"Olbermann Broadcasting Empire" Vs. Current TV
— DrewM

It's a PDF I can't copy and past from but I've been putting them on my Twitter feed.

First and best part? The name of Olbermann's company is, "Olbermann Broadcasting Empire". Seriously, it is.

Right now the extent of the "Olbermann Broadcasting Empire" is Keith on a park bench yelling at the pigeons about Bush lying us into war or something. The bird's just want the bread crumbs Keith.

Some highlights from Olbermann's suit and occasional snark from me.

Olby says Fred Hyatt wanted to be Olby's friend but "Olbermann did not reciprocate Hyatt's advances" and then Olby was punished.

"Olbermann thought he made a deal with a legitimate network but instead go an unprofessional cable-access show". Olby never watched Current?

.@keitholbermann's lawsuit reads like a Special Comment. If only he could deliver it with dramatic camera turns.

I wonder how many legal documents actually contain the phrase "too little, too late" like Olby's lawsuit does.

Hmmm...@keitholbermann says his company's "primary asset is the artistic services of Keith Olbermann". Not newsman, performance artist.

"Hyatt behaved as if he had just paid Olbermann to become his puppet instead of the Chief News Officer". Come on that was a goofy tile.

"Stunningly, Al Gore's network was not interested in establishing a strong internet presence" Cause he invented it @Keitholbermann?

"Olbermann opined to Bohrman that ["Young Turk Cenk] Uygur had difficulty separating facts from things he wanted to be true" Blue on Blue!

Olbermann objected to use of his likeness to promote The Young Turks & The War Room because he "believed they were low quality programs"

"In a "Keystone Kops" move that was emblematic of standard operating procedure at Current...." You can't make this stuff up.

Wow, @keitholbermann says it was "disparaging" for Current to say he was "replaceable". Dude, you're replaceable. Ask ESPN and MSNBC.

Olby is upset that Current described him "as a difficult employee". Gee, no one has ever said that about @keitholbermann before now.

Oh my. "Olbermann is a person of unquestionable integrity who feels a genuine sense of duty to his audience and believes in the causes for which he advocates on his program" I seem to recall his "integrity being questioned before.

That's only up to page 28 of 44, there's got to be more in there. I wonder if it ends, "Good night and good luck".

The whole thing is begging for a dramatic reading take down.

It's very possible that Current did break the contract but the fact that Olbermann was stupid enough to go to a network no one watched and then was shocked to find out it was a rinky-dink operation it pretty funny.

I'm telling you, Olbermann is going to end his career/life showing up in studio and on camera ranting and raving while brandishing a gun.

The building will be evacuated and he'll be taken down by the local SWAT team.

And it will be broadcast live.

34 A pox on both their houses. But a quick aside about the Flashback Trojan that is hitting Apple Computers: Apparently it is enclosed in a file called: Dr. Web determined that more than 600,000 Mac computers may be infected with Flashback, which is designed to let hackers steal potentially valuable information such as passwords or financial account numbers. Hackers trick Mac users into downloading the virus by disguising it as an update to Adobe Flash video viewing software. Jobs hated Flash Video from what I remember? So be warned!

Then to some offbeat channel nobody watches where he sucked harder and deepthroated to now Empire Of Keef where he can finish the job and swallow. Too funny. 140 Fact checking just the first 3 pages of Olberboy's lawsuit on twitter: @drawandstrike #1: The lawsuit states twice on the first page that Olbermann was 'courted' and 'enticed' to leave his job as MSNBC to work for Current TV. As all of us who have followed the soap opera that is Olbermann's life know quite well, he was FIRED from his job at MSNBC. He didn't voluntarily leave it to work for another network. #2 A contract with an employer is not lifetime tenure. Amazingly enough, Keith apparently still thinks it is because he's claiming Current breached his employment contract by firing him. #3 Keith claims the seriousness of Current breaching his contract by firing him was compounded because they did so 'publicly'. #4. Under point 2 of the lawsuit, Olbermann claims Current TV 'courted' him to leave his MSNBC job. #5 Keith states after being brought in to be the star of the new network and it's highest paid employee, he was shocked to learn his bosses actually wanted to spend time with him discussing things. This struck Keith as an extreme breach of protocol because it was an obvious attempt to 'isolate' him from his representatives, who are supposed to deal with his bosses for him. Because Keith wouldn't deal with his bosses, he claims he was 'punished'. #6 The lawsuit discusses how upset Keith was that David Bohrman was hired to run the network because he, according to Olbermann, is a man 'without relative experience' when it comes to network news. Here's David Bohrman's wiki page. Look how many network news shows he's done: http://tinyurl.com/boj8npc This is the guy who's hiring Keith is claiming was a breach of contract. #7 In point #4 of the lawsuit, Keith hilariously begins claiming that bad DVR programming and the absence of Keith's program from cable lineups limited viewers ability to tune in, so it was Current's fault his ratings were so low. Breach of contract! #8 Lots of complaints about how substandard the studio set was without mention of the fact Keith designed it himself and it cost $250,000. After Keith decided he really didn't like his self-designed set, he demanded Current fork over $$$ for improvements, and when he didn't get as much as he wanted, all of a sudden the badly designed substandard set became all Current TV's fault. #9 Olbermann claims...........sit down for this one....that Current TV is breach of contract because they broadcast ads for Keith's program using Keith's likeness....and KEITH NEVER GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO DO THAT. I am NOT making that up. It's right there, page 3, point #6: (1) broadcasting advertisements containing Olbermann's likeness without his consent.... #10 Keith claims he never gave his approval or permission of the guest hosts Current TV used when he wasn't there to host the program himself. I stopped on page 3. I couldn't go any further because I am laughing so hard.

