— Ace That the Science is Politicized is actually settled.
U.S. President Barack ObamaÂ’s administration is concerned that a crucial United Nations report on climate science may be too harsh in assessing the cost of fighting global warming.Such a finding may lower the incentive for the world to reduce fossil fuel pollution and feed the arguments of those skeptical about whether itÂ’s worth spending money to curtail rising temperatures.
...
“The discussion of the economic costs of mitigation is too narrow and does not incorporate co-benefits of action,” U.S. officials wrote in a submission to the UN, according to a document obtained by Bloomberg. They said including only one side of the equation “unnecessarily skews the information.”
...
State Department officials are pressing to factor in improvements to public health and lower energy costs from increased efficiency that would happen if fossil fuels were limited. Those would offset the price to be paid for switching over to cleaner forms of energy such as wind and solar and paring back on lower-cost fuels such as coal.
Of course. We all know that when you convert from a lower-cost, privately-operated fuel industry to a higher-cost, government-subsidized-and-mandated one, you "increase efficiency." Always. It's like a Rule of Economics.
So of course you should figure this Fake Factor into your math and then claim it's "Science."
The last time the Obama Administration lied to the public about the actual costs of a major socialist program it all worked out so swimmingly that the Health and Human Services Secretary got rewarded with a Victory Resignation.
Of course, Obama's chief contribution to American Democracy is changing the numbers so that people are incapable of making informed decisions about the efficacy of government, and are thus unable to hold government accountable.
Via Weasel Zippers and Breitbart.
The Most Transparent Administration In History*
* Based upon our own calculations of transparency, which have been recalibrated to take into effect the increased efficiency that occurs when a government is disburdened from honestly reporting on its performance.
Seriously, it frees government up so much. And that's what you want-- a government free to live its life to the fullest, without consequences, without regret.
Common Core Math:
"What you have to do is subtract the cost of doing nothing from the costs of mitigation then subtract how it makes you feel divided by racism to get the correct figures."

It is no longer about nature, easily concluded truths, facts or likely extrapolations based on reliable and broadly agreed data points. IT is about manipulation and ideological subterfuge. I don't believe anything the entire science world concludes anymore. They've destroyed any semblance of credibility either through action or inaction.

Or economic growth. As everyone should keep in mind, they deliberately moved the goalposts in the middle of the game. The way GDP was calculated was reworked in 2013, in such a way as to artificially add about two percent and change to the figure.
Q4 2013 GDP growth was a whopping 2.6%. That's _after_ revision.
So basically what they're doing is carefully concealing stagflation. They learned from Carter.
As always, John Williams' ShadowStats web site is key for people who want the real numbers on growth, inflation and unemployment, without being fiddled and diddled by grabberment bureaucrats.
Caution: those real numbers are pretty horrifying and depressing.

Leftists like to point out how, in the past, Religion was an impediment to Science.
Now...the Left has become an even bigger impediment to Science than Religion ever was.
The Left also used to rail against anything that remotely resembled a curtailment of Freedom of Speech.
Now...the Left actively seeks to quash Freedom of Speech, in anyone who disagrees with them.
The Left truly has become that which they used to rail against.

And that's bullshit as well. Ask them sometimes how religion was such an impediment to science historically given that churches were the sole source of widespread literacy in most regions for centuries. It's not like Dennis the Peasant was busy of an evening reading Aristotle and Ptolemy in his little hovel by the light of the fireplace.

Lower energy costs from switching to impractical expensive energy and (presumably) rationing regular energy? Lower energy costs?

When you have no energy your costs are lower, free in fact.

How long before Barky issues one of his EO's proclaiming that "All doctors must take Medicare patients"...
They keep pushing people onto Medicare.
And there are fewer and fewer doctors who take Medicare patients.
So again...Math will bite them in the ass.

The dumbing of Amurica.
This is the great leveling that every leftist talks about.
Everyone is equal and anyone who isn't will be burdened until they cannot perform better than anyone else.
DIVERSITY!!!!
Since certain demographics have an I.Q. Bell Curve that is shifted lower than other demographics, we will now emplace a learning standard that will equally hamper learning on all demographics.
With the added benefit of making these COMMON VILLAGERS less able to think critically and thus be a source of trouble and resentment towards their OVERLORDS.
The Great Equalization will begin.

That movie was the biggest piece of pseudo-gnostic, mystical Hollywood claptrap and bullshit I've ever seen cobbled together on the big screen, but I still liked it. Neo was a sympathetic hero, Trinity was hotness personified, and the action sequences were great. Awesome popcorn flick.
Thing is, 'The Matrix' kept hinting at these weighty philosophical issues in play, as if at any moment some kind of deep statement of one sort or another would be revealed. But no. What we got instead were the worst sequels ever made by a major movie franchise.
Oh, and yeah: I wasn't the only one that noticed that Neo, Trinity, and the rest murdered any number of completely innocent people on the flimsiest of pretexts. You see that security guard? After a long, hard day at work, he's going home to his wife and kids and...oh, okay. Neo just shot him to pieces. Too bad, so sad. And so on.
Normal human beings exist in that movie universe solely as props to be shot and blown up at will, for dramatic effect, and Neo and his friends are the only beings with legitimacy. The more I re-watch that movie, the more discomfited I am by it.

But not his fault, mind you, no siree.
It's the fault of white GOP guys who haven't helped out people of color for all these years.

Also, those ultra high efficiency furnaces can be finicky as hell, and they cost a huge amount of money when they break. Computerized control boards FTW!
Torquewrench's Law Of Appliances: certain devices really should not have microprocessors embedded in them, for what ought to be obvious reasons.
Repair costs always have to be figured into the total cost of ownership, and those glossy gooberment energy savings brochures somehow always discreetly elide that important point.

Medicaid being partially administered by states, I expect accepting any and all Medicaid patients to become a requirement to renew your license to practice, at least in states that expanded Medicaid through Obamacare.

Co-benefits:
1. Fewer squirrrels around the house
2. More NRA fundraising letters to use a kindling
3. Nice arm definition from working the press when reloading
4. Liberal neighbors maintain a respectful distance now that know you're probably packing
5. Your own ATF file, with surveillance photos
6. The smell of CLP that permeates the house makes they guys who are dating your daughter twitchy
7. A trickle-down economic boom for the South
