— Open Blogger (Your regular Saturday host is trying to get in good with the new owners of Star Wars. Took his kids. Says it's a vacation. I think he intends to trade them for a re-release of IV with Han shooting first.)
So. That happened.
I'm not going to pretend to have some sort of deep insight into all the things that added up to another Obama term. Frankly, I think the best answer is probably a little bit of "all of the above".
Bottom line though? We are not the country we thought we were. As has been pointed out by pointier heads than mine, we lost the cultural battle for the electorate long ago, and have made little noticeable improvement on that front since 1984.

They even took that from us, remaking it with this guy as the agressor.

What to do in a world where you wake up fundamentally boned? Where taxes are going to rise, incomes fall, inflation skyrocket, and Obama's mug soon to grace the face of the Hundred-thousand dollar bill, which, along with a shiny Biden nickel will buy you a steaming cup of Joe at Starbucks.
Shown reduced scale, but actual value.
See - for me, that's how I'm choosing to look at it. Yeah, Ace and the egghead cob-loggers are going to do what they do best - wargame strategies that raise the hopes of the moron-hordes that next election, we'll have a winning plan.
I'm a giver. This is what I do. I give...
Not me. I don't see a path back right now. And frankly, I have to admit, I felt relieved after the loss. I wanted a big-choice election like this to tell me whether we as a nation had the willingness to do that which was hard in order to preserve our republic.
Obviously our message could not beat the dulcet and seductive tone of our competitor's message.

...And sometimes I take.
So here we are. If the country wants to give Socialism a try, I'm in the general frame of mind to tell our reps to rubber stamp everything, and let the Dems own their Utopia.
All I need to do now is figure out how to profit off the stupidity of the 52%, and do it all with grace and humor. And I have a plan. Well, I have a plan to get a plan.
My solution is groundbreaking. It's stupendous. It's...it's...
Well, it's you. So yeah, grace is right out, but I still have high hopes for the humor and the profit.
Sound off tonight on all the ways to make a buck or save a buck in the coming economic wasteland. Daddy's new AK-47 ain't gonna buy itself, after all.
Oh wait. Shit. It's something called "caturday"?
Umm. Here. Enjoy this or whatever, but really, and I cannot emphasize this enough, make me rich with your comments.
Tonight's ONT brought to you by the Patron Saint of Silver Linings, Mr. Slim Pickens.

I want to start a false-flag operation up in the deep blue Northeast. A lefty peacenik disarmament push. The sort of thing that Mary Clogginstein of Brattleboro, VT would gush over.
What do we want to get shut down? Bath Iron Works in Maine. A shipyard for Navy destroyers.
After all, BIW work to make WEAPONS OF WAR. And WAR IS BAD FOR CHILDREN AND OTHER LIVING THINGS. We all need to work for A WORLD BEYOND WAR with reduced weapons buying.
I see no reason why the pathetic remnants of naval defense spending under Obama should go to a shipyard in a region that votes for lefty politicians who hate the military. Not when the funds could instead go to build warships in reliably red Gulf Coast states. Though we won't mention that in public.
Let's start to pressure those politicians from their peacenik left. What do we want? BIW closed! When do we want it closed? Now!
Of course, we can't let BIW sit empty. We have to "repurpose" it somehow. In a peaceful way.
I'm thinking something along the lines of the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too. Or a womyns' lesbian marine biology center.
But I'm open to your suggestions.

I am coming to terms with the notion of Letting it Burn.
We have been literally compromising for 30 years by bending a little on this, moving a little left on that.
We have been told over and over if we were only a little more reasonable if we could just moderate our positions a little more if we could be just a little more bi-partisan we would be rewarded by the electorate.
Well the electorate has spoken and they have voted for Marxism, they have voted for statism. They have voted for higher taxes.
The people have voted, now they must suffer!
I say let them have it with both motherfucking barrels.
Get to work Boehner you lickspittle spineless motherfucker.

If another such nation ever arises, it must - by necessity - execute any citizen that ever suggests it is 'fair' to steal from the public coffers to give to someone else.
Else it too will be eventually destroyed.
We just need to understand that all nations are eventually destroyed. All human endevour eventually turns to dust. The key is to keep the principles that are good and righteous and carry them forward to rebuild.

I have posted this before
Here is all you need to know about how doing another round of amnesty will go.
Presidential Voting History for California.
1968 - GOP.
1972 - GOP.
1976 - GOP.
1980 - GOP.
1984 - GOP.
1986 - Simpson/Mazzoli Amnesty Act Passes.
1988 - GOP.
1992 - DEM.
1996 - DEM.
2000 - DEM.
2004 - DEM.
2008 - DEM.
2012 - DEM.
California is now entirely Democrat and will never vote for another GOP President again because of massive unchecked illegal immigration to that state.
This is the fate that awaits the country if we are stupid enough to commit suicide but seeing as we have idiots in leadership positions and within the ranks of the Conservative "intelligentsia" this seems the likely outcome.

Economics, how does it f'ing work?
COPENHAGEN — Denmark said Saturday it would scrap a fat tax it introduced a little over a year ago in a world first, saying the measure was costly and failed to change Danes' eating habits.
"The fat tax and the extension of the chocolate tax -- the so-called sugar tax -- has been criticised for increasing prices for consumers, increasing companies' administrative costs and putting Danish jobs at risk," the Danish tax ministry said in a statement.
"At the same time it is believed that the fat tax has, to a lesser extent, contributed to Danes travelling across the border to make purchases," it added.
"Against this background, the government and the (far-left) Red Green Party have agreed to abolish the fat tax and cancel the planned sugar tax," the ministry said.

