Obama Signals US Weakness To Terrorists
— LauraW

The President Rewards The Murderers Of Our Ambassador

When bad guys kill a US Ambassador, the American response should be tough and decisive. There need to be consequences to abusing the trust we show the host country by having an embassy there.

Not only wasn't the attack in Libya about a movie, but even if it was, the American response to mayhem and murder should be the same. If these fanatics are so removed from civilization that they will rape and murder over an insulting film, that is all the more reason to fight them and deny them any power over us whatsoever.

At the very least, we should withdraw our financial aid to the host country! And we should absolutely not, ever, accede to whatever their demands or wishes are.

Instead, President Obama and his administration officials dithered, apologized, blamed an inflammatory youtube video, went to a fundraiser, and took calls. And had the video maker arrested under sketchy pretext.

This is a test of our leadership. The terrorists are watching this. And so are America's other enemies. President Barack Obama has sent a terrible signal of weakness that puts the safety of ALL Americans- especially those abroad- at risk.

If Americans blame our own right to free speech when foreign fanatics murder us, and we agree to domestically enforce Islamic anti-blasphemy laws to make these killers happy (as if they could ever be satisfied), then what else can they get us to do by killing our citizens?

And we need not write up a list- the enemy is doing that right now. They'll let us know what they want, now that they know how easily their desires can be purchased with our own blood.

The shortsightedness of this President's weak reaction cannot be overstated.

Dear Lord, they don't even have to keep hostages anymore, apparently! The enemy need not waste the food and water. Outright murder, the crudest and easiest course, will do. It is mind-boggling that President Obama thinks that after the hostages are dead is the best time to accede to terrorist demands.

We are so craven and cowardly now, that we tremble in the face of these mighty Islamist warriors. "Please don't kill us! We'll do whatever you say! Am I breathing too loudly! Forgive me!"

Is this what our brave military men and women have been toiling and dying for, all these years? To have our rights summarily pulled away in the end, this way?

This is a travesty. Innocent people are going to be haunted by the actions of this president, for many years to come.

18 The only appropriate response, in my mind, would have been B-1 bombers flying at treetop level at the brink of Mach 1, to be followed by uninterrupted sorties of B-52's carpet bombing them back to the f'ing stone age (which is apparently about a week ago) This could then be followed by some humanitarian aid in the form of new underwear and freshly moistened towelets for them to clean up after fouling themselves.

Oh, and something I cynically predicted when the attacks in the M.E. began has come to pass: "Poppin' Fresh" has combined the burning of embassies and the death of an ambassador with Choom Boy's campaigning, and has decided it's an "Obamateurism." That's industrial-strength stupidity, even for Tepid Air.

Is this what our brave military men and women have been toiling and dying for, all these years? To have our rights summarily pulled away in the end, this way?

No, Laura.  What they have been fighting for is to give a bread and circuses-addicted, innumerate, illiterate population the freedom to breed, consume and demand.  A nation of grasshppers counting on the despondency and docility of the ants to keep them happy.

Turn on your television.  You think any of the slugs in "reality" shows or the "Cops" variations across the country give a damn about rights?  Or could even enumerate them?  We're worse off than the late Roman Empire, because we don't have an underclass of slaves - we have an underclass of parasites, determined to wring the last bit of money from our pockets and then to kill us before ever having to earn an honest day's living.

You remember the 1984 quote about a boot stomping on a face forever.  To paraphrase O'Brien, "Do you want to know what the future will look like, Laura?  Picture a nation of Peggy Josephs demanding your money.  Forever."

53 This morning for the very first time (that I have seen) broadcast CBS questioned whether the video story was true. They showed the Ambassador Rice clip and then the Libyan President clip but closed by saying it was far too soon to question whether security should have been higher. I actually wrote to our local station complaining that by simply repeating the wire service video excuse in every broadcast they were going to look like liars and fools when it becomes obvious that that story is propaganda from the WH to cover for murdered Americans. I don't expect it to change anything but this is how completely America has fallen---WH puts out an obviously fake story and it goes on the wire services and then every single outlet in the Country simply repeats it for days and days and don't care whether it is true or not. We are Soviet America.

58 Well, the real irony with all of this is that millions of conservatives voted to elect Obama in the first instance, by not voting for McCain, and in November probably a similar number of conservatives and putative conservatives will vote to reelect Obama, by not voting for Romney. You can't really fix terminally dumb and irrational. That aside, none of this should be surprising. Shit, the only way in which to be surprised by any of this is if you were paying zero attention from the get-go. Obama's core political ethos is one of radical leftism. Inherent in radical leftism is a disdain for America and for its ideals and mores. 1+1 = 2. It's really that simple.

