Obama's Stupid Surprise Press Conference
— Ace

A surprise, I'd warrant, so that the press corps did not have a heads-up. If they had a heads-up, they could have thought of questions they've wanted to ask him for months.

In this nationally televised bullshit session, he claims, among other things, that he never heard of or knew of Senator Reid's "didn't pay his taxes" attack on Romney.

He also claimed his campaign never called Romney a felon. Via Instapundit, Drudge links...

However, let's not start sucking each others dicks too soon, gentlemen. Remember that about 47 percent of the population is going to vote for a Dem no matter what, and in some states more (Recall Massachusetts supported Teddy Kennedy for decades no matter what the scumbag did). This election ain't over yet, and cheap shots like "Republicans want to outlaw abortion" can sway the undecided/independent/stupid (anybody who is still undecided has to be pretty stupid and easily swayed)

101 He is something worse -- he is intellectually lazy, with a flaccid brain created by 50 years of being told he was special and having everything done for him.

He has never been challenged.

Barky isn't "intellectually lazy". He's a friggin brain-dead retard, a stone cold idiot with the mathematical sophistication of a slow 8th grader.  And he's a nasty, spiteful, despicable prick on top of it.  Breathing is a challenge for the Indonesian Imbecile.

Then he does think Romney's a tax felon, and caused the cancer that killed Soptic's wife.

A homeowner bailout of 3K so they can buy junior a new book bag?

I really tried to listen to the whole thing but that statement just tore it.

Give 3K to homeowners underwater and apparently not make them use it on their mortgage?

This will help stimulate the economy?

Escuse me I have to go yak....what has my country become?

This is dishonesty the old fashioned way.

It is technically true that his campaign did not call Romney a felon in two ways: First, it's one thing to commit a felony, and another to actually BE a felon, which requires that you actually be convicted of a felony. They suggested (which is not technically the same thing as an outright accusation) that he MAY have committed a felony, which brings us to way #2.  The second way is that they left open the possibility that he is merely a liar, rather someone who has committed a felony.

So there was plenty of inuendo, which he conveniently ignored (surprise!), but no actual accusation.  I'd say that Republicans claiming that there was an actual accusation, instead of what really happened, is less helpful than complaining about what really happened. But maybe that's just me, and John Q Public doesn't really give a shit about the difference.

So this isn't like that "out of context" ad he took out, that was an easily verifiable flat-out lie, that he not only said, but that he also spent millions of dollars to make sure everybody heard.  That was more like the Obama I've come to know.

The WH Press are lulling him into a false sense of security.  Then in four years when he's announcing 10 million pardons one of them is going to shout out a hard question.

Actually they are lulling him into a real sense of security.

Anyway, they are definitely lulling him.

116 @ 101, I think that CBD has an accurate assessment. The JEF isn't stupid so much as he's never actually needed to use his brain. Every decision in his life has been made by someone else while he fires up a joint and has fun until someone tells him differently. It's laziness to the extreme and pathetic in practice.

It does when the WH Press Corps does it.  As an aside, how come Obama never referred to them as the Press Corpse.

119 I want someone to ask Obama, "If you have evidence that Mitt Romney has committed felonies, why have you not instructed the Attorney General to investigate?  Would you be willing to order his arrest before the election?"

130 If you wring all the bullshit out of the first question, what he ended up asking Obama was: Does Akin represent the real Republican position on rape?

Posted by: motionview at August 20, 2012 02:27 PM (i+DU3)

131

On the rape thing, he does at least admit that this is a MO thing, and doesn't try to associate Akin with Romney/Ryan. It's odd, though, how he focuses on "rape is rape", which apparently addresses the use of the term "legitimate rape", which he apparently is suggesting means "rape that's OK", when he should know damn well it means "actual rape, not just somebody claiming a rape that didn't actually happen in order to be allowed certain priviledges or benefits." The other odd, and kind of offensive, thing is the constant references to abortion as "health care". But that's how they are.

The initail Medicare claims don't smell right, and need to be addressed. It seems highly unlikely that they are spending less and magically getting more for seniors.  Only the free market can pull that kind of rabbit out of a hat, at least in the long term.

Posted by: Optimizer at August 20, 2012 02:28 PM (As94z)

132 14 Wouldn't you know the day Newsweek finally decides to go negative on Obama (on the cover no less) it gets totally buried by the notion that women can block sperm while being raped. Is Obama the luckiest SOB on the planet?

BHO: "I'm not sure all those characterizations you've laid out there are accurate. For example, nobody called Mr. Romney a felon."

Um... She didn't SAY that they called him a felon, she said that "they have suggested that Mr. Romney might be a felon ..."

Then he ignores the question, which was "Are you comfortable with the tone your campaign has set," and pretends like he and his campaign are focused only on issues.

I'm actually impressed with how pricisely the report phrased the question. Again, Obama isn't technically lying here (even the "I'm not sure" stuff doesn't outright dispute what she says), but he instead chose to rephase the question to something that he could give a better-sounding answer to, while completely ignoring the actual question.

139 Next presser we'll see will be shortly after the October surprise, in which Barack "Dick Cheney" Obama kills Assad and whoever's left with either a Seal strike or a Batman drone. The presser will be the kickoff for eighteen days of frantic fellating by the MFM, with above-the-fold 5,000-word stories about every detail of the op, followed by a movie, opening everywhere November 2. Obama the Magnificent.

140 Is it just me, or is it quite ironic that the man responsible for Obamacare says the government shouldn't be making health care decisions on the behalf of women? At least we finally found one thing the President doesn't think government should have control over.