Are we not in a similar position to those of the members of the Frankfurt School ... We don't have the burden of trying to replace something strong, we only have to burrow like sappers and plan how to rebuild once the collapse comes.

True, but, arson is easier than building. Plus, they were allowed to act largely with impunity. The few and far between attempts to restrain them were mostly ineffective. They were, after a relatively brief time, allowed to do whatever they wanted, even with their goals known. With the shoe on the other foot, they will know what they have to do and they will do it.

1) Orient yourself. Figure out where your vulnerabilities to the new state of affairs are. Chances are you are not as bad off as you might have thought. But you also have some unique challenges in the 401k. Stop whining about what could have been, and figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are.
2) Obama-proof your income. Honestly evaluate yourself and figure out what you have to do to make sure that whoever is in the 18% of un- and under-employed, it ain't you.
a) Are you where you need to be at work? If they have to let someone go, would it be you? Make sure you are not the first one fed to the alligator. If you can use an Obamaphile as a buffer between you and the gator, so much the better.
b) If you were let go, do you have an alternative job? Have you kept up your network? Ideally, the day they let you go is the day you walk into a new job. How close are you to that ideal?
c) Take a look at your assets, especially 401ks, and IRAs. Do you know ALL the rules for your 401k plan? Do you know where it is invested? Have you let your investment strategy get rusty?
3) Stop feeding the beast.
a) Enlist the help of good CPAs and investment counselors to make sure you are not paying more taxes than you should. Tax avoidance is NOT tax evasion.
b) Evaluate where you donate your money. Is it contributing to some organization that does not share your values? Cut it off.
c) Stop throwing so much of your paycheck at the entertainment industry. Figure out how to amuse yourself instead.
4) Get what you can. Take full advantage of benefits that you are required to pay for with your taxes.
5) Focus on local and state government. These levels affect your life more, and you have a better chance to affect them. Find individuals in your community that have the potential to become good elected officials and support them NOW.
6) Profit off of blue state. Is there a service or product that you can provide cheaper/better than Ohio or Michigan? Do it.

They don't understand what's coming because they never learned history (thank you union/democrat dominated public schools).
Thus they are condemned to repeat it. The thing that makes us so mad is that they're dragging us with them.
Let's not discuss how we'll do this or that next election. Cause unless someone here has a couple billion in their bank account (I'd move that to the Caymans, stat.) we're not going to change a fucking thing in this country.
I know some don't want to hear that but face reality, we're not coming back in recognizable form from this. No country ever has.
The smart thing to do is trade ideas on how to protect yourself and your loved ones from the coming avalanche. where to go, what to do. what they might have planned and what can be done to mitigate it.
Let's stop with the mutual masturbation circle jerk discussions that some seem to delight in here (myself included) and get down to reality and some brass tacks.
Stop relying or thinking you can rely on anyone in DC. You can't. even if they recognized the danger same as you do, there's little THEY can do about if they wanted to. They may see it but don't care as they figure they can protect their little corner.
That's the attitude to have. I've watched the Republicans dither and bitch and moan for 52 years and 1994 and 2010 convinced me their lying. They secretly admire the Democrats they want to be them when they grow up. They want the power and to be able to stand up to bullshit bluffers and win. but they're stuck being what they are because of demographics in their region or because they know the Democrats wouldn't have them.
Republicans are like the team the Harlem Globe trotters drags around with them so they have someone to play off of. It's called the second banana. The guy that gets the pie in the face and the white wash down his pants. The butt of the joke.
You can't say you won if you didn't have an opponent. If the Repubs didn't exist, the Democrats would have to invent them. (and who's to say they didn't?)
Recall the matrix. As long as there's a choice, most will accept the program. Some will make the choice to oppose but the program has a sub program to balance that equation out.
We're the lost fucking hope to attract the rebels and revolutionaries so that they can be controlled and made useful but impotent.
That's right guys; we're fucking impotent. has nothing about the last 11 years sunk in. We took a hit to a couple buildings and it's taken us 11 years to rebuild what originally took 2. That's a measure of how low we've sunk. We've been coopted and deballed and all with our willing cooperation. It's too late to fight through normal channels.
The only path left is to survive and await the collapse so as to rebuild. But that collapse can be delayed years and years maybe centuries. It's happened. It will happen somewhere again.
Anyone wants to discuss what we should've done or what we can do can go ahead. Take it from me the time for working within the system is over. They OWN the system.
I don't mean to be such a downer or rain on anyone's parade. Neither am I depressed or despairing. There is hope. It's just not with all night discussions about our fucking messaging.
This ain't Red Dawn.
This ain't a movie.
This. is. real.

This time the USDA delayed its release nine days past the semi-official deadline, far past the election, and until Friday night to report August foodstamp data. One glance at the number reveals why: at 47.1 million, this was not only a new all time record, but the monthly increase of 420,947 from July was the biggest monthly increase in one year.