Very well said, Laura.   I can't begin to put into words how FURIOUS this idiot administration's reaction to   the events in the Middle East has made me.   Not just the righteous fury of an American who's seen four fellow American's murdered without consequence, but as an American who is scared to death for the future of this country.  When we bow to terrorists -- and given Obama's proclivities, that's a literal bow in addition to a metaphorical one -- then we're not America anymore.   I don't know   WHAT we are.   And the fault lies entirely with Obama, Hillary, and every other    member of this weak, foolish, detestable administration.

We've shifted to a siege mentality in the Middle East.  Instead of staying actively engaged and killing Taliban where they live,  our troops are forced to sit in static bases  to be attritted by these double agents.

You can either sit in your bunker and accept the situation  as it exists, or you can go on  offense and enforce your own reality.  It's obvious which Fuckhead prefers.

Time to un-ass that shithole. All our troops are doing is sitting in place, wondering if they're the unlucky one next time. I am disgusted at how cheaply Obama spends our soldiers' lives, not even demanding payback.

The reason conservatives didn't vote for McCain was entirely McCain's fault. First, he was a weak candidate, and remains today more of a democrat than a republican. He ran a laughably inept campaign, and paid the price for it. To this day he continues to operate under the belief that the media's portrayal of Republicans as heartless, cruel, and extreme, is the truth, and still takes each and every opportunity to get his fat face in front of the cameras to agree with them.

He took his one touch down pass, (Palin), and instead of running the ball, took a knee, and suspended his campaign to rush back to Washington in order to 'cross the aisle' in support of the left.

89 I will never forgive the MFM stating that our ambassador, SEALS and attaché gave their lives for freedom. They were brutally sacrificed on the altar of the SCOAMT's ME policy. Not only were they not respected enough to be securely guarded, but the JEF partied, compared his campaign workers to the embassy staff, and slept for 15 hours before making an apology. But Romney is bad!

90 Monday Rasmussen: Romney holds at 47-46. Tied at 48 again with leaners. Upon a closer look I realized Obama only gets 82% of blacks which jumps to 94% with leaners. That could be causing some of the disparity between the two polls. He's also down 7 with indies but only 2 including leaners. The wavering republican support is solidly back and was most likely just statistical noise. Swing states: Romney up 47-45. 49-47 with leaners. This poll is seven days so it will always include 2 weekend samples. Damn good numbers for a Monday.

97 Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction. I begrudgingly acknowledge that those are some fine American principles on display right there. But. . . Egypt & Libya --> The Nakoula photograph. Those fine American principles went out the window as soon as it came to "offenses to the sensibilities" of the foreign versions of the same group with whom Obama went overboard to demonstrate his solidarity on the basis of those fine American principles. Hell, there weren't even any offenses. That was just a cover story. Could it be that those fine American principles were nothing more than window dressing? Were those fine American principles just Obama's excuse to signal his solidarity with America's enemies to America's enemies? The leaders within islam are notorious for issuing two opposite messages in two different languages to two different target audiences. Obama thinks he's slick because he can accomplish the same thing with one message in one language. For eleven years and six days, even the stupidest motherfucker in this country cannot deny that we have been at war with islamists. [quibble: Personally, I believe we are at war with *islam*, and the timeframe should be extended back at least to when that camel-fucking piece of shit, Sayyid Qutb was born.) Whatever his intent, Obama is effectively playing for the other side. I will say it again: OBAMA IS PLAYING FOR THE OTHER SIDE. And, anyone who supports Obama for reelection is PLAYING FOR THE OTHER SIDE. There may not be a thing I can do about it since--at the moment, at least--my personal cost/benefit calculation tells me that I need to keep bullshitting myself and go through the motions that help keep this sham of "civilization" on the road and between the lines, but to echo the SCOAMF: Should SHTF, I know where my us/them line is drawn.

106 First official response/statement from WH after attacks in Egypt and Libya on  9/11/12?   around 20 hours

First official statement from President Bush after attacks 9/11/01? 44 minutes
First address to the nation from the White House? less than 12 hours

Politico has a timeline from the first tweet of a problem in Egypt to when The Won spoke at the Rose Garden on 9/12/12. Four hours later, while four were dead and attacks raged in the Middle East, he jetted off to a fund raiser in Las Vegas.

Wikipedia has a timeline for 9/11/01. When President Bush first spoke to the media, he was still at the elementary school, shortly after two planes had hit the WTC. Minutes later a plan hit the Pentagon. Minutes after that attack, Flight 93 crashed into a field in PA.

If nothing else, I do hope people will compare and contrast the timelines of how two presidents responded to crisis.

