Obama's Denial of an Apology Tour Undermined By Obama's Apology Tour
— Ace

"Everything he just said isn't true."

Except for everything he said.

Romney's also cut an ad from the debate, in which he lobs the charge. So obviously he thinks he got the worst of this.

Gabe does a fact check of Obama. Obama was... not bursting with accuracy.

Among the things you probably know about (Romney was correct on his bankruptcy argument about GM and the Status of Forces Agreement), he also misled on two other big things:

On the looming defense sequestration cuts, Obama claimed “The sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.” But according to no less than investigative juggernaut Bob Woodward, sequestration was the brainchild of White House chief of staff Jack Lew and White House Legislative Affairs Director Rob Nabors, who talked Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid into supporting it. By blaming Congress, Obama is eliding his own role in the failed negotiations that resulted in the U.S. credit rating being downgraded.

...

On Iran, Obama claimed to have implemented crippling sanctions that have "isolated" the country. In fact, Obama had nothing to do with implementing the sanctions regime. Congress wrote and passed the sanctions over Obama's objections and while Obama tried to water them down. After the sanctions passed Congress, Obama then provided 20 "waivers" so Iran's trading partners -- including China and India -- could continue buying oil from the rogue government.

More: Romney cut three ads from last night's debate.

80 OT;

Ahh another successful changeover from A/C to Gas Heat.

You never know it's going to work again until the burner lights and the blower starts.

And yes, yes I do keep the thermo low and the temps aren't in the freeze zone yet but I like to make sure it's working BEFORE the big freeze happens around about November.

Technology; ain't it wonderful. One of the major advances made that few people these days really appreciate.

Days gone by, a 1/4 of your life was spent cutting down, chopping up and gathering wood for the fire. Since it was so labor intensive it was a luxury doled out only when absolutely necessary. Also was the concomitant pollution of the air, particularly after coal started being used extensively.

Colds and flu took as many people's lives as any other cause and most due to inadequate heating let alone the loss of productivity even if you survived.

And we have MORE GAS than most countries and MORE COAL than anywhere else on earth. That we know of today.

But Mr. Snarky pants and his copantywaists wants us to go back to freezing our assets off.

85 1) How long has it been since the JEF (or his PACs) has released an ad that has made news?
2) After 4 debates, has Team JEF cut one single ad using footage from the debate?

Yet, here is Romney with new ad after new ad. And he is using debate footage for one huge reason: It puts him side-by-side with Obama and invites the voters to measure the men (of course, from the perspective most favorable to Romney).

That's why Romney went up after the second debate and will go up after this one.

If the JEF's zingers were so damned good, he'd have them out there in an ad showing the voters that this Romney guy isn't a worthy challenger.

We'll probably never know since HE won't be writing any memoirs (and we wouldn't believe them if he did) and any ghost writer won't touch that with John Holmes' dead dick.

I know it was humiliating to me and that's when I stopped listening to anything he had to say and hating him with a pure and righteous hate.

128 The birth of the 'Fact Checker' coincides with the rising power of the blogosphere's power at puncturing and destroying the liberal medias narrative powers.

The 'fact check' is most often used to blunt a Republicans attack against a liberal opponent.

Republicans are not allowed to create or shape the narrative that is why it was so important for Romney and to a greater extent for Republicans in general to destroy Democrats, DESTROY THEM.

Democrats have nothing to offer except the demise of the Republic.

Republicans have got to get it into their thick skulls that this is not a game, that the continued existence of the Republic is at stake and they have to play the game like they understand this fact.

"Everything he just said isn't true."

Initial line coming from both Democrats on the POTUS ticket, as if in "debate". Pathetic disclaimer of their own record.

Also regarding shades of grey, Obama refuses to recognize any such existence in his world, BLIND to the very nuance he touts. The Obama administration prefers to stay stuck on stupid, black vs. white.