Bottom line though? We are not the country we thought we were. As has been pointed out by pointier heads than mine, we lost the cultural battle for the electorate long ago, and have made little noticeable improvement on that front since 1984.
I disagree. In my opinion you're reading stuff into this election that isn't there. If you do that, you won't be able craft an effective countermeasure. We need to understand what really happened if we're going to win elections in the future.
All you have to do is look at the exit polling. Americans still want the same things they always wanted: jobs, a strong economy, a strong defense, a responsible president, lower taxes, and a smaller government.
The problem in this particular election was that the electorate didn't trust Romney to follow through on his promises. They came to that conclusion because of Romney's "47 percent" comment, which was distorted effectively by the Democrats, and by the summer-long ad blitz that the Democrats used to define Romney. Finally, Romney's own changing history made him an ultimately fatally flawed candidate.
Also, the jobless stats were cooked; the number of people on food stamp was hidden; corporations were threatened into not laying people off until after the election; and the press refused to tell the public what Obama's policies have in store for them.
If, after four more years of Obama, a Democrat gets elected president, then I'll agree with you that we've changed. But in this election, the voting public had vital information withheld from it and also chose to believe what it wanted to hear rather than what it should've seen with its own eyes and ears.
Still, there's not doubt that Romney made a series of fatal mistakes. I saw a poll today that showed 11 percent of Tea Parties supported Obama because they didn't trust Romney.
In 1988 Reagan won 49 states, including insanely blue states, because people believed he stood for something. They knew what they were getting with him. They felt Romney didn't stand for anything, so they went with Obama--narrowly--because they knew what he stood for and they didn't know how horrible his policies have been. They voted for the status quo out of fear of the unknown.

Good stuff Sweet Lou. I'd add that you should be sure to consider your contacts among your assets. There may be people who can help you hide assets, income, and transactions. Use those people to help you hide what you've got and get.
I'd also suggest looking into non-US assets to invest in. Not all economies are as doomed to recession/depression as ours. Even many third world nations are stable enough to make money in without undue worry. Also, look into expatriation. The fact is that eventually the Libs will have enough power that they're going to become totally lawless, and come after us to rob us. It's going to be like what the Nazis did to the Jews - steal everything. They may not murder many of us outright, but they'll rob us if they can.

They didn't trust Romney, so they went for Obama as a known quantity and as a purveyor of the status quo. They thought, "Things are bad, but they're getting better, and who knows what Romney will do once he's in there?"

The Remington 870 is a solid, quality weapon and fairly cheap. I think trap shooting is the best way to practice with a shotgun. The kick of a shotgun is pretty strong and could cause hesitation if you aren't used to it. I used to shoot at this cool range adjacent to the runway at Miramar. It was kind of weird pointing a gun in the direction of an F-18 as performed touch and goes.

Two thirds of registered R's sat at home and we still got 48% of the vote.
That tells you it was our candidate, not a massive swing toward leftism in the country, that cost us the election.
Posted by: Llarry at November 10, 2012 10:06 PM
Actually, I tend to think it tells you more about "registered republicans", than the candidate. If they don't know enough about Barry to vote against him, no matter who the candidate was, then the left has manufactured a "swing", regardless. If the system, media etc can contribute to those "R's" sitting it out, then what you've got is "D's" by default.

We allow "children" to vote. Can anyone here argue that the majority of 18-26 year old Americans are no more mature than 14 year olds were in the Forties?
I have read comment after comment from recent female college grads who said, "Until the GOP is interested in social issues, I can't vote for them...I know the economy is really bad, but I chose the person I voted for, I did with social justice in mind."
I took "social justice" to actually mean "Oh, those poor gays just want their civil rights" and "those poor illegals should be citizens."
I was a young college grad once. I recall how self-righteous I was. That's how we women are at that age--damn stupid, downright silly. I just never thought a huge percent of males of that age would ever be as much the airheads as we girls. Wrong!
The reason they don't place as their #1 concern "the economy" rather than "social justice" is that their damned parents have coddled them and are still supporting them. Why the hell should they worry that they don't have jobs?

Romney was far from perfect. He had Romneycare around his neck; his flip-flopping on abortion and gun rights; and his history of supporting moderates. That's pretty much a trifecta in turning off most Republicans, not just the purists.
Don't get me wrong; the Repubs who stayed home were unforgivably stupid, but since very few Americans know what it's like to live under true socialism, I understand their ignorance. The Repubs who stayed home can't imagine how bad it's going to get, that's all.
I can, because I've lived in it. But most Americans can't.

870 is a good choice. Better yet,go to several stores and pick up different guns. One of them will feel just right to you--that'll be the one.
The ammo needs onlt to be #2 or #4 high brass. At home defense range (6-8 ft) the pattern willbe about the size of a golf ball. At 1200fps,that is like getting hit with a subsonic sledge hammer.Definitely ruins someone's week.
The additionaladvantage with shot rather than slug is less penetration of structure--think of aloved one in the next room--lessens the danger.

There are lots of reasons the GOP lost Tuesday. I think almost any Republican would have lost----I mean Bachmann? Perry? Santorum? Huntsman? Give me a break. The Democrats are just dirty enough and slimy enough to get the turn out that they need no matter what. And the GOP just can't compete with the dirty filthy campaign that is Obama and the MSM.

But that swing can be overcome. Romney showed how in the first debate. If he had been that guy times two the entire campaign, he probably would've won.
He needed to go on all the networks that most of the country watches and simply shred the interviewers. He needed to go into the lion's den at every opportunity.
Another aspect that doomed Romney is his modesty, which prevented his side from publicizing his good works and charity.
And, sadly, I do think refusing to release all his tax returns hurt him, too.

This is what Romney said after he lost:
The nation, as you know, is at a critical point. At a time like this, we can't risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work. And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion. We look to our teachers and professors, we count on you not just to teach, but to inspire our children with a passion for learning and discovery.
As if this had been a race between Cleveland and Harrison. As if it weren't the "teachers and professors" who did this to the electorate.
Romney would have changed NOTHING in office.

Reactionary, I am staying away from foreign investments because I think they have worse prospects than the US. But to each their own.
The important thing is to start focusing on our finances. Time to get focused on the dull, boring stuff so our ducks are in line when opportunities arise or crises threaten.
Being prepared means we will be ready to profit off of dumb lefties who think and invest like happy days are here again. But it also keeps us from being broadsided by stuff that happens "unexpectedly", and gets us out of "deer in the headlights" mode.