Yes, because what everyone will look at is how did Obama do versus Obama. Third-party and stay-at-home votes won't count. The only way to signal a rejection of Obama that matters in our system is to vote for the alternative.

A couple of NYC votes won't matter to the election's outcome, but if enough voters don't express a clear preference against the Big 0, then it weakens the rebuke of the last four years.

And heaven forfend if we win the EV and lose the popular.

And I think it's probably worse than that actually. It's easy enough to *say* you favor free speech on a survey, but when push comes to shove a lot more people will want everyone to just "get along."

This is why media tools like Saletan talk about the film's content and the government exposes all this junk about the guy's life. None of that should be relevant, but it helps nudge the FA waverers against him. "Oh yeah, I'm for Bill Maher's First Amendment, but not this dirt bag's."

Laura I can't tell you how many times I've said this same thing to people in person and on the internet.  Thank you.  Why can't people understand?

I see images that say...Coexist or Die!  But that is all wrong.  To a Muslim it is Convert or Die!  It always has been that simple.  Maybe some have put that in the back of their minds for now, but it is still a tenet of their faith.   This is not religion of peace as far as Mohammad was concerned.  The only peace he sought was after he had eliminated all non-believers. He and his followers raised armies to over-throw, not just governments, but their religion, their ideals.

They may not have organized armies today but their goal is still the same.  They don't want to eliminate the United States governement, they want to eliminate Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, etc.  They despise us for our tolerance,

When was the last time you saw a Muslim going door to door to evangelize or holding peaceful rallies to convert people?  They rule by fear not faith, and some people haven't figured that out.

There's a solid 20% of the electorate that is 100% moonbat.  Of that 20%, I could see 15% feeling it's more important to look after the "feelings" of other cultures over our own freedom of speech.   I agree that 72% is far too low a number;   it   should be at least in the 80's.

153 52 Did Reagan signal weakness when he tucked tail and ran after 241 US Marines were killed by towel-heads at a US embassy in Lebanon?

***

Yeah.  Weakness was a real Reagan hallmark.  Less than two years after Lebanon, when the Libyan merely bombed a Berlin disco, RR signaled weakness by dispatching F-111s from Britain and bombers from Navy carriers to bomb the crap of the Libyans, including Gaddafi's own house.

Oh, and lest we forget, in 1986 our dhimmi "allies" in France, Spain and Italy refused to allow the F-111's permission to over fly their territories adding a few thousand miles and much more risk to the mission.

President Obama has said that elevating the image of the United States around the world was one of his proudest foreign policy accomplishments, but those remarks could boomerang and hamper his reelection bid.

Can some moron answer a question for me about these polls?

The polls seem to be shifting.  But, does anybody know any actual person who has actually admitted to changing their mind who they intend to vote for?    ("Well, I was for Obama/Romney, until the convention but that Clint Eastwood/Jennifer Granholm speech completely turned me around and now the events in Libya have turned me back around and the events this week will turn me back around again...")

Does anybody actually know anyone like that?

At this point there is literally nothing that could make me vote for Obama.  Romney could show up for the debate in a clown suit and I'd still vote for him over Obama.   I suspect much the same is true for the vast majority of voters on both sides by now.  So what could possibly account for the dynamics of these polls?

The changes could be explained by undecideds moving to decided but the number of undecideds seems to be pretty constant so that probably is not it.

No. The Obamo Voters have are void of accountability, fisrt and foremost, which leads to the facts that there are no brains in the oriface known as a skull, and zero morality or self-accountability. I have just finished reading a blog where someone waxed poetic about Clinton's DNC speech and how Jesus freaks, and Bushbots would be the only ones voting for that evil scum Romney. And that Obama had 100% of the black vote, 75% of women and hispanics and even though he takes such flack for voting for Obama there was no way he would ever go R..

This is the problem. No one who has voted for Obama will hold him accountable any fucking where!! They are so blinded by the fact that they voted for a black man, who is half white, that responsibility is, was and will always be, say it with me-- Bush's fault!

We have no recourse and the President has now made us the fools on the hill because he is allowing the power to be wielded over his own citizens.

The State Department has bought more than $70,000 worth of books authored by President Obama, sending out copies as Christmas gratuities and stocking “key libraries” around the world with “Dreams From My Father” more than a decade after its release.

The U.S. Embassy in Egypt, for instance, spent $28,636 in August 2009 for copies of Mr. ObamaÂ’s best-selling 1995 memoir. Six weeks earlier, the embassy had placed another order for the same book for more than $9,000, federal purchasing records show.

I responded that this election is probably the most important we have had the opportunity to participate in (I wasn't of age to vote until Reagan's 2nd campaign) and that I wanted to be informed. She countered with, "If it's so damned important, why don't you disconnect from the echo chamber and go out an actually do something like volunteer?" Well, I'm not going to stop coming here, but this afternoon after work I'm heading over to the local GOP HQ and see if they can use my services. Smart woman I married way back when.

