— Ace Jason Mattera asked him why he'd said the Tea Party was "insanely racist," and Rock grabs at the camera and throws it to the ground.
Chris Rock weighs about 130 pounds. He's like a less-attractive version of Prince. If you can imagine that.
Pretty sure that if he weren't surrounded by security, he would have thought twice about this gambit.

Prince could lay down some killer tunes, and he had stage presence. He also had some money and fame or so I hear. I'm not aware of anything assholish he did off stage, unless you count the tiffs with his record producers . . . and, frankly, I hate those guys so that's more a plus than a minus in my book.
I'm not surprised if he can still find someone to take home every now and then.

over-paid children. I'm serious here. How many actors, comedians,

Actor George Clooney, who was on the Hill today, will be at the White House tomorrow.
Before ClooneyÂ’s congressional testimony about violence in Sudan and South Sudan on Wednesday, Sen. John Kerry mentioned the actorÂ’s plan to meet with the president.
“I know they’re going to be talking with Secretary Clinton and President Obama tomorrow,” Kerry said, referring to Clooney and John Prendergast, co-founder of the Enough Project. A spokesman for the human rights advocacy group confirmed that Clooney will visit both the White House and the State Department on Thursday.

I agree. Long after he stopped doing stand-up, he remained a brilliant monologist after the fashion of, say, Mark Twain. You could see this best in his monologues when he guest-hosted for Johnny Carson.
I still remember fondly one such monologue, the theme of which was "I ceased to be hip the moment my first bill came due." This was when I was still a teenager. As with all great monologues, it not only made me laugh, but it made me think as well.
It made me begin to understand the difference between political conservatism and social conservatism; that people can espouse liberal politics yet conduct their personal lives in such a way that shows that they are conservative by nature.
I still haven't figured out, however, whether that makes me respect them more, or less.

SNL could never be THAT funny.

--To be fair, it's not like he's a novice to the cause. He was involved in the Darfur Project and actually has visited Sudan (probably several times). As with Richard Gerebil and Tibet, I take him as sincere on the issue.
That does not mean I want U.S. soldiers helping out there, though.

Hitler *started* in the far-Right; but should be treated as a fascist tyrant, like Mussolini and Stalin... and Chavez.
Posted by: Boulder Toilet Hobo at March 14, 2012 03:13 PM (QTHTd)
Sorry, that's a bit off. All started on the far-left. Mussolini was the editor of the major socialist newspaper in Italy, and a major figure in socialist politics there. His experiences in WWI made him realize that national consciousness trumped class consciousness (workers felt stronger affinity to fellow countrymen from other classes than to fellow workers from other countries), so he replaced the internationalist component of socialist thought with national pride - hence "national socialism."
As for Hitler, read Mein Kampf. Much of it deals with his hatred of capitalism, unearned wealth, the stock market, banking, and "international finance," all of which he connected with the Jews. It's not clear whether his hatred of capitalism came because of this connection he drew with Jews, or the other way around. But the political economy parts of Mein Kampf read like an Occupy Berlin screed.

Got to give the SGT Major credit for being a professional. Nco's like that allow the Corps and My Army to function as it needs to. If we lose them, then it all goes to shit.

They've come to the inevitable destination their road ideological purity was destined for. Most of the US hates being preached to in movies, Hollywood has no idea how to write new and original stories that aren't thinly veiled leftist screeds. That's because everyone who wasn't a card carrying moonbat was run out of town via stoning.

So you can guarantee what I'll do in the future?
HOLY FUCKING SHIT RANGINESS HAS A TIME MACHINE!
Well, that or you're a douche-canoe with more talk than common sense and no real concept of reality... yeah, that's a lot more likely.
Crap, had my hopes up there for a second. Sorry, I really want to use a time machine, and jackhole idiots like you claiming to definitively know the future with a "guarantee" seem so convincing...
I mean it's like you're so fucking stupid you don't even understand that what you said was impossibly stupid so you even convince yourself of your idiocy... oh yeah, that makes sense too now that I think about it.
Nevermind, I think I've got this figured out. You're just an idiot. Sorry to bother you, I'm sure you've got enough problems... remember inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale... don't forget again.

"Sir Ian McKellen, who this week claimed government anti-paedophile measures are excessive, is facing embarrassment after the discovery that a former member of his theatre guild was jailed for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy."
There must be some mistake. Male homosexuals never go after underaged boys. Never. It's a well-known fact.

244Hitler's anti-Semitism led to his anti-capitalism, considering he blamed everything negative on Jews, not just that. International finance, Bolshevism ("Judeo-Bolshevism,") sabotaging the German economy -- all Jews in his book.
Posted by: Fascist Scholar at March 14, 2012 03:46 PM (60GaT)
Maybe, but on reading Mein Kampf, it's not exactly clear which came first. Hitler's anti-Semitism started when he went to Vienna (IIRC he says he hadn't known any Jews before then), where he was impoverished and exposed for the first time to hard-left agitation. So he was simultaneously exposed to capitalism, Jews, and communism, and didn't like any of the three. One gets the impression that he focused on the Jews because they were connected both with capitalism (bankers and stock "jobbers," as he calls stockbrokers, and international finance) and with communist agitation.
But read Mein Kampf and see what you think. It's not at all clear whether anti-Semitism was the driver or the consequence of his views. More likely they interacted to reinforce each other.

Look, Chris Rock is rich. And when you're rich, if some douchebag gets in your face with his camera, asking stupid questions about nonsensical bullshit, it makes sense to just take the camera and smash it to the ground. He can reimburse the douchebag with the money that falls out of his pocket when he pulls out his wallet. Being in the 1% has hits privileges.
If you were rich and some lefty blogger with a camera got in your face and asked you similar questions and ran after you after you ran away from him, would it be inappropriate for you to take the lefty's camera and smash it? You could just reimburse him. I guarantee that if some conservative had done this to a lefty blogger, you'd cheer him and have no problem with it whatsoever. Wealth has its privileges, no?