Because we can't possibly make that claim. There's no evidence for it.
On the other hand there's plenty of evidence that Romney himself could've won if he'd done things differently.
He ran a good campaign, but it was seriously flawed. The biggest flaw--probably the decisive factor--was in letting the Democrats define him for an entire summer.
The second biggest mistake was in not ramming home the notion that Obama's policies are what's responsible for keeping us where we are. That was touched on, but it should've been hit the way the Dems hit Romney on being a "vulture capitalist."

* Repeal the Hollywood tax cuts.
* Oppose bailouts: nothing is too big to fail.
* Close the borders; fight amnesties to the end.
* Repeal the 1965 Immigration and Nationalization Act.
* Reform the schools wherever the right prevails.
How did the anti-White left win?
* Domination of the mass media, including Hollywood, so start there.
* Free government money instantly recycled as political bribes.
* Importing a new nation.
* Importing a new nation, illegally as well.
* Domination of education, so reform that at every opportunity.
Demographically, America moves a point or two further to the left with every election cycle. The solution is not to run Reagan every time; even Reagan couldn't win California now. If America becomes California, the left wins forever. Preventing the left from continuing to import a new nation is all-important.
But that can't be done in the face of a continuous leftist mass media hurricane and compulsory education in cultural Marxism. So support home schooling, and repeal the Hollywood tax cuts. That comes first.

361 Pretty good points there. I do think some people still voted for Obama because he's nice and popular or something stupid like that. I talked to a woman the other day that said she was glad that Obama won because he is so handsome and Romney looks mean. She's pro-life, pro-Israel, extremely conservative, and completely in the dark about everything. How can the GOP overcome that? I don't think Reagan could have overcome that ignorance. But I think that the GOP does need to stop looking at network TV and cultural shows as a bad thing. People were making fun of Obama for going on Entertainment Tonight instead of a serious political show, but how many idiot women did he reach by going on that show? The Grand Old Party just can't compete with Honey-Boo Booers, women who need a husband instead of the government, and voter fraud.

You're right. He legitimized Obama's policies by putting such a heavy emphasis on reaching across the aisle, thus contributing to the electorate's notion that Obama's policies weren't that bad after all.
Romney undercut a lot of his own arguments by telling people Obama was a nice guy; he and the president agreed on a lot; and Romney would look to the Democrats for their input.
People decided, "Well, heck, why should we risk changing horse midstream when even Romney says things aren't as bad as those Tea Partiers said? Let's give the president a little more time. What could it hurt, really?

With endless side-by-side comparisons of positions. By explaining until you're blue in the face what exactly that nice guy has done and what his policies will do. By being specific.
And by offering specific alternatives.
By the end of the campaign Romney had erased the likeability gap. People liked him as much as Obama. But they just felt he wouldn't follow through on his promises because they couldn't detect a core set of values.

Posted by: Llarry at November 10, 2012 10:34
Yeah, I hear you. But, still. The number mentioned was 75% of registered R's. I don't know if that it accurate, or not. But, if it is, there are bigger problems. If 3 quarters of your registered voters are sitting it out, with Barry in the balance, because they weren't inspired by Romney, there is a serious political malfunction that serves the left. One has to ask- why does 75% of "R" voters, NOT know what Barry means?

Posted by: Mo the Girl who thinks most of the swing states suck at November 10, 2012 10:40 PM (MtrZW)
I STILL don't get the "Obama is so handsome and likeable" crap... I don't think he's particularly handsome, and he's CERTAINLY not likeable - more like arrogant, condescending, and narcissistic... And Romney looks mean?? I really do think I am living in an alternate universe. Of course, I always thought Dick Cheney looked like a nice old grandfather, not Darth Vader
Meanwhile, I didn't hear it, but apparently Jon Stewart made yet another Republicans/Confederacy "joke" the other day. Just how are we supposed to attract new people to the Republican Party if all they hear is how they'll be called racists for being Republicans? It's that sort of stereotyping that we have to somehow overcome.

Because like most voters they're uniformed, and like most Americans they don't know what socialism entails.
If every American knew as much as the commenters here, Obama would've lost by 80 percent. But we're in the minority.
My father--a former Exxon executive, veteran of the Coast Guard, and one of the smartest people I know--gets all his news from Fox, MSNBC, CNN, and the L.A. Times.
Although he's online, he never goes browsing for news. His routine is to read the paper while eating breakfast and watch the news while eating dinner. That's it.
Although he always votes straight Repub, he doesn't actually know much. For example, he says he doesn't know what we get out of our military alliance with Israel.
Also, here's another factor we have to take into consideration: Most people are soup by the time they're about twenty-five. They're finished. They're done. After that, very little new thinking takes places and very little new information penetrates.
Most people are generally unreachable. They know what they know, and that's it. To reach them, you have to do what the Dems do and data-mine on a microscopic level. You have to tailor your message to their preconceived notions.
It's tough, but it can be done.

When "your" leaders say "You have nothing to fear from my opponent!", when it is obvious to rational people that you do have a lot to fear, then there seems little sense in voting at all.
When "your" leaders say "I slept like a baby knowing that my party lost!" with a subtext of "but I am still in power", then rational people that soon determine that there seems little sense in voting at all.
When "your" leaders shirk their fundamental Constitutional duties by refusing to actually use the power of the purse because there might be ripples in the inside the beltway pond, then rational people wonder just what duties their elected representatives will perform.
When "your" leaders consistently write laws for you and exempt themselves (Obamacare and insider trading), then rational people see fewer and fewer reasons to respect the law and the legislative process.
When "your" leaders offer you free shit bought by confiscation of your neighbor's property and efforts, rational people decide they better get on the bandwagon and scarf up as much of that free shit as they can while there is still something left to confiscate.