Power of discernment: perceive the element of truth, however twisted, however exaggerated, within a lie. Also remember the false lesson proven in WWII propaganda that the Spaniard who became the agent "GARBO" for the British Intelligence taught us. The more preposterous the lie, the more people willingly believe it.

At least 47% prefer to swallow a camel rather than a gnat in one gulp. And evidently, the degree of intellect and sophistry cultivated does not prevent gullibility. People believe what they want to believe, see what they want to see.

It allows them to frame the question and therefore the answer (a la Ben Smith (of Buzz Drone) and Dave (I call him Wiggle cause he's such a little worm) Weigel and it also gives them the opportunity to later claim (when it's brought up again) that it's old news and not worthy of time and space discussing.

174 The debate last night showed me why Romney was such a successful CEO. While Obama was fighting yesterday's war, Romney had already moved onto the next step. Romney was done with Obama and his lies last night. Instead he simply began to lay the groundwork for his first administration, and to send a clear message to allies and foes of what America will do and will be. This reveals the actions of a man that knows the battle is already won. Meanwhile the liberals, maddened in their stupidity will hi-five about Obama's petty little snark about the modern Navy, but in the days ahead, military leaders NOT kissing Obama's ass will note that Romney is correct we MUST have a 300 ship blue-water navy. And Romney probably just sealed VA as the shipbuilding takes place there, not to mention the steel from Pennsylvania. Obama is all about scoring points and dancing in the end zone. Romney just continues HIS game, which while not flashy, is eating up ground, day by day.

178 I want Obumbo and his lovely bride to BOTH bow to Mitt and Ann on inauguration day. Oh, and did you see how short the JEF looked last night after the debate, with the whole Romney family about?

180 Assuming that's really "Greg" and not a very funny parody, I think we can all see that even Democrats can tell Obama's heading for a defeat in November. When they roll out the "Voter Suppression! DIEBOLD!" conspiracy theories it means they know they're going to lose. Hear that, "Greg"? Your caperings make us laugh. Dance, little monkey! Dance!

Calls to mind my assessment of the debate (back in the wee hours).  This especially relates to #1 and #2:

Romney was very steady, professional, and presidential the entire time. Obama sputtered at times, and had only three things to say:

1) Everything is much better in the world, thanks to me (when everybody knows that everything isn't great.

2) Romney keeps lying (when evrybody is probably starting to figure out who the real liar is).

3) I was left with a big mess, and if you re-elect a Republican again, that's going back to the same policies that"got us into this mess in the first place" (which is just his "blaming Bush" redux).

Obama even got insulting at one point, trying to accuse Romney of living in the past (i.e., the Cold War).

But another thing I remember is when he spoke of a girl he spoke to at ground zero. Did you guys notice how completely devoid of empathy and compassion he had for her? He was happy to use his few moments with her to try to score a few political points, but was not moved by her story in the slightest - it'sjust another reason to pat himself on the back. (It's the NPD - people with it lack empathy).

Yeah, get used to saying "President Romney".

@174

You're dead-on.

I heard a talk show guy this morning who partially supports your theory.  He notes that the campaigns have real polls - not the crap we're subjected to, and that Romney appeared to be a guy who was trying not to do anything risky to jeopardize his lead.

Even the first time I watched (when I couldn't pay full attention) Obama struck me as being on the defensive.  He was all about attacking Romney, and throwing a petty insult or two.  Obama's done.

"Everything he just said isn't true"

It's the My Cousin Vinnie argument!

185 Me and the Ms. went to the Cowboy Poetry shindig (tm) in Elko, Nevada last year and had  a whole hell of a time. Music and poetry were great, notably Dave Stamey and Sourdough Slim, but the  importance of the week was that it is really an underground networking for Concerned, Conservative Ranchers and other Rural Folk. Big government is not your friend out here in the West, but you do have many friends who realize that.  Oh yeah, harry reid, you can kiss my hairy ass.
