Obama: You can't change Washington from the inside."
— Ace

Now he tells us. After promising to change the world were he given the position of Ultimate Insider, the President.

Now it turns out it's all on us-- the man can only do so much. We have to carry him across the finish line. Us. We are the change we've been waiting for.

And if we screw things up, well, that's on us.

And of course Obama shifts the failure to "The System" or Washington, DC. As a coblog pointed out, this is the left's go-to formulation: Whenever they are defending a failed president, be it Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama, they begin insisting the country is just plain ol' "ungovernable."

We heard the same thing in 2010:

Leave it to Mickey Kaus, a principled liberal who supports health-care reform, to debunk these structural excuses: “Lots of intellectual effort now seems to be going into explaining Obama’s (possible/likely/impending) health care failure as the inevitable product of larger historic and constitutional forces. . . . But in this case there’s a simpler explanation: Barack Obama’s job was to sell a health care reform plan to American voters. He failed.”

You know who says success is impossible? Losers. It's all they have. Then someone demonstrates it is in fact possible, and they quietly slink back into the shadows, where they should have stayed.

More: Jonah Goldberg notices that Obama believed this in 2008, already. His belief was that his position as an outsider, though, would "inspire" people to Be The Change or whatever bullshit.

Well, that didn't work.

So now what? What's Plan B? Oh, right, Plan B is just Plan A again.

Let me clarify this, if I wasn't clear: In 2008 he already said he knew you "can't change Washington from the inside," but somehow his outsideriness would overcome this.

Well, it didn't.

So if he's explaining why it will be better from now on, he needs to offer a new plan.

But instead he's offering the old one -- the one he now concedes failed.

He's just pretending it's new, that it's something that he's learned over four years.

Nope.

Same crap as in 2008.

17 New Jersey gun sellers have been doing a brisk business over the past few years, reflecting a larger national trend of increased firearm ownership.

And it doesn't look like gun sales are slowing down any time soon. In June 2012, the National Instant Criminal Background Check System saw a 25 percent increase over June 2011.

More and more Americans are opting to exercise their Second Amendment rights, driving up domestic firearms sales and interest in shooting sports, which is good news for manufacturers and dealers.

Driving these record numbers are thousands of first-time purchasers.

And since his audience, in this case, was Latinos, it's obvious that Barack Obama is a racist.

"These facts alone should give proponents of the law pause. But the early experience with the elements of Obamacare that have already kicked in is downright dismal.

The core of Obamacare doesn't get started until 2014, when state-based exchanges are supposed to be formed as places for consumers to buy the legislation's tightly regulated, subsidized coverage. But early features of Obamacare are already failing.

The temporary "high risk" pools that Obamacare created, to provide a way for those with pre-existing health conditions to get insurance immediately, are undersubscribed yet way over budget. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the $5 billion allocated to these pools could enroll 200,000 consumers. They envisioned enrollment growing to more than 400,000. But only 77,877 have signed up as of July, yet the program is way over its budget. More than a quarter of these state-based risk pools are short on cash.

· The CLASS Act, which was supposed to provide consumers government-financed long-term care insurance has been abandoned, blowing an $86 billion dollar hole in Obamacare's cost estimates. The CLASS Act was never financially viable. Its costs would have outstripped revenue as soon as it was in full operation. But since it took in money five years before it started to pay out benefits, budget gimmickry let Mr. Obama capture that revenue and use it to finance Obamacare. In abandoning the measure, the President's own health secretary called the scheme "unsustainable."

· The crown jewel of Obamacare's effort to contain healthcare costs, the creation of Accountable Care Organizations, is so unwieldy that major provider groups have said they won't participate. The idea is to consolidate doctors, turning them into employees of large systems, and then pay these systems lump sums of money to take care of groups of patients. A letter from 10 major medical groups that previously ran similar programs said, "it would be difficult, if not impossible" to accept the financial design created by Obamacare. In another rebuke, an umbrella group representing premier medical organizations said 90 percent of its members wouldn't partake."

He turned this nation into the American Socialist Superstate from the inside. He almost singlehandedly destroyed the Constitution and made a mockery of the idea of any limits on the Executive. He took the US to war on the French say-so without getting Congressional approval ... without even bothering to inform anyone in Congress, even (which still wouldn't make it legal). I know mulligan. So when I need it, I can employ it masterfully. So, having just declared "Mulligan!" on my last four years, you can trust that I'm not wasting my declaration.