You can say "fuck" all you want, Samuel, but it doesn't change the fact that you're dead wrong. While you and I know that Romney is a man of impeccable character, the voting public didn't. The reason they didn't is because the Republicans let the Democrats define Romney.

Actually, that's a good strategy. If you have a cellphone and a shotgun beside your bed, you can call 911 when you hear an intruder, then prepare to defend your position if you have to.
Read and article from England. Guy calls to report an intuder, they responded the couldn't have anybody there for half an hour. Guy hangs up calls back, "Never mind I just shot him." Police showed up in 10min. Cops said "I thought you said you shot him?" " I thought you said you couldn't make it."

There are ways to reduce perceived recoil if you're recoil-averse, and I recommend them. Butt-pads, reduced-recoil loads, and, as a last resort, specialty stocks are available.
There are inertia reducers that can be installed in the stock. Don't know how well they work.

That's not entirely their fault. Mitt shares the blame.
Well, it's their fault for refusing to inform themselves about the stakes. Now they get to learn firsthand.
There's a great line in the Monkees' movie Head: "Of course you'll listen. Now that it's too late."
We'll see how everyone's feeling after the massive rounds of layoffs hit, nobody hired for the next four years, and huge numbers of full-time employees either have their hours cut to 29 a week or have their health insurance dropped.

I have an odd question. I've been taking notes about the weaponry like crazy, but I've never shot anything (except a bow, a few times). Problem - I don't have depth perception to speak of. One eye farsighted, one nearsighted - they take turns. Would I still be able to shoot well, or should I look into alternatives? Do you use both eyes or one to aim?
If you use a rifled shotgun barrel you can cover your living room with both eyes closed.

Asking for prayers, please, if you're the praying kind. My brother in law, a staunch conservative and kind and generous man, is going in for a procedure on Wednesday to determine if he has lung cancer. My sister is a RN and she is expecting to hear the worst. He smoked for a long time, and has had numerous health issues over the past 5 years, which include having his spleen and half his stomach removed. My sister fears he is too frail to withstand any treatments he might have to go through. When I spoke to him on Wednesday, he was coughing so much he could barely get out a sentence.
The election was awful - I've lost my country. Now I am terribly frightened that I am going to lose a guy who is more like a brother to me than a brother-in-law. This is becoming the month from hell.
Prayers, please.

Back then motion pictures with sound was brand new, and they had a multitude of classic novels to make into movies. The industry was also run by Jewish immigrants who still loved America, not the fuck America shit you get since the communists succeeded in taking over.
People now have a multitude of entertainment choices in their own homes rather than pay up the ass to watch sequels of movies made from old tv shows or sequels of remakes or movies made from video games.
Once utility rates necessarily skyrocket according to Obullshit's plan, theaters will have to pass those air conditioning costs on to someone. Then there's the loss of revenue from concessions once the nanny state outlaws big sodas and buttered popcorn.

Move out of blue states into swing states to help future elections. (Living in California, i think about it all the time).
Become an independent. Completely erase all "Republicans" from the voter rolls. Stop all donations to the GOP. This will help hide your conservatives as independents.
Progressives will have to find a new enemy of the state. When we all become "independents", the GOP can retire.
Prepare a 4 year plan as needed after each election.
Become "good" at left of center talk speak.
Learn to survive in a liberal landscape. (just like conservative actors have had to).
Sign up for federal entitlements. (get back what you can, and then some).
Be the ant not the grasshopper.
Declare yourself a minority by picking an American Indian tribe. Research, Photoshop, and create a family tree. If anyone challenges you, just ignore the question and show them your "papers".
This is enough fodder for the night.

A better way to go is to get an interlock for your breaker panel and back feed a 30amp breaker powering your whole panel with your generator.
That way you have access to all of your circuits.
I have a generator in a shed that feeds an inlet box on the back of the house, this is junctioned into the panel through an unused 30amp 240 dryer outlet.
I also have a 55 gallon fuel container that has a hand pump.
You could get a tri-fuel generator and run off of NG if you have that available to you.
Whatever you do do not fall for those standby generators like a Generac or a Kohler.
I have neighbors who have had nothing but trouble with them and they payed a boat load of money to have them installed.

Tammy lethality is a reflection of ammo the 18 inch barrel has to do with handiness and weight.
You get a barrel too long in an enclosed environment you can't bring a weapon to bear, but the recoil is usually negated by the added weight.
I bought an Indiana State Police Rem 870 that is 18.5" and am pondering buying a Winchester 12 and having the gunsmith put it to Tench Gun specs.

Doubter, I'm not boycotting movies. I simply refuse to pay nearly ten dollars a person to watch a movie that is unextraordinary or offensive to me. We save the theater for 5 or 6 times a year when there is something awesome, like The Avengers, coming out. We save the rest for cable or Netflix. Is this an issue for you?

Romney won Whites of all ages and both sexes. He lost non-Whites of all ages and both sexes.
The Republican Party is the White Party, like it or not. The Democratic Party is the anti-White Party.
Getting races in the anti-White coalition to defect to the White Party does not work. Romney lost Asians worse than Hispanics, and there goes your non-NAM coalition.
As long as the White share of the population declines, the future is bleak. That is the reality.
One point of light in the darkness: Romney did win White youth, though narrowly. As far as I can remember, McCain didn't. (Anyone have numbers on that?) If so, maybe this coming generation can see that it's interest is not in being shoved aside.

