I did not see the very first part, so I can't comment whether there was a shout-out, but I assume that's a joke. I mean, he did make a passing reference that was in the style of a shout-out--i.e., something like, "We need to pause and offer blah-blah" (completely paraphrasing). Then went right into the stump speech. So it might as well have been a shout out, but it wasn't jocular. Again, he had just started talking when I turned it on. So unless I missed something, he spent like one sentence on it.

 

And his emotion was not somber at all. It was the same thing as always. He repeated the joke about Romney's "borrowing money from your family." He told the joke about this being a podiatrist covention within seconds of starting, hence, immediately after the preface about recent events.

Or on him going to bed while some of the victims were unaccounted for? Or perhaps him going to fundraiser immediately after making his public statement about the incident in which he responded like such a wuss that those responsible for killings are probably laughing at him right now?

Do you even realize how inconsistent and idiotic your reasoning is? Anyone who donates to Cato, supported libertarian presidential candidates, and supports smaller government has no reason supporting Obama. I could see supporting Gary Johnson or some other fringe candidate or I could understand you simply sitting out the election instead of voting for Romney, but voting for Obama when you apparently want less regulations and government intervention into your life is completely stupid. Plain and simple.

Yeah, because ObamaCare and billions of dollars a year in new government regulations (see the Federal Register) are not examples of top-down managing the economy. Puh-lease.

Both major parties enlarge government more than I want them to, but if, on a 1-10 scale (1=small government, 10=big government), Republicans are ranked as a 5, the Democrats, including Obama, are a 10. I simply don't get your logic. Plus, your characterization of Romney regarding civil rights issues is laughable considering how much worse Obama is on issues like gun control. Oh, you may not think Obama has been worse based on his time in office so far (which is a political calculation on his part), but just wait and see what happens if he wins reelection and never has to face reelection again. Everyone looking at the guy with a clear head can see that he's a big government liberal who will try to ram through more far Left policies in his second term. Is it that difficult for you to see this?

407 I sympathize with the spending criticism. However, it's GOP lights like McCain and Ryan deploring sequestration! Cut the damned budget, already! Spending cuts aren't dangerous, they're not a "fiscal cliff" as big spenders on the right claim. Reduced spending is just common sense. Cut it all! Do it today! Do it again tomorrow!