"That was an order!  SteinerÂ’s attack was an order!  Who are you to dare disobey my order?  So this is what it has come to?  The military has been lying to me!!  Everybody has been lying to me, even the SS!  Our Generals are nothing but a bunch of contemptible, disloyal cowards.  Â… They are cowards, traitors and failures!  Â…  The generals are the scum of the German people!  They have no honor!  They call themselves generals, because they have spent years at the military academy just to learn how to hold a knife and fork.  For years, the military has done nothing but hinder my plans!  TheyÂ’ve put every kind of obstacle in my way.  I should have done my best to liquidate all the high-ranking officers through the years, as Stalin did!  I never attended an academy.  And yet, alone, all by myself, I have conquered all of Europe.  Traitors!  From the very beginning I have been betrayed and deceived!  What a monstrous betrayal of the German people!  But all these traitors will pay!  With their own blood they will pay!  They shall drown in their own blood!  ... My orders have fallen on deaf ears.  It is impossible to lead under these circumstances.  It is over.  The war...is lost.  But if you, gentlemen, believe I am leaving Berlin because of itÂ… you are seriously mistaken.  I'd rather shoot a bullet through the head.  Do what you want."

Actually, even Reagan wasn't Reagan. Reagan's image now is the distillate of his entire Presidency. At this time in 1980 it wasn't clear how great Reagan would be. 327 The Dems did change Washington form the inside. They changed it from 400 billion annual deficits to 1600 billion annual deficits, while enriching their neighbors and impoverishing everyone else. Have we no lampposts? Have we no angry mobs? Seriously, we're talking historically unprecedented theft, the scale is almost astronomical. There should be riots. We were just so rich when they started robbing that we haven't realized how much they've taken, because we still have food. Which costs twice as much.

341 Warden@305,

I'm just not sure enough people yet realize just how absurd those numbers are. It's $5T in just debt. That doesn't mean $5T in total spending for Federal expenses... $5T above and beyond the many trillions collected that taxes can cover. It's a very simple concept but I just think too many of the "undecideds" suck so bad at math that they pretty much turn to their Play-Doh when these monopoly-sized amounts are brought up.

The only thing that can impact them are the immediate tangibles like employment and rising costs of day-to-day life. If they're subsidized by the government to the point where they don't actually realize loss, they just remain zoned out. So, and it's nothing new here, we're about to see just how many takers vs. givers there are and if we've already fallen off the cliff.

You have to remember his minions are low information voters...When he can get them to post pictures pledging alliegance to Teh WON with little memes written on their hands...they believe anything he says.

very low information voters...thats why they bought HOPE and CHANGE without any idea what that meant.

Hope is that ill-timed silent fart you just cut in your car on the way to work that turned out to be a wet one.

Change is what you are going to have to do to your underwear and pants before you go to the office so everyone doesn't find out you shit your pants you fucking retard.

355 I keep wondering if it is wrong to hate. And I do. Viscerally. With every cell, every breath, every single day.

January 20, 2013. Barky is not jogging up stair with limp wrists a-flappin' with pretend vigor, athleticism, and youth (or whatever the heck he thinks he is doing) in his pigeon-toed ghey fashion. He is slow and unsteady on the stairs, weak, sedated, and beaten. His suit, too big by four sizes as he is the skeletal remains of a jug-eared ninnyhammer, is wrinkled and sagging and blowing in the wind from Marine One. Marines snap a salute and smirk, as it is the last time they have to do this odious chore. He sort of, as is his fashion, returns a fake salute to the Marines with tears in his eyes. The Grand Mooch grabs him with her massive, burly guns to steady him, with a scowl that raises the hair on the backs of necks of anyone in the area, drags him up the stairs of the helicopter. Granny Voodoo is already on board with the girls, all wearing mis-matched and odd color combinations thinking they are setting fashion trends. Valerie Jarrett is also on board, ready to murder anyone who speaks to her. Barry and Mooch pose in the door of Marine One, glare at reporters, and wave a final good-bye. America exhales a collective sigh of relief. Gone is the gummy kooky grin of The Won. His skin, an odd cast of chartreuse and urine yellow indicating liver disease or heaven knows what kind of flatworm problem, is in a flop sweat. His hair, reminiscent of an Uncle Ben's Wild Rice box, is nearly all white. Buhrock has aged, with the weight of golfing. hanging with iReggie. and spending every dime he could of tax payer's money. His facial mole has grown with each lie and now has it's own zip code. He has given his all for the cause of socialism and globalism and every other radical ism, yet the American people spoke on November 6th (or 7th, when it is the turn of Democrats to vote). He was beaten soundly even with Chicago tactics and ACORN. He, The Won! has become The Sore Loser. He expected to trash the White House forevermore.

What the American peoples do not realize is the family and staff have stolen or peed on every important archive dating back to George Washington. Important papers are missing. Voodoo chicken feet are found in every corner with some evidence of illicit drug use. The entire White House needs not only fumigation but airing out. But we will survive.

This is the day America comes back. This is the day, 121 days from now. January 20, 2013. Never, ever give up on this, comrades. Fight to see it come true.