*************
OK, get a double barreled shot gun, take off the stock, put on a pistol grip, and cut the barrel down to about eight inches long.
It will do all you want, for a very low price.
Of course, it will almost certainly be a *highly* illegal sawed off shotgun.
So... anybody you shot will automatically be viewed by the police and the DA as a crime victim, and you will be arrested and charged and almost certainly convicted of murder.
Your lawful self defense will automatically convert to murder one.
So... you might want to invest in a couple of classes in criminal evidence gathering. And some body bags and industrial solvents. Or a pen full of hungry hogs.
You'll have to be able to dispose of this body, and clean up the crime scene well enough to beat any investigation.
You also might want to look into a way of preventing anyone from hearing the shot gun blast. Silencing a shotgun is pretty difficult, and will greatly add to the length.
So you might have to sound proof your whole home. Which is pricey and difficult.
...
Or you could just stick with a legal 18 inch shotgun, or a pistol. Both of which are legal and avoid all of the above hassles.

Agenda:
* Repeal the Hollywood tax cuts.
* Oppose bailouts: nothing is too big to fail.
* Close the borders; fight amnesties to the end.
* Repeal the 1965 Immigration and Nationalization Act.
* Reform the schools wherever the right prevails.
How did the anti-White left win?
* Domination of the mass media, including Hollywood, so start there.
* Free government money instantly recycled as political bribes.
* Importing a new nation.

Actually, the major problems are on our side: turnout and letting the opposition define us.
Unfortunately the average Republican voter cut his or her own throat this election by showing the party leadership that the our voters can't be relied on to turn out even if the stakes are astronomical.
The leadership is now faced with two choices: Should it depend in the future on the average Republican voter, or should it try to appeal to a broader coalition by doing more to attract independents and Democrats?
Everyone already knows what the answer is. If Republican voters had turned out in overwhelming numbers and trounced Obama, it would given Romney a mandate; would've forced him to take into account the desires of everyone who elected him or he wouldn't have been reelected; and would've broken the back of the mainstream media.
Instead, a historic opportunity was squandered because the average Republican voter didn't trust Romney. This is the exact same reason the Dems and independents gave for voting against him. People voted with their emotions, not their heads.
So ultimately, there's no difference among the parties when it comes to reasons for voting. Dems voted for Obama because they didn't trust Romney, and Repubs stayed home for the same reason.
All this talk about despairing of ever attracting voters again should be aimed at Republican voters, too. They could've gotten rid of Obama and smashed the mainstream media in one blow, but they chose to stay skip it.
I don't believe we're doomed. But if we are, Republican voters are just as culpable as the Democrats.

Bank in terms of budget yes. You have to pretty much be a secret agent to get a conservative film made. One studio exec can make or break you, if they feel that the movie sucks, they will kill the marketing budget which usually doubles the production cost, or you'll head straight to video. Many people don't realize the millions that go into marketing a film, it doesn't guarantee success, but you will for sure fail without it. I can assure you if you go in and say, "Hey, were going to make a conservative movie!" Your film will go the way of Atlas Shrugged.

Look at all the swing state tallies and tell me we couldn't have won this if Republicans had turned out. Tragic and really, really shortsighted.

Yeah, a 18.5 inch barrel shotty is really more efficient. You won't have to call in as many chits with your Sheriff neighbor to help with body disposal... ;-)
Police agencies that used some seriously cut down shotguns found that they had to put some sort of "grip stop" at the end of these shot guns. Why? Because in the heat of the moment, with the adrenaline and the racking of the shotgun slide, they found they that sometimes they would slide the non-firing hand right up to the edge of the muzzle. And sometimes beyond.
Hence the grip stop.

(You'll need a strong door to go along with the dead bolt.)
Also, if you just use a cell phone, make sure your charger is in the bedroom too. You don't want to be roaming the house looking for a wayward cell phone at zero dark thirty with possible hostiles in your home.

Pretty easy, whatever you can handle. A .22 will scare the shit out of a robber just as much as a 9mm or 45. The robber isn't looking to see what caliber your weapon is, he/she just hears lead being slung at them.
I know that a .22 will not do as much damage as a .45 or 9mm, and that being shot with a .22 just pisses people off, but I have never had anyone volunteer for me to piss off.

Nothing wrong with a six shot .38 or a .357.
Good wheel guns are damn fine guns.
One good thing about 9mm compacts. They conceal real well, and are also very *comfortable* to conceal too.

I have a pair of 1851 navy colts that were converted to .38 special and had the bores sleeved for modern .357 diameter ammo.
Had a gunsmith slick up and polish the actions and tweak the aprings so they are true colt three clickers.
When wife was on her way home from Afghanistan she asked for either those or a pair of 1872 open tops for sass I bought her both and she took the '72s and gave me the '51s...

I've shot that rifle, and it's stout, but there's no sudden "crack" like a high velocity round imparts - it's a shove. Your neighbor needs to pull that stock back tight into his shoulder and get a good cheekweld is my guess. Any gun (not .22s, of course) will bruise if you don't have it mounted tightly. It's like giving it a running start to your shoulder, and never ends well.

QFT. Canada (CANADA!!!) is focusing on highly-skilled immigrants right now with no screams of racism, while we are apparently bound to accept the tired, poor, et al. based on some 19th century biddy's stupid poem. Bring us your Engineers, your Welders, your Electricians and Pipefitters and Millwrights, and we might make something out of this mess. This idea that anybody can come in is disastrous. I want immigrants that add to the productivity of this country from day one, since our kids are all apparently on the law / medecine / MBA or nothing (e.g. retail and unemployment) track, and most end up on the nothing side of the ledger. I need skilled tradesmen and can't get them.

