All of the above
E) Things that actually work.
See, it makes perfect sense. Coal, oil, nuclear, etc., are part of "all of the below," not "all of the above."

But wait, the oil is blacker than Obama
So it must be white-black on black crime
So it's racist

Our high corporate tax rate has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment. This has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations and meant fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.
Other developed nations have been cutting their rates for over 20 years. The U.S. did nothing.
The U.S. was at least able to stay out of the top spot until now, because Japan had also failed to get its corporate tax rate in line with other more competitive nations. But Japan has finally seen the light and reduced its rate as of April 1.
JapanÂ’s rate was 39.5 percent. That was just barely ahead of the U.S. rate of 39.2 percent (this includes the 35 percent federal rate plus the average rate the states add on). JapanÂ’s rate now stands at 36.8 percent after its recent cut.

Zero has overwhelmed so many different systems, has overreached in so many directions that it's hard to give any individual one the attention it deserves. Any number of things, alone, should do him in: economy, unemployment, price of gas/drilling, Afghanistan, Fast & Furious, stimulus, Solyndra & other companies, Israel, Russia, czars/commies, Eric Holder...the list goes on and on.
I'm not excusing the GOP. But hoping some of the PACs step up to the plate where the GOP fails.

Message to the Racist Right:
Obviously here IS something wrong with you. You are a racist, hateful, sick-demented scumbag! If youÂ’re not a racist, youÂ’re doing a horrible job proving youÂ’re not, and a great job proving you are! This is without doubt a sick, sick, hateful country! All it took was a Black man to become President and the racism and hatred flows through liike a Volcano.
Obama is not a marxist; he is a flipping corporatist. In other words, no, you canÂ’t name any Marxist things Obama has done, despite claiming heÂ’s a Marxist. I see.
Obama is NOT a racist, you have a problem with that, why donÂ’t you ask his White grandmother? He is a Christian who has attended Trinity United Church of Christ for nearly 20 years. And you low lives are quailified to judge another manÂ’s belief? NO. Neither am I. I have met real Christians, and they are not haters who call Obama evil, they arenÂ’t hateful racist, thatÂ’s you.
You all are a bunch of idiotic hillbillies that need to open your closed minds did you forget that Mr. Bush is the one that single handed destroyed America. By the way, It does not matter whether or not the information is correct. Those who leaked it presumably thought that it was. It does not matter that the President says that he did not knife Israel in the back and has “no interest” in leaks of this kind, or that “…the US is crawling with thousands of intelligence and former intelligence officials.” The buck stops at Obama’s desk.
If you donÂ’t like his views, or the views of well-educated, respected journalists, by all means unlike his pageÂ….no one is forcing you to be hereÂ…Â…but at least for us please unlike because unfortunately we are forced to read the un-educated, racist remarks that someone like you who probably thinks an unethical person like Newt Gingrich should be PresidentÂ…lol
