31 Wrongo Buddy...What an idiot....He should be praying to Obama for help...Not GOD !!!!! The last time Rocky Twyman and friends invoked the power of prayer to pull down the price of gasoline was in 2008, when a gallon of regular was going for a US national average of $4.12 in mid-summer. God must have been listening: prices did fall, all the way to $1.61 in November that same year, as Twyman went coast to coast with his media-friendly Pray at the Pump movement. But four years on gas prices are getting back up, and Twyman is swinging into action once again. "Bring down these prices, God!" the silver-haired grassroots activist from Maryland urged the Almighty on Thursday at the base of the $4.15 sign outside Congressional Exxon, a five minute walk from the Capitol. Too many people are suffering," he said, holding a "honk if you want $2 gas now" sign in his hands.

Be careful with that- too much of a good thing, and all.
If you're used to being tired anyway, and now you only feel "meh" instead of "WOW!" then it's probably just that your body is only used to being "awake" for a few hours at a time.

What I find works for me (when I get to work from home) is a nap.  Must be on the couch (if I'm actually in bed, my body wants minimum of 5 hours) and I can normally get by with 20 - 45 minutes.  If I'm really desperate, and can prepare properly, a 10 - 15 minute power-nap works.

What you thought artificial sunlight would save you from the post lunch nappies?
Guess what. Warm sunlight makes it worse not better.

We'll title this little exploration into the human condition...

"Ace learns humans naturally want to wake up when the sun comes up in the morning and take naps after lunch in the afternoon"

Or "A journey of discovery, the circadian rhythm"

A day at the zoo watching the primates would have gotten you the same information.

I'll give you a little hint. Despite the fact the sunlight is making you sleepy now, don't try and use it at bed time, it will keep you awake.

BTW sunlight does make you happier.

If the artificial light thingy doesn't work, I hear there are two other options you can try.  1. Go into a building that has stained-glass windows.  I think it has to do with the light filtering on the windows, but if you go there for about an hour, just once a week, it might help.  2. My understanding is that females are an excellent source (but don't necessarily absorb it themselves) of the nutrients our bodies need to increase our energy and vitality.  You would need to directly access certain fluids secreted from their mucosal tissue, and allow it to come in contact with your skin, especially parts of your body that have lots of nerve endings near the surface.

Whichever regimen you use, good luck with your treatment!

On an OT turn (why not?), it's nice to know the Obama campaign is now   targeting private citizens in the quest to get the jugeared SCOAMT McFuckstick re-elected.

From a donation request letter from OFA, via Big Gov't (http://tinyurl.com/6vats6k):

In just about 24 hours, Mitt Romney is headed to a hotel ballroom to give a speech sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, a front group founded and funded by the Koch brothers.

Those are the same Koch brothers whose business model is to make millions by jacking up prices at the pump, and who have bankrolled Tea Party extremism and committed $200 million to try to destroy President Obama before Election Day.

...

Pitch in $2 or more over the next 24 hours to show that, while that message may fire up two oil-industry billionaires, itÂ’s also one that plenty of us are tired of hearing:

Yes, folks.   It's not Obama's fault that gas prices are skyrocketing.  It's all because of the EVIL KOCH BROTHERS.

I think something like 75% of people are at some level of vitamin D deficient. I was real low so I started taking vitamin D and it brought the levels up good.

100 It's all because of the EVIL KOCH BROTHERS.

F The Koch brothers.  They're at least rich and can, therefore, fight back to some extent.  I'm pissed off about this little gem: " Tea Party extremism"

Tea Party extremism?  Seriously?  It was bad enough when they said it BEFORE they all became Rape Apologists for OWS.  Now it royally pisses me off.

But i knew the moment Joe got attacked that was my sign I would never want that man as the president or the progressives to have power. shame on the 52.

The Koch brothers can fight back, Allen, but not their employees.  Or people who share their name but are no relation (like that one business also run by some Koch brothers that was targeted for vandalism and death threats because leftists are idiots).

It's reprehensible for a sitting President -- indeed any politician -- to     come out broadsides against a private citizen     and demonize that citizen as the true culprit behind all of life's troubles.    When one of Obama's little sycophantic leftist psychopaths finally gets it in their head to assassinate the Koch's -- or their secretaries, or their janitors, or the guy who just happened to dash into their building to use the bathroom -- they'll preach to the rafters that it's not Obama's fault.

On days when I get a lot of sun, I could sleep standing up. .....Everybody's system is a little different. .....But for me, I find that the key to maintaining a good energy level is to come indoors after an hour or so, for about 10-15 minutes, then go back out.

.

So with a light lamp thingie, maybe it's like that too.....do it in intervals? ....Then your system has a chance to reset, and it becomes beneficial again when you turn it back on.

148 That was.... that was FTW. I watched it all the way through.

I just had a wild and, perhaps, un-PC thought on that "black dog" thing. Arabs have had a little problem with Africans since, oh, the Zanj at least and I *know* the Arabs've passed on their opinions about said race to Europeans and Persians. [David Goldenberg, The Curse of Ham; Suliman Bashear, Arabs and Others in Early Islam]

When Afghan Muslims call Obama a "black dog", I suspect that they are not calling him a dirty dog who just happens, by sheer coincidence!, to be black. I never have heard an Arab or Khurasanian Muslim call Bush a white dog or even (to borrow from the Hadith's term for Greeks and Persians) a red dog.

The silly Muslim once called Cassius Clay opined, during another war, that no Viet Cong ever called him a name beginning with the letter N. Well, the Muslims have been doing exactly that shit for 14 centuries now, and here they are doing it again.

Obama's reaction to this insult against him and his is to... apologise.

An insult to morons who breathe and drink valuright and slay hobo Occupier types. May his days in office be numbered and may he return in full glory via Marine One to Chicago 1/20/13, sobbing and clutching his golf clubs. I am sorry that there are not less than 330 days until this magical moment in time. I am sorry for the liver damage and personal hardship since he became our pretend leader. I am mostly sorry for the US military who have to serve under this fool for another 330 days and 14 hours, not that I am counting or time-traveling into the future.

151 Ace, if you're seriously doing light therapy, computers can screw that up because of the blue light they make.

Fortunately, the original developer of Google's Picasa software has a free program that can fix that for you called f.lux, and available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, as well as jailbroken iPhone/iPad, and soon Android as well.

It's really great --- it just adjusts the color temperature of your monitor depending on the time of the day. I could hardly live without it at this point.

153 re: light stuff I don't recall if you're a northern european-type under all that ewok fur, but if you are, you may have the same issue I do: too much light makes me sleepy. I remember one early spring day when my entire family walked around the neighborhood for less than an hour (and we live north of NYC).... and when we got home (around 3pm) we all fell asleep. so, no, the light doesn't improve energy levels for all people.