Try. You have nothing to gain by not advocating it.
Do you understand what is in store for you? The anti-White left wants to import a new nation and get rid of the old one. Chronic mass non-White immigration plus compulsory integration and assimilation means a future without White people. Then the Democrats would rule like the A.N.C. in South Africa, and eventually like Mugabe in Zimbabwe.
There is no reward for going along with this plan quietly and nicely.
The only potential reward is for opposition. No matter how bad the odds, no matter how long and hard the road, the right thing to do is to struggle, or at least advocate struggle.
If it doesn't work under one President it may work under another. Keep trying to build momentum.
Pass it on: repeal the Hollywood tax cuts.

@1160
It's tempting, isn't it?
Just remember that the Cloward-Piven strategy is to get people hooked on that stuff, and to have it eventually collapse the system. While that might sound great about now, the idea is to "transform America", as Obama puts it - to a permanent socialist state.
You intentionally cause the system to collapse, and then say "See - it doesn't work." Then everybody surrenders their freedoms voluntarily (goodbye Constitution!) and it takes a Revolution to try to get it back. Feel like taking on the US military?
OTOH, if it just damages the Democrat brand, as things go badly, that'd be OK.
The thing is, we need to work on getting the message out about what an abject failure Obama and socialism is. Challenge the MFM. They barely won this time. In fact, I'm not sure they even won legitimately.
If we, or even Congress, start playing along to just show the disaster it will cause, when the time comes for something different, we just look like hypocrites.
It could be that this just starts to turn around the political correctness. We elected a "black man". Stop giving us all that stupid crap about what racists we are. The libtards believe that white people are racist, whether they're racist or not (even if they, themselves, are white - the wear it like Original Sin), and that elevating a black person is some sort of virtue, regardless of their merit. Non-ideological people are going to get sick of that eventually, and they might even buy that we can be prosperous again - that it doesn't have to be this way.

Mine is a type 30 carbine, produced around 1902 or so and replaced as obsolete by 1905. They went to the T38 pretty quickly. My carbine shoots about 8" high at 100 yards, I haven't sighted it at 200 but from what I understand they were "battle sighted" at 300 yards or so. It's a fun little rifle, recoil isn't bad, big enough caliber for deer in all states.

Besides, did you see that they delayed the release of the EBT enrollment number 9 days, until after the election? And that the enrollment jumped greatly, by 400k+, to a new record 47.1 million?

The Maverick 88 by Mossberg.
http://www.maverickarms.com/pages/88security.htm
It's a Mossy 500 made with some outsourced parts so it will retail for less than 300 bucks, you can get a nice used one for less than 2, and it's still a Mossberg so the Mossy barrels and whatnot will fit. This is the first shotgun you should buy if you think you might need one but don't want to part with lots of cash.
The good thing is you can buy the 8 shot Security 88 and then get a 28" vented barrel with interchangeable chokes to make it a good hunting/skeet shooting gun and use the standard 20" barrel for home defense. The long barrel will set you back about 150 more bucks.

I would like to hear more about how one can pursue the voter fraud business. Why the hell does everybody lie down and just take this stuff?
In the Senate, my admittedly outdated probabilities on the Senate says that the odds of losing two or more seats was about 1/400. I totally smell a rat. There are also a lot of stories about FL, where they said today that Romney lost by only 74,000, OH where it might nhave made a difference, and PA. We heard stories of long lines and record early voting, but fewer votes. WTF?

Actually, we lost it in the '60s when the Warren Court adopted one-man-one-vote as a Constitutional principle, Reynolds v. Sims, 377 U.S. 533 (1964). It's not - and was expressly rejected during the original Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.
No private enterprise in the world so grossly mis-allocates responsibility for its management.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy,
We beat the odds once with Reagan, but he is the only true conservative we have elected since 1964.

...Not me. I don't see a path back right now."
Sad thing was, things were really looking up for me and my wife prior to Tuesday. We're hitting it great at the gym (never had done so before in my life), my computer classes at the local J/Cs are going well and I'm on track to accomplish my resume enhancements there, and we've managed, through family assistance with our living situation, to refinance our car and move some of our credit card debt to better interest rates. We've also saved almost a cool $2k up in a "baby account".....because we want to have a baby next year.
I was optimistic prior to Sandy that Romney would win, and our fortunes would improve even more (maybe I would stand any chance at all of getting the better-paying job in a change of scenery that we so desperately need me to have).
....
And now it seems like the sky is falling, a notion I can't refute.
I've resolved to survive, ignore, and defy the Feds as much as humanly possible....
But, question for anyone: If the thesis is that we're irrevocably boned, hard tyranny is right around the corner, and all for conservatism is forever lost...
Then why go on living? What's the point?
Just a thought. Please nobody freak out, I've personally already had my mental crash two years ago. Don't got time nor the heart to hit the final "quit game" button. My father and wife have too much riding on my well-being.
But I want to know how I should continue living in such a doomed world (and why this is better than giving up, aside from the concern for others I've already raised). Maybe I'll understand better my personal path forward if I can hear it from someone else (here in CA, btw, where we just handed the Dems a super-majority).