But about the pipeline, wasn't there something about possibly re-routing it?  I wondered what happened with that, and how that looks to the Canadians.  I suspect that the whole idea that the route was the issue is about as valid as blaming the Arab uprisings on some obscure movie that nobody's ever heard of or seen.

I've said it often: Get on your county GOP committee. If this stuff matters to you (and it does or we all wouldn't spend so much time here) become a committee person. It's the only way to get the party to listen to you, and the best base from which to take on Democrats.

Remember, it's not what happens during the heat of an election that matters most, it's what happens the in the intervening months and years. Shaping the message and the platform. The problem is that for liberals, everything is political. Conservatives, by nature, live their lives and care for their families, with government/politics over there. Liberals live this stuff. We'll never be as obsessed as they are, but we need to engage them more outside of election season.

It's all good, but let's not overstep, lest we open ourselves up to claims of misinformation.  I speak of this sentence:

"And had the video maker arrested under sketchy pretext."

The way I heard it (here, and at Breitbart), the video maker was brought in for questioning "voluntarily" (after midnight, surrounded by at least 6 cops, with news media snapping pictures).  He was NOT arrested, and was released after about a half hour.  Obama has no authority to order such a thing, and there have been no reports to that he did.

On the flip side, we are supposed to believe that this was over a "possible parole violation" that they just HAPPEN to have developed a sudden interest in (in the middle of the night), after the 9/11 events.

Oh, and I doubt Obama's groupies NEED him to order them to do this sort of thing.  They're TRUE believers, and know what Dear Leader desires of them.

Actually, if you note from the infamous photo, he's handcuffed. Setting aside the question of it's legality in the first place, handcuffed on the scene is a common safety precaution taken by police while gaining control of a crime scene or situation.

However, handcuffed and taken away from the scene in the back of a cruiser/paddy wagon by LEOs ALWAYS equals arrest. If he wasn't formally put under arrest before they took him away, that's kidnapping.

Although a "... miserable failure" in our eyes, Obama and the people around him are not stupid or inept. Events are unfolding as they had hoped. Their biggest fear is that the mask slips too soon.

If they are patient, a critical mass of Americans will have been convinced to accept being wards of the state, and the opinions of people like us, who are true to the vision of our Founding Fathers, won't matter.

308 You know what's the stupidest thing of all? My liberal sister- & brother-in-law were saying this very thing ("please don't hurt us") 4 years ago when BO was elected. It made me sick to my stomach then, and I hope it makes them sick to theirs now. (However, I doubt it. They consider themselves the smartest people in the room.)

This 'Jihadist' in the White House is repeating Neville Chamberlain who made 'peace in our time' with Hitler in giving away Czechoslovakia and the Sudentenland, which resulted in WWII and 60millions dead and 7 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

Obama wants to divide Jerusalem, Jewish for over 3000 yrs. and the 'holyland', Jewish for 5000 yrs. and give it to the very Arabs/Muslims alligned with Hitler and who danced in the streets after '9/11'.

Such betrayal and treachery while Obama allows Iran to get its nukes and tells us not to worry about Muslim Brotherhood, which also supported Hitler and gave birth to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood now has tanks and missiles in the Sinai in violation of 30 yr. treaty with Israel, while Obama and Hillary, last March, 2011 told us that Assad of Syria was a 'reformer'.  Now over 30,000 dead and 200,000 refugees and Obama is siding with Al Qaeda in Syria and Libya, the Taliban in Afghanistan, has no influence in Iraq since leaving so that Iran is flying troops and its war machine to Syria.

Meanwhile in total violation of Title 18 of U.S. code, Obama has given Hamas and Fatah $2billions while not supposed to giving 'material support to terrorists' and Fatah says its new state(Israel) will be 'Jew Free' and no different than the Nazis saying that Europe and the World would be "Jew Free'.

Our corrupt media whores in bed with Obama have put this country as well as Israel in grave danger.

Obama lied that the attack on 9/11 anniversary against our Consulate in Libya that cost the Ambassador his life as well as 3 other Americans, was due to a video on the prophet, when it was a deliberate terrorist attack from Al Qaeda and gang, as well as the 26 countries with riots from those screaming 'death to Israel' and 'death to America', which Obama is in bed with.

We are in an 'emergency' and another 4 yrs. like these last 4 and America, the West and Israel won't be able to survive this horrible scam in the White House who can't be trusted on any level with his appeasements, lies and treachery.

Wake up America before it is too late. Hold you nose but get Romney in or we won't have a future to worry about.