Philadelphia Experiment shit. I told ya.

That's what happens when IT is based below the equator. Water circles the shitter backwards and so does time.

I warned you. I tried.

171 Bracts (not petals) on dogwoods are even numbered.

172 Someday, Olby will have his OWN shopping cart and push it around grumbling "But YOU SIR!" at passers by.

174 Zip it, and commence scuttling.

Now, now, grammar matters.  I think what you meant to say was "Zip it, and commence to scuttling".

175 It's in Orem, Utah. Alt ~4500 feet. closeup: pic.twitter.com/GBCs3Lg9 distance: pic.twitter.com/hjFoGZ4W I'm pretty sure cherry. Maybe Yoshino cherry. Guess I'll have to wait for the fruit or try to catch the neighbor when I walk by the house.

176 Hey, I know what Olbermann can do now that Current shitcanned him. He can become the Constitutional Law Professor at Cornell Cow College.

177 175 Try this tree identification routine at Arbor Day site ---- Thanks. I tried that one, but I didn't get a good enough look at the leaves to use it effectively.

178 BTW, did you know Utah is fifth in the production of cherries (in the US)?

Posted by: Y-not at April 05, 2012 05:26 PM (5H6zj)

179 Actually, up north the first trees to blossom white are choke-cherries. I don't think they're  usually planted ornamentally, however. They have small blossoms with small petals. You'll usually see them in first (sometimes second) growth forests.

A week or so later the dogwoods blossom. They have much larger white blossoms and petals. And they do hold their foliage late into the fall, when it turns a golden color. They are planted ornamentally and grow wild, usually in second growth forests.

180 Y-not, if you're nervy knock on the homeowner's door. If the trees are purpose planted they'll probably be flattered to be asked about them.

Posted by: Retread at April 05, 2012 05:28 PM (joSBv)

181 I love dogwoods. I loved the white ones we had growing basically wild in Maryland. So delicate. The ones I'm thinking of are the ones that are very horizontal in the growth, not the upright/columnar ones. I doubt they grow here, but I should check. Speaking of flowers, it was sad to see that the Augusta azaleas have already bloomed and basically passed now. Masters coverage won't be the same.

And with all the Mormons there, it probably is tops in "popped cherries".

183 >>182 Y-not, if you're nervy knock on the homeowner's door. Yeah, I probably will. But it's funny, possibly because of the missionaries, there are a lot of "no soliciting" signs on peoples' doors around here. The thing that really turns me on is that last fall these particular trees were spectacular gold and they kept their leaves longer than any other trees in the neighborhood.

184

Speaking of scuttling, there's a large Japanese fishing vessel that made its way to Alaska after the tsunami and the Navy is going to sink it with high explosive shells.

I'd kinda like to see that!

186 Maybe a note in their mail box, then.

A neighbor a few blocks over kept me in peonies for several years because I stopped to talk to him about them one night on the dog walk.

187 188 Maybe a note in their mail box, then. ----- No, it'll be fine. I walk the dog by there a lot so I'm sure I'll catch them. Actually, it might be a nice change of pace for them to have a Catholic knocking on their door! :-)

Colorado has some stuff in bloom too. It finally had some precipitation earlier this week

190 Section C.49 is my favorite so far: "Despite clear contractual language, Current played games with Olbermann over his role in Current's election coverage for a week. [...] Olbermann pointed out that his right to editorial control of the Program Specials, as set forth in the Agreement, was part of his authority as the Chief News Officer. In Response, Current contended that the title of Chief News Officer was merely 'honorific' [...]" Shit just got real! BWAHAHAHA

196 Keith Olbermann is the Samantha Brick of broadcasting.

Boom!

Posted by: d-day at April 05, 2012 09:21 PM (rwFUv)

197 Olbermann seriously claimins on the first 2 pages of this lawsuit that Current tv 'enticed' and 'courted' him into leaving his secure job at MSNBC to come work for them. Seriously Keith? Do you REALLY THINK everybody's forgotten by now that MSNBC had FIRED YOU before Current TV came knocking? Epic fail, man. EPIC FAIL.

Posted by: drawandstrike at April 06, 2012 03:56 AM (iGKkt)

198 Olbermann is clearly delusional and while that has some entertainment value it raises serious questions about dealing with the mentally ill. Sure it's easy to ridicule him, because his illness manifests itself in such an obnoxious manner, but shouldn't we show some compassion?
He is totally incapable of recognizing his own insanity and since the 1960's involuntary commitment is not really an option except for the extremely violent insane (and even with them it's difficult), so I don't see him committing himself voluntarily to get the treatment he needs. It puts into focus the problem we have in approaching the issue of high functioning psychopaths that can fend well enough for themselves, but wreak havoc on all around them.
Keith has a serious medical problem and it needs to be treated that way.

Posted by: kraki at April 06, 2012 04:43 AM (ylLDT)

199 Olby reminds me of some of the parents we see around the school district.  They say things like, "My son has been in 4 districts and got in trouble in them all.  Those districts are obviously screwed up."

Keefums, if you have had problems everywhere you've worked, the problem might not be what you think it is.