Same thing here in MA. Lieawatha Warren defeated Scott Brown -- who would have been a Democrat in any state where people actually use their brains -- while Joe Kennedy III (who, like Choom Boy, has no experience doing anything) crushed his opponent. My local district reelected a man with, to be excessively polite, extreme ethical issues and a long history of doing fuck-all in Congress.
We also passed every piece-of-shit proposition on the ballot.
From what I hear, New Hampshire also went all-out Democrat.
The power of Free Shit, race and fraud is not to be denied, at least until we have a chance (if we're lucky) to rebuild civilization and turn what is fast becoming Zimbabwe back into the United States.
Reading the news has become even more depressing, if that's possible. We know what the MFM aren't telling us, which makes the tiny scraps of fact they allow out far worse.
Who would ever have thought the reelection of LBJ or Bubba Clinton would come to seem like the Good Old Days?

Or as Insty put it, Bush took doctors to the third world, Barky brings the third world to us.

Apparently, there won't even be "talks" about the Iran nuke situation. I sense the hand of Choom Boy pulling the backstage levers for his Muzzie pals....

One possibility is to reduce the risk of paternity fraud. If a couple divorces, no child care will be awarded until there is a DNA test to ascertain that the divorced man is the father. I admit that this will only work to keep faithless whores in marriages rather than divorcing and cashing in on some poor sucker but it serves the more important function of reducing the risk that a man contemplating marriage will find himself in the position of cuckold cash cow. Regardless of how often this happens, it is perceived as a significant impediment by many men. It is also perceived as a gross injustice by most of the population.
There are enough things to worry about before getting married. Apparently a great many men are deciding that the risk is not worth the reward any more. Something that reduces the risk by some level might lead to a greater number of men finding the risk/reward ratio more balanced. Women who would like to marry and do not plan on cheating on their spouse would have an incentive to favor such legislation for the self benefit reason that it improves their chances.
If a state also requires DNA confirmation before enforcing child care payments awarded in other states, the effect could be made greater.

Does anyone else find it strange that even the brain-dead Choom Boy voters and the MFM don't seem to notice that the government response to Sandy make Dubya's Katrina efforts look like a model of perfection?
Now that the election is over and the desired result was achieved, the "if it bleeds, it leads" theory of journalism mans they ought to be talking about some of the misery left in the storm's wake.

The Great Awakening and Methodism called people back to church and to a more moral lifestyle, which included marriage. When Victoria came to the throne, she set a model for the people with her family, which percolated through 19th century Britain, particularly the middle class.
Today, the models we have are mostly Hollywood, with people either marrying and divorcing over and over, or never marrying at all. Young men see marriage as a trap, young women think that living together without marriage is acceptable, and there you have it.
A religious revival is about the only way things will change, and those cannot be planned.

Oh please, dude.
That's like saying the Soviet Communists were "not in good shape" in 1917 when they took over Russia. Or, for that matter, that the National Socialist Party "wasn't in good shape" when You-Know-Who got his people into the German government in 1932.
Do you think everything was looking down for Kim Il Sung in North Korea of Fidel in Cuba?
Putting your party's hands firmly on the levers of money, power and media gives you a small advantage in government, in case you hadn't noticed. Thanks to the Dumbing of America, you don't even face the downside of having to perform, as is painfully evident today.
Between the mindlessness of his own party and the eunuchs' control of ours, Choom Boy is perilously close to establishing a Haiti-style President-for-Life scenario.
I call that lots of things, but I don't call that a problem for him.

The MSM has dropped back into the "Shiny object vs Squirrel" mode of operation,
American citizens starving and freezing in NYC
SoS is too busy to testify about Benghazi
Ambassador is too dead to testify about Benghazi
CIa Director too resigned to testify about Benghazi
More and more evidence of American citizens having their Presidential vote disenfranchised.
Food stamp report being delayed beyond the election to prevent bad news about record food stamp usage.
Our drone fired upon in international airspace not being reported to the American people till after the election.
"40 acres and a mule" has now become "40 minutes and a phone"
And the only thing the MSM wants to tell me is that Justine Beiber and Salina Gomez are no linger an item.

Have you noticed yet that if we believe the MSM reports, Barky is the least informed President in modern history.
He seems to live behind a shield of plausible deniability.
Or as I have taken to calling it in his case,,,
Deniable Probability.
There's only so much smoke you can blow up my ass before I start to think someone's lying.

Around here most localities have a monthly street fest shindig. Why not have a booth set up where surveys can be taken and positions passed out. Make the party seem more accessible. If you feel enfranchised you may feel more prone to vote. Ehh, but it will never happen. Just continue on with the suck, I'm gonna buy a big as sailboat and move to Honduras....

Just because they "own" the economy does not mean they get to participate in it. Locally, if you live in a blue state, only buy from individuals and companies that believe in what you believe. Move out of a blue state. List all companies that donated to Obama and boycott them. If you live in a red state, never by something that is based in a blue state. We are still half the nation, let's double our profits and cut theirs in half.

So here we are. If the country wants to give Socialism a try, I'm in the general frame of mind to tell our reps to rubber stamp everything, and let the Dems own their Utopia.
Yep! In fact, I am taking it one step further. When a friend posts something against the regime, or Dear Leader, I tell them they must stop watching/listening/reading material not approved by the state. This is the source of all their unhappiness. I tell them that keeping their eyes and ears on the comforting messages of the Ministry of Truth will make them much happier. There are bread and circuses all around if they simply open their eyes. They can begin their re-education immediately by turning on MSNBC.

Well the FDR model says that the answer is to make life as painful as possible and make the wayward electorate reach out to them like Julie in the conversion chamber from V.
Since everyone has a hard on for my wife losing her career I figure let it burn and run south to keep the red red.
Let it burn.

Boycott all the 80's destroying remakes. Ridicule the young guys at the job. "You drink Sapphire Gin? Were you on a diet?" I used that one last night on a black coworker age 24. Honestly WTF kind of black guy recommends Sapphire Gin?
